Glass stirrer

I've looked in just using a normal glass swizzle stick (drink stirrer) for mixing herbs in the vape mid-way through roasting them but I don't trust something cheap like that. What do you guys use to mix your herbs around in the vape? I want to be able to stick something in there without it breaking or setting on fire.

Would metal be a bad thing to put in a 250 degree glass vape just to stir herbs? Thanks in advance

Also: obviously something like this is ideal but I don't like buying shit off ebay. I prefer other online stores with a decent reputation, also I'm in Australia and cbf with american postage

I think a stainless steel dental pick ( at hardware stores) or maybe small stainless manicure/pedicure tools (at pharmacy) would work well. It it not as if you will have torch-like heat. You may also look into clay modeling tools from a craft store. Ebay is not all bad. I bought a glass pad (think mousepad) from ebay and when checking out I realized that I was actually buying from a LHS. I called and picked it up and saved him some shipping.

Good point. You don't think a dental pick or mani/pedi tools will scratch the glass though?

Thanks Diehard, i'll just be delicate with it I guess. I'm not really SCRAPING the inside of it for a few herbs so I doubt I'd leave any scratches. Saves me the money of forking out $20 for some hand-blown exquisite looking glass poking stick.. :p
Infact a dental pick is a bloody good idea now that I take a look at it

I like using a bamboo ear pick when I'm using a bowl big enough for it (rarely), it is very glass friendly and I've been abusing the same one for over 2 years - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ear_pick

There are few old threads here that may have some info for you, Ear pick & Pokey Sticks.

My new personal favorite is this - https://www.happydaddyproducts.net/product-listing/tools/4-the-pipe-pal ... the picture isn't the best, a retailer probably has a better one. The tip is nice and thin to get where you want it, but also just wide enough to move things around.

No worries of scratching glass with any of these... unless you really try.

Right now I use a e-pick from epic vape the most. It also is made to remove the elbow screens from the bowl of the ev2 which uses the same bowled screens as the EQ so you may find it useful also.

EDIT; The arizer glass stir tool is pretty nice, I think that with the e-pick to remove the hot bowl/screen will do you right.

I got tired of losing my picks so I settled on Bamboo Sewers:

They are cheap and plenty (< $2), so I just leave them laying around at various vaping spots. They can be cut to size and/or sharpened on both ends or left flat on one end for tamping down your load or pulling/pushing a screen around. I can't recommend them enough.

I use my metal picks for scraping up reclaim to mix in with my load.

I use several items, whichever is within reach:

  • A standard nail. Similar to what is included when you buy The Hammer Vaporizer.
  • a golf tee. I do not play golf anymore, but like the bamboo skewers, you can loose them without worry and they are very functional as a stir stick. I use the flatter side when packing/spreading out herb in my Plenty/Volcano carts.
  • Herb scooper from Mendo. I hold it by the bucket end and use the handle side to stir and turn over my herb.
