Best Temperature for asthma

My buddy is going to come over to try out my new Arizer Extreme Q, and he has asthma.
Backstory, him and I have been smoking buddies for a few years, until he started having breathing problems. It got to the point where he couldn't smoke anymore.
Recently I just bought the aforementioned vape, so we want to have a session and see if he has any problem with vapor. I want to ease him into it, and that's why I'm asking here what the best temp for asthma is; I read the sticky below...

Temperature oC Temperature oF General Effect
140 284 2AI
150 302
160 320 E,2AN,3AI,AE,AX,AS,BD
170 338 AX,2AN,AS,2AI
180 356 AE,AD,2AI,AX
185 365 SE
190 374 2SE,AD,AX
200 392
210 410
220 428 AI,AN,E,SE
225 437 SE
230 446 SE

AI=anti inflammatory
E=Euphoriant
AN=analgesic
AE=antiemetic (anti nausea)
AX=anxiolytic
AS=antipsychotic
BD=bronchodilator
AD=antidepressant
SE=sedative

...So i obviously want to get the bronchodilator effect, but i'm also wondering at what point negative things start popping up. So yeah, what's the best temperature range for vaping if you have asthma. We're going to use the bag in case anyone's wondering.

Well i have Asthma/Emphysema and i vape , negative things are coughing .So, i vape at lower temps because coughing hurts asthmatics .

If i'm using a Solo, i stay in the 4-5 range. On the Underdog, 11.4-.9 ish on a Pax -orange. Lower is better for me, but it may be different for your friend.

I'd start low and raise the temp and see what he can handle, without adverse effects :D

Alright cool, so what temperature would be the best to start at? The arizer has digital display (as im sure you know.
I was thinking of starting out at maybe 350F.

Well here's the temp guide for the Solo, so 4 or 5 for me would be 383 or 393 degrees. On your vape, start about 374 degrees and go up or down from there. If he's never vaped before , he may want to see a lot of vapor coming out, but it's not necessary to feel effects.
For someone with lung issues, the less irritation the better .

Here are the available temperature levels along with the average warm up times on the Solo:

  • Level 1-50°C / 122°F (15 sec)
  • Level 2-185°C / 365°F (1 min)
  • Level 3-190°C / 374°F (1 min 10)
  • Level 4-195°C / 383°F (1 min 30 sec)
  • Level 5-200°C / 393°F (1 min 50 sec)
  • Level 6-205°C / 401°F (2 min 10 sec)
  • Level 7-210°C / 410°F (2 min 30 sec)

I don't tend to have issues unless I get too thick vapor all at once, but his asthma may be more severe than mine.

I do find that it helps if I take in air at the end of my pulls it helps a lot. Some strains make me cough more than others, so it tends to vary, but if a strain starts choking me up I'll take 3/4th or even 1/2 lung capacity in air after pulling.

Just tell him to start slow and take it easy. Also try the bags! I've heard people say they find the vapor a little easier to handle, and less difficult to pull.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to use the bags with him. I feel as though that's the easiest to pace yourself (while im ripping through them). Truth be told, I'm a little afraid if it's the high itself that bugs him.

Other than running at a low temperature, I would also recommend using water filtration, for your friend with asthma. Running bags like you plan is also a very good method for someone unfamiliar with vaping.

Asthma/ lung issues are a bitch. Albuterol is such a short acting drug, anyone with severe Asthma should be on another medication to control it.
It's mainly for when I'm in my house and walk out to below zero temps and can't breathe with an extremely right chest. I use it presession and I feel it helps open up my airways when takings hits as opposed to normal breathing.

Yeah, extreme temps are a bitch too, winters where you live would kill my lungs and i like the cold. I don't have a hard time breathing till it gets below 10-20 degrees , that's summer to you lol
