I am making a copy here of what I wrote in the beta section:

After having the LB for a few days I have some thoughts comparing it to the VG.

Some things that matter to me on a vape are quality of medicinal extraction (how effective is it at getting your meds into your system), taste of herbs, and how much vapor can I see when I breath out.

1) LB gets me more medicated than the VG. The LB seems more efficient for sure.

2) I actually think that the VG produces a stronger flavor of what ever herb I am vaping. Which I like.

3) The VG produces much more visible vapor (which is probably why it delivers more flavor).

Now it is totally possible that I can figure out or learn how to get as much vapor and/or flavor from the LB. If anyone has thoughts on this, let me know. It is likely that I just have much more experience with the VG.

Some things other people may care about that aren't as important to me (again compared to the VG):

How stealthy is it? Launch Box is more stealthy

Cooler looking? I'd personally give it to the LB again.

Get nifty "what the???" kind of reactions from friends? LB again.

Safety? I would think that the LB is safer than the VG just because it doesn't use a lighter. I know for sure I have sometimes slightly burned my self with the hot metal from a lighter while using the VG because you have to have it on for long times to build up the heat.

For a new user, I think that the LB has a shorter learning curve and could be a better choice for a first time vaporor (vaporizer user).

That's all I can think of for now. I can only compare it to the VG since that is the only other device I have. I have used a volcano twice, and a vapor bros 5 times. It's not really fair to compare them since the price and style are sooooo different. But, if money was no object, I think for the way I use vapes, I still got better results with the LB than the VaporBros, and it is way more convenient than either of the VBros or the Volcano. I am not at all saying that the LB is better than these others, just that I think it actually is better for me and the way I would use them.

Over all, I am finding myself using the LB as my only vape, and feel it is "f'n fantastic!"

I myself own a vaporwarez and a volcano, and this does look very appealing to me.

One thing i have found to be very helpful is a lot of pictures and/or videos. This seems to help me get to know the device a little bit before i buy it. Here are a few suggestions from me (They are in no way meant to be taken offensively, just some helpful tips from a consumer:D):

1. More videos, more pictures, and more information. More multimedia on the different options, and the device itself and when in use. This will help alot, IMO

Basically that is it. I am very interested in buying one of these for myself, but the lack of visual media of the device kind of pushes me away honestly. I like to see what i am buying and how it is used before i go ahead and use my money.

Youtube videos, and a gallery section on the website would be extremely helpful

Don't take anything i say offensively, it's all in good intentions:D

I love my LB. I use it so much I've been able to replace combustion nearly entirely - and to that end I am looking to save my battery life and increase at home usability by making my own battery eliminator - that is if I can work up the cajones and how to do it, and MF doesnt offer one first lol.
get a little AA battery sized case, drill you a hole,
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.3657
except theres not metal for the - ring... drat.

Strip one of these babies and wire it up, and you're good to go... question mark? lol. let me know what you all think.

Hi,

You can find some pictures at http://magic-flight.com/box_gallery.htm
You can also download the instructions that ship with the Box
at http://magic-flight.com/ixmainfiles/launch_box_dir_4.PDF
We will be adding more info as soon as we can integrate it.

We are also working on some new vids. We even have a few, but cannot post them yet (have to get it cleared with the lawyer first -- might be awhile). Existing Box owners are encouraged to post their own usage videos in the interm.

Hi,

The devices you listed will not provide enough power to be useful -- I recommend you save your money for the guaranteed to work option: one of the 15 minute chargers. I have talked to one of our engineers and he indicated that an appropriate power supply could be built, but that it would probably cost around $80 just in itself. Apparently, there needs to be two stages of energy regulation just to make it possible, along with some custom connector components. In any case, it is getting looked into. No promises as to when (or even if) this will work out, but at least it is getting considered.

As far as battery life is concerned, I would not worry about it too much. Even an heavy user who works the Box several times a day can expect the rechargeable batteries to last quite a long time (think months, if not years). Although we do not make the batteries, we have found them to be very reliable over the long term.

Yeah, too expensive.

I half expected to need 1.21 Gigawatts and an old crazy guy w/white hair to run lightening down to the unit!

I dig the new magicflight website! http://magic-flight.com Paraphrasing is totally cool w/me - I knew all that medication would come in handy! :D
Can't wait to re-join the group! ;)

dually noted and exercised, thanks for the tip. If it does end up being to expensive... desktop/plug in model of some sort of device way down the line? eh? eh?
lol either way, using batteries at home or anywhere for that matter is easy enough, and now that you've soothed my irrational fears of both accidental discharge and poor bat life I certianly won't be heartbroken without the bat eliminator. But it would be cool. lol. Thanks again for looking into it,
krims

edit:
oh yeah and as my contribution to the review thread... I bought an II about a week before my box came, I enjoyed the II but thought it had its downfalls. It (the II) fills its niche though I suppose, but at the same time in the week or two since my box has come the II has been gathering dust. lol, box wins by a mile for many reasons - and is less expensive even after I gripped a fast charger and like 16 2400 mah bats. yeah, MF LB ftw.

@ duh, lol. I picture myself plugging a homebrew bat eliminator in, pushing it into the box being flung across the room mcfly in front of the giant amp style. classic.

The Magic Flight Launch Box
(brought over from other MF thread)

I would say this is a great vape to compare mainly with any lighter based portable vape such as the vapor genie and I would compare it to the vapir oxygen at the far end to the ubie on the low end.

I have to say it is a very good solid little vape that should appeal to those who are looking for a vape to bridge small gaps of time between a desktop or home vaporizer.

The construction is simple and should not have breakage issues as other more complicated portable vapes have.

It also is a very fast vape to use, generally in the time frame it takes one to smoke a bowl or smoke a joint. It also has very little to barely noticeable smell and it is totally silent. Do not expect much visible vapor but it does get you where you want to be.

Any where you may smoke a joint, bowl, cigarette or whatnot you can use the launch box. I fit mine in an eyeglass case with a zipper, it holds everything perfectly or it can easily fit into a pocket. I recommend grinding your weed fine.

Keep in mind this is not a desktop/home vape such as PD, DBV, Vaporwarez, Vapor Bros, SSV etc. To think of it along those lines is to make an incorrect comparison.

For those in the market for a quick inexpensive, functional portable vape that can be easily used in outdoor and indoor locations this little box just might be the magic you are looking for. It is with confidence that I recommend the magic flight launch box in that respect.

Sincerely,
Beezleb

Looks good! Would really appreciate a proper video demo of the completed product in use, though, as it's hard to grasp how it works from just looking at it.

Is there anyone here who would be able to make/post a good introduction/instructional vid on how to use the Box? -- its going to be days (weeks?) before I will get the required approvals for an 'official' vid that I can post.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Send me one and I'll do it for you! ;)

Since it's gonna be a while before we get a video, perhaps you could write a little more about how the box works? The vaporpedia entry describes it as a 'conduction' vape, which have historically been a bit crappy. How does it differ from these older designs?

This was covered (asked & answered) in the old thread http://www.fuckcombustion.com/viewtopic.php?pid=19408#p19408

Atty, here is how I use mine.

I insert battery
wait a handful of seconds, less than five and
take a slow long draw for 20 seconds or thereabouts,
disconnect battery while still drawing to clear.
turn MB over to stop vaporizing and shake
shake side to side to get weed back in trench,
insert battery, and start cycle over
rinse and repeat and until desired doneness.

The answers to your other questions can be found in the magicflight beta thread.
