I'm 35 Yrs. old and just had a pacemaker installed yesterday. Are there any known side effects of vaping with a pace maker? Does anyone here have a pacemaker and vape regularly?

Ha Ha..that's great. It just so happens I had to get a pace maker because of a really slow heartbeat. So I guess based on this Dr.'s professional opioion drug rehab is the best way to handle my "problem".:lmao::rofl::lmao:

I have a defibrillator and do fine vaping with it. Although I do have a funny story about it, which might be something to watch out for... After smoking a girl and I were doing things that girls and I do, when suddenly, at a crucial moment, my defibrillator went off! It was like getting kicked in the chest by a horse and practically tossed me across the room! Scared this girl half to death in the process too. Turns out, when I smoke the waves of my heartbeat get larger and so my defibrillator mistakenly double counts the beats, counting the bottom beats as top beats and goes off even though I am well within the normal range. We've played around with the settings, but I'm still a little nervous when I've been smoking and start messing around! Haha

i have no clue,,but you would think ,vaping as long as not choking and coughing real bad..I would not assume it would be harmful ..A little side note though..my uncle had one for years...only time he ever had bad issues,is when at the Casino.. had to rush down twice,to meet him at the hospital..I think it was all the electronics setting it off ..

I may have to look into this. I live in Vegas and although I avoid casinos like the plauge whenever family or friends come to town off to the casinos we go. Luckily I have had no problems so far. How old was your uncles pace maker? From what I understand they have made alot of advancements to pace makers over the years. No worring about microwaves for me:nod:. One other thing I heard was to watch out for theToyota Prius, the electromagnetic field it puts out may cause complications:lol:.

How slow was your heartbeat?
On average low to mid 40's. I went to the hospital to get stitches after a fall, completely unrelated to my heart, and while being admitted I passed out. When I passed out they noticed my heart rate dropped below 40. So after two days in the hospital for observation my heart rate never got above 47. I think that's ok for a marathon runner or an Olympic athlete but I'm far from one:p.

Yeah, I'm a runner. I run 20 miles a week but I'm far from an Olympian or a marathoner, but my resting heart rate varies between 47 to 52. Has been for awhile now. Have pretty low blood pressure as well, about 107 over 68 on the low side. Every once in awhile, I get really lightheaded when I stand up after sitting down for awhile, especially after a vape session. Doesn't happen all the time though.

When I run, I train at between 117 to 137. 70 years old.

Being that my dad had a pacemaker put in when he was in his 60's, I asked my doc about it and she said that as long as I wasn't passing out when standing up from too low of a heart beat, I was ok as is although I've heard of how much more energy one can have after having a pacemaker installed.

Hmmm.......:hmm:

My dad got a pace maker about 8 months before me for a slow heartrate also. He is 62. He got light headed while driving one day, luckily he was by a hospital and drove right in safely, two days later he had it installed. He has mentioned a noticeable difference in energy. For me, I never really had any issues other than that time I passed out at the hospital. I maybe fainted a handful of times in the past 20yrs. But I always figured it was just the herb:p. After my couple days at the hospital I had to wear a heart monitor for a couple weeks. The monitor showed that my heart would just randomly stop for up to 4 seconds. The Doctors biggest concern was that one day it might stop and just not start back up.

my uncle was elderly, about late 70's when these issues came up.. his pace maker& difribulator (spelling) where old.. i am sure if there were issues with electronics at casinos, that they would have figured out a solution..can't be that many being rushed to the hospital from winning or losing
