I have a couple of science questions for you lab experts:

1). Why does the herb in the trench go in the opposite direction of the draw?

2). Is it possible to take an Indica strain, and through tempuature control, make it respond as a Sativa? Do you have a technique that you use to change the effects of the medicine?

Not sure what you mean by your first question but as for the second q - no. Not really.

You may find lower temps will stop the heavier aspects of an indica high but it will not be as a sativa. The high varies quite a lot strain to strain so just experiment.

Watch what happens to the herb when you take a draw. Instead of coming toward your mouth as you suck, the herb is pulled toward the back end of the trench (away from your mouth). I find this interesting. There must be a logical scientific explanation for this.

Ps, this is easier to observe when you have less than a full trench. It's also more noticeable on the back end of the session as the herb dries out.

Notice how the air channel is at an angle respective to the shape of the area where the trench is... it'll swirl around if you draw too hard and rest where there's least resistance.

If your flower is swirling on every hit, you're pulling too hard.

I can't see anything while drawing usually. I tend to draw very slowly to control temperature, just saw the tornado a few times for fun after releasing battery, never thought much about it. :D

just got my ebay finishing grinder in mail so heres a dumb question for FC since I know they have the same warranty as the LB and PA: do all finishing grinders have no serial number or did I get a fake one off ebay. It looks legit and the tin has a silk screened logo instead of a sticker

That makes perfect sense. Unless you're already laser engraving it (like on the box itself) that's an extra cost I don't think we'd like to pay? There is, of course, no requirement for such a serial number to start with and as we see with other vapes, numbering your product can actually lead to problems, complaints and misunderstandings to sort out.

I seriously doubt replacement of the grinders will ever be as popular as box replacement gets? Your chances of finding an 'already replaced/orphan' grinder on Craig's list is pretty small.

word thanks guys, the finishing grinder is nothing but quality I'm so glad I picked one up, so much better than getting sore fingers picking at the nug until you can't get it any finer. Now if only my fucking probation was over......less than a week

Final reminder (I promise this time, I really do....) if you were on the list for 4/20 stems and didn't get it by now something has happened....please PM me and I'll check into it and try again. One fellow PM'd me saying he'd been overlooked (most likely), misaddressed (also likely) or the PO had lost it.

I'll clear up any problems, make whatever stems are needed (I have about 3 feet left) and mail them out next week.

I'm sorry for anyone's 'order' I managed to goof up, but will make it right if you tell me.

Thanks and good Mother's day to one and all.

I just have a quick question about the concentrate trays. Would I use the unscreened tray for some pressed kief or just use the MFLB as is?

I just ordered the concentrate tray. Kief works in the standard trench but has a tendency to get very sticky. I want to do all kief and not just sprinkle a little in so I'm opting for the tray.

My only question is: should I use the screened or unscreened for pure kief?

I suggest the one without the pad, it (the one with the pad) works best for oils and waxes that melt and without the pad would be looking to spilling out on the screen of the host box.

Just lived through a 4 hour power cut. Man it was rough... I had to read!

God bless the MFLB + batteries. I thank Ganesh that I recently bought a set of Powerex 2700s.

The PA is super cool, but when the power runs out and we are eating each-other, the MFLB (with batts) will give us a bit more Zen before we are lunch. Or before we work out a new power source I guess.

Sounds to me like you need a car cord to go with that PA? Then you could sit in the car and watch the neighbors doing without.......

Just coming back to say that is anyone is thinking of it that smaller vapecase for the MFLB is so worth it. Im glad i picked that package deal. Im not so nervous carrying my box now that i know no one can smell me. Though funny enough i caught a wiff of a strong indica standing in line at the pharmacy lol they were clearly having some hot boxing before going in ;). So if scent is a concern its worth a shot, its been able to contain my heavier indica scents and the scent didnt stick to the container when i took it out. I only left the baggies int here a week but its a good start

Hi SiDankies,

my box works best for me with a 3x5 second rule. 5 seconds pre-heat, 5 seconds slow draw with battery still heating and another 5 seconds draw without battery. I tell my mates to try to inhale over 15 seconds in one draw before handing them my box, this speed seems to be a good slow draw speed.
If your hitting it native you can start holding it to your mouth in pre-heat phase to save a bit of escaping vapor.

But be aware that every box seems to differ a bit, when yours is running hotter it may combust already. Or when your batteries are growing old it may not get hot enough. Also you want to grind your herb as fine as you can get it.

Greetings

I have been using my PNP a lot i want to start using my MFLB again.. whats the best draw technique for best hits? I broke my glass stems so im using it native only.

I suggest you start out by reviewing the excellent Vaporpedia page, edited by our own Pak. You can get to it with the Vaporpedia link upper left but here's the page:

Welcome back to a first rate vape! I'm sure it'll all come back to you. Keep it dry, batteries charged, grind fine, don't overload and shake, shake, shake.....

the power supply makes this into a fine adjustable heating unit, you can set the temp high down to low, can take steady draws and keep the unit into the sweet zone, getting the most vapor possible without combustion. and it is great to use this portable like a house unit. set it on lower temp gets lots of flavor, turning it up gets more vapor (for the cloud chasers).
