Concentrates on a Plane

How risky is it to bring concentrates (QWISO) with you on a domestic flight? My friend is traveling and he (my friend) has no connections in that town. How much of a risk is he taking?

It's always a risk, but how bad can concentrates smell? And are dogs really familiar with that stuff?

Its so small you could hide it inside something.. I'd actually want to try it just for the hell of it.

Put it in your shaving gels/razors/shaving cream/cotton swabs. It'd just look like wax in a container, or a little bottle of like.. oil or something.

Lets play HIDE THE CONCENTRATE!

I'm not an expert but I have a strong opinion
It is a pretty big risk to fly with anything illegal. Odds are good that you can get away with it...but the consequences are pretty severe I would imagine. Not saying don't do it....just be well aware of the consequences.

That said a "friend" had a ball of bubble hash he wanted to take to vegas. The ball was shrink wrapped in plastic and right before going through security it was popped in his mouth and covered by some gum my friend was chewing. Seemed to work just fine. Lots of people chew gum on flights and as far as I know their scanning machines aren't supposed to scan the head/face area (privacy I guess).

I flew a month ago with some shatter. My backpack has a zipper that goes all the way around that extends the width of the bag by a couple inches. Had it wrapped in cellophane and put it all the way at the beginning of the zipper and zipped it all the way up. All they look for is guns and knives, anything that looks dangerous. Also had a couple painkillers in a bottle of advil, different shaped pills even, security said nothing. A big bag of buds is a little more obvious although a friend puts his bud in foil lined potato chip bags sealed backup with a food saver and never had an issue.

Buy empty capsules at almost any vitamin store . Fill them up , put the capsules in a bottle with multivitamins and other random pills. If you get caught say you got them from a herbalist for help with sleep (not totally untrue)

But Has anyone had trouble getting a portable or pen on a plane?

I'm not even sure about the consequences of getting caught with concentrates on the street. Is it the same as herb?
You say consequences would be severe, but why is it any different than getting caught with it on the street? Do they automatically charge you with trafficking?

I bring my ecig with a couple bottles in my zip lock bag and they've never batted an eye. Haven't got to try yet but I think ejmix would work well just keep it sealed well so the air pressure doesn't make it leak out. Maybe bring a couple new carts and put the stash somewhere else. Leave the rest out in the open and hide the stash between electronic items like I pad and chargers, spare batteries. They'll never find it.

I don't think law has caught up with these new innovative ways to get high. They would treat it the same as hash IMO

Not true at all, hash oil is treated MUCH harsher:
http://www.ussc.gov/guidelines-manual/2012/2012-2d11
Getting caught with between 20-50 grams of BHO is equivalent to 200-500 g of hash (7-28 oz) or 1-2.5 kilograms (2.2-5.5 lbs). You get fucked in the ass hard if you get caught with BHO and they have it out for you (by their equivalency chart 1 g oil = 50 g bud).

RE: taking wax on a plane I know several people who do this regularly, it's incredibly easy with hash oil, you can just put it in a yellow padded envelope and tape with paper on both sides and pad the fuck out of it. I've brought my vape pen and smoked it on a plane no problem (no wax, just what I put in the pen). I personally wouldn't bring any more than the pen because if they do open your bag for whatever reason and they catch that on you, you are fucked, cus there's no excuse at that point it's inter-state trafficking.

But that's very low chance like less than 1%. Still, personally I'd rather just ship all the wax I wanted and have it waiting for me there, much less stress involved.

I actually thought of shipping my e nano (just in case any herb fell into the heating element) so maybe I'll go that route and hide the hash oil somewhere in there. IF I take anything with me on the plane, it will be no more than 1 gram. I'm not the type of person that likes to take chances, but it just seems like the chances of getting caught are minimal. I do use e-cigs, so I will have E-juice+tanks+batteries on my possession and in my luggage so it will be easy to hide stuff there.
the plan right now is to buy a new KISS oil cartridge, and make a QWISO run. After that I'll think it through some more.
BTW I live in Canada, so I'm not sure if the laws are the same. I doubt it, but I just wanted to ask anyway.

