Concentrate dealers?

Radio

There is a lot of buzz at the moment regarding shatter and concentrates. Now, I know this sounds stupid (it probably is) (and I am in no way asking where or how to acquire illegal substances) but hypothetically speaking, is this something that your local weed dealer sells now, or is it a specialty item that must be ordered online or home-made using your own personal supply of herb?

It's been a while since I was involved in the whole black market trade of such things, and I was wondering if the scene had changed so much that finding concentrates and shatter is a normal and regular thing, just as it is to find herb.

Any answers or insights are appreciated, and again; forgive my stupidity. The whole concept is very new to me.

I do have people I could ask about this who still smoke and know how to get what they want, but I think they'd get the wrong idea considering I don't really get high anymore.
Word would get back to my girlfriend if I started asking about where to find shatter  it's good to know though. For some reason I thought that people were buying concentrates online

When I buy from a good friend I'm mainly able to get flowers but sometimes a little hash. Just recently got my mmj cert. and able to go to dispensaries where I'm able to buy oils and waxes. I can get edibles and salves too. I live in WA state.

We pretty much have established that Australia is the worst country to buy weed in lol

Poorly dried (almost never cured and even rarer that it is properly cured) weed, very expensive, almost no option of strains, moldy flowers are not unusual, no concentrates market to speak of.

Not to mention traditional Aussie bongs suck lol, they all seem to use all manner of unhealthy materials!

Spot on. In my experience as a heavy stoner for 6 years, all I got was shit bush-bud. Cured poorly, either still moist and sticky (in a bad way..) or dry and crumbly and brown. And strains? Haha.. The circles I traveled in only smoked the finest of the fine, and in 6 years we had the choice of trying a popular strain of weed TWICE. I had white widow ONCE.. How fucked is that.
We got shit weed and that was still the best stuff that anyone in 100 mile radius could get their hands on.
Lol. I'm lucky that now that I want to try cannabis again that a friend has grown his own strain and cured it properly :) So I can atleast try something decent after all this time

Here in California, I know a dealer who has waxes. He offered me a hit once when I went to his house after not seeing him for a long time. It was bomb shatter like what you can pick up at the dispensaries.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's an MMJ patient.

What's Australia's stance on weed though? I mean, it wouldn't be such a bad country if you could grow your own there. I mean, you have the outback with killer spiders and snakes. What's a harmless little old plant going to do.

Man, you can't grow your own without going to jail in most states. Even without previous offences. There are some states where you can grow your own and will be fined if you are caught, but no criminal proceedings.

Also, for you yanks who need earlz and get the travel bug, you're welcome to come by casa del herbivore for probably the finest concentrates Australia has to offer ;)

For what it's worth, Canada also has an odd stance on concentrates: 100% not permitted. I can keep a pound of "denatured" cannabis lying around, as part of my medicinal license, and not be charged for it, but the second I concentrate it using alcohol washing, or any other method, I've become a criminal. I guess the government doesn't want me recycling my denatured product, and would instead rather I use it for compost. I can only see this as having to change some time in the near future, as this "flowers only" policy seems very archaic and I can't think of an altogether reasonable excuse for restricting people access to more concentrated forms of medication. To use an analogy, sometimes you want to drink beer, and sometimes you want to drink rum. Neither one should be more or less readily available than the others. Sadly, this means that while I've had access to seem very high grade street hash, and often make my own by putting denatured product through a good alcohol bath, true medicinal grade concentrates are something I still remain itching to try some day. David Bowie actually said at a concert I attended that the best hash he ever smoked was in my home town, and yes, I know that he probably says that at half of the cities he tours through, but I still thought it was hilarious.

Concentrates are not necessarily even classified in our criminal code.

For example, kief, hash, flowers/leaf and hash oil are classified. However, technically, the word oil describes a stable liquid with high viscosity. Shatter, Crumble and even wax do not fit this description.

Hence, these are not necessarily classified ;)

Only one state in Australia allows people to grow like 2 small plants for personal use (I'm pretty sure) and it's in the middle of the fucking country in the shittest possible place to be.
But as far as dispensaries and legalization, we are a long way away. Our current bullshit agendas by the politics circus involves taxes, taxes and gay marriage.
The word marijuana is only brought up on the news when some local dealers have been arrested for having a pound of it.

@Deja Vu Those states don't exactly let you grow mate. The Australian Capital Territory will let you off without any criminal offence and with only a small fine and no court appearance though!

I believe South Australia is somewhat similar in this regard.

There is nowhere where anything about psychadelic cannabis is legal in this country. There are places which will send you to court ordered rehab for a joint though, as opposed to those which will just fine you a small amount and maybe confiscate it. That gives you guys an idea of the range of cannabis laws here lol

The supply in OZ sucks.
Thats why I started my cab grow all those years ago. A few strains purchased through mail order does my needs.
Concentrates are unkown here so you have to make your own. I started with ethanol washes then imported a tami and have not looked back.

@4tokin is on the money. It's either DIY or the elusive super rare boutique dealer if you want flowers worth bothering with. Concentrates are DIY only - even hash for the most part lol

herbivore21,

Dabs are vapor too!
You have all just convinced me to never move to your beautiful country. What a shame, about all of this.

My heart goes out to the folks down under! I was just reading about your super high prices, and now this! Well crap! I want to move there, maybe in a few years it will be better.

These Cali guys - sheesh - they get to go shopping for cannabis like we shop for doughnuts!

What was the name of that pretty sheila who got caught in Bali or something....watched a TV show on her.
She got a life sentence, but they reduced it. They got her dad for growing too.

Oh, and to answer the question, yes, they're available here. Yep, I would say "normal and regular". Although it's funny, most people are still suspicious of it.

@pigfoot, don't let this get in the way of you moving here, if you move to Sydney or Melbourne, there are amazing flowers to be had, even in Perth. You just need to know the right people ;)

Also, Sydney has a 3 warning cannabis caution system for non violent offenders who have no other violent/drug criminal record there. This is only if you are caught with up to 30g. You will receive no fine, no record and just have your herb confiscated if you are caught. Some cops won't even do that.

In Melbourne, there is a diversion program, where if you are caught with anything up to 50g (stupid, just under 2 ounces, which an individual may reasonably buy for themselves so as not to spend exhorbitant amounts of money on the same amount in smaller quantities) - you will have the option of going to a treatment meeting instead. Obviously, you need to claim cannabis dependence to do this (yes, it is a thing as far as psychologists/psychiatrists/neurosciences are concerned - well actually the DSM V calls it something else). Cannabis dependence does not imply a physical addiction, only a deep-seated psychological habit which is pursued at the expense of other aspects of one's life/livelihood (relationships breaking down around the individual, losing work, losing home, unable to take care of self properly etc). I won't go too far into the issues with this concept, which I'm sure many of you will be able to point out (chicken or egg problem is still prominent in this field - mental illness, or cannabis, which came first, and which caused which, if at all?)

As I said above, our criminal codes do not necessarily cover shatter/wax/crumble/honeycomb yet. This is a great time if you love your earlz.

Speaking of which, I ran into an acquaintance who saw BHO doco on Vice and decided to make their own. DOING THE BUTANE WASH/PURGE INDOORS!

I may have saved a life or two and an apartment building bumping into those friends so close to when they were attempting that lol.

Earlz are getting here, slowly but surely :)
