@Tweak, I just recently posted in the Lotus thread about cost but here's the jist of it: Originally I asked for a $35 piece, but after the creation, the pipemaker said that they could sell it for $50. They honored my $35+shipping budget, but I wouldn't be surprised if they will start charging $50+shipping.

I had to test it with some bowls in the name of science and got blasted first thing in the morning.. :ko: Tried it with small loads, big loads, high temp hits and low temp hits, they all give great taste but I couldn't sense any difference from the aluminum Lotus pipe at all.

It works great with water and better imo without! If you add water it also filters herb particles of course and that's not bad when you have a sensitive throat.

And guess what!!! It can stand on it's own thanks to the little blobs of glass at the bottom! It sits steadier in the first photo and when the Lotus is in it, it even stands upright, although not so steady. Small differences… The slightest bump will throw it down so I better be careful..

I added a cheap e-cig silicone mouthpiece for added comfort but removed it since… I like it better without.

Only think that bothered me a little but I guess I'll learn to live with it until I get another one is that the Lotus needs to be placed in a 18/14 LowPro adapter and that raises it to exactly eye level so the view I have when I draw is this:

Watching the centre of the hot plate on the Lotus is quite tricky with such a view and I have to implement my super depth perception powers to be accurate and don't burn the wood! :p I hope a 18mm WA will eventually come out so I can lower it a bit or I might find another j-hook with a more acute angle at some time in the future. Not a big issue but it would be easier with a slightly different design.

It should become my home piece of choice of course from now on as I find it more joyful to use than my Ehle bong and I like to be able to also see the vapor when hitting the Lotus. Less diffusion or no diffusion means better taste! With this I can do smaller hits and keep vaporizing my load for longer it seems.

It also seems to match great with my Hot Pod and Solo as well and I hope to do some more testing today...

I just emailed Lotus Glass and asked Jesse if he has a store. I see he has moved to Dallas and I would love to see more of his stuff first hand. We actually have a custom glass guy in the town I live in but his mother (?) runs the place.:uhoh: Pricey too!:disgust:

sorry for the late reply. I have been absolutely swamped lately. It's just crazy here and it is not letting up, which is really odd for this time of year.

To answer your question, no, I don't have a retail location. Just a small studio that I work out of by myself. I am afraid that I usually don't have much in the way of inventory. At times like this, I have nothing on hand except a personal piece because I am too busy just trying to keep up with orders. When things slow down, I try to build up a little stock of the more popular stuff, but I honestly have no idea when I will be able to do that again. Probably sometime mid summer I am guessing.

Hey @ataxian, I know it's a bit late but I thought I'd let you know that Colie Glass haven't closed down. They just don't have a webstore at the moment, just the frontpage on their website and the tumblr. It looks like they've still got an instagram page as well. People have to contact Andy using his email address highproduction@ymail.com if they want one of their designs or something custom.

I tried to post some pictures in the thread for Andy the other week but the links seemed to go dead after a day or so, I guess they weren't through the instagram. Which is a shame because some of the stuff looked pretty cool.

@Fenton Mewley That wooden J-hook looks cool, surely a Gandalf design is the next logical step?

I wanted to make a custom piece at some point. Just buying the cheap stuff from DHGATE until I figure it out? I don't use instagram however thanks for his email! I'll contact him once I have my drawing.

I've designed a simple 3D printed j-hook stand. I want to confirm this shape works well with many different j-hooks before I add to my shop.

And it looks like @ataxian is the winner! His collection of J-hooks will surely put this design to the test!

I don't know if it will work for all j-hook designs, but I think it should work well with most traditional j-hooks. Here's a sneak peek at the current design. As usual, this is a fully parametric design. I can adjust every parameter to fit any j-hook

(This one was designed to be small enough to fit into a small USPS flat rate shipping box to keep shipping costs down, while hopefully still relatively 'universal')

Looking at it now, it might also double as a cheap universal e-cig pen stand

It's perfect with the PNP.
Keeps the overall size very portable.

Looking at getting a j hook for my inline ash catcher. Is there much difference comfort wise between the regular tips and the spoon ones? I like the look of the regular tip but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be because the diameter is kinda small.

I was just a little concerned because the GoG seems really close to the upstem in the picture that looper posted and know my caps radius is about an inch.

Seems like the ebay seller is out of stock though aw shucks.