My bro just got busted with 4 tubes of oil. 4 grams. In separate syringes. He caught 4 felonies. They weighed each tube on a scale. Each one was over 21g, and he got 4 charges of possession over 21g. This was in Florida. I've used a headvape (gentlemans) vape on a plane plenty of times. Ghost that shit!

It greatly varies by the governing body's of various states, locations and etc... Here in NY their is a 5 year mandatory minimum per 1 gram of " marijuana concentrates ". If one were going anywhere near an airport loaded with police, one should not even consider bringing it with them inside.

There is something I dont get; what about the dogs? They can smell it where ever you put it. If it was just about disguising it for view, Id take the risk. But dogs will smell it. How are they used? Taken out?

By reading and talking here and there, feels like those dogs are rarely taken out. Seems like my idea of random drug smelling dog walks to detect drugs is just in my head. Never heard or read about getting caught by the random drug smelling dog walking

I've been flying for 30 years and don't think I've ever once seen a dog at an airport. Not to say they aren't there, just I myself have never seen one. I think these days most people are scared to even travel with their stash and those that do are carrying such small quantities it's not even worth the paper the citation is written on to screw with you. Screeners are looking for weapons and bombs, and so are the dogs. If I remember correctly most dogs are trained for drugs, or weapons, not both.

Now in all reality they could be sniffing the hell out of checked baggage, who knows?

Dogs are at the airport loads of times...but I guess if they were 'drug-sniffers' their training obviously did not work so well...maybe their 'trainer' forgot to give the dog that 'special' signal?

I mean, do you not smell the bullshit, hehe smell it? I mean, every dollar bill you ever had in your hands has traces of cocaine on it. And I cannot imagine those dogs not smelling some oil I spilled on my pants just before heading of to the airport...

Many times I almost shit my pants lol, but every time they just walked by...

Not saying it is safe and/or recommended...just saying it isn't all what it seems to be:2c:

Can't believe nobody's said this yet! But for oil just the dissolve it in 100ml of ISo and stick it in a nail polish remover bottle. Standard business.

As for hash I just put it in my change pocket of my jeans in my bag. If they find it ill claim ignorance and apologise. No I intent means a much lower charge.

I've never been stateside though, in Europe they really couldn't give a toss about Percy amounts.

Good luck

I've flown with my microG pen and wax a few times now, no problems. I throw the wax in my toiletry bag, or my makeup bag, and throw the pen in my purse. There's always so much stuff in each one that they get lost on the scanners. If I want to be extra safe I'll separate the 2 pieces of the pen and throw them in separate pockets of my purse.

Wait, did I say I flew with wax?? I meant my friend flew with wax. I would never do such a thing, I'm a good girl! :D

It's like lightning, it's just the odds. Some borders are worse than others. Do we just close our eyes and run across the street? Sometimes we do. It's all so hideous it causes some sort of disconnect. The herb is more detectable, but is a lesser legal liability. In the US, concentrates are the new bugaboo. The same people who believe our president is the antichrist, are convinced it's like crack.

You may or may not know how even in 2013 California, in LA, where there are more legal "pot shops" than chicken and waffle restaurants, people with all the proper legal Medical Cannabis paperwork, like Dr. Michele Ross, have been charged with felonies - in State courts - for traces of concentrate in a muscle liniment (see around 27:00 on the clip). It's a cultural and political polarization. It's ain't over yet.

BTW, I have seen young Californians joke on camera about "I don't remember what my recommendation says". This is stupid and dangerous beyond words. Please don't EVER do this.

p.s. I heard the dogs are trained on one of the terpenes, apparently beta-caryophyllene. It's been purged out many clear concentrates - making them also less medically effective. None at all in Pure Gold.

Although I've smoked for years, I have legitimate medical issues now that qualify me for MMJ. I completely agree that people making light of their reasons is not good for the community as a whole. You don't look cool, kiddos, you're just giving MMJ detractors more fuel for their fire.

Politicians comparing concentrates to crack makes sense, since they totally didn't understand that crack is just another form of cocaine.

I just got back from Hawaii where I brought 4 grams of oil and my ghost pen. I put the pen with some ecig stuff in a case, then emptied out a carmex container and filled it with oil. Smoothed it out to look like carmex would and put it with my bag of toiletries. Even brought a bit back with me
Carry on or check. Im hoing to Hawaii less than a month
