New vape or save the money?

Okay guys, so I just started smoking/vaping a month or so ago and I love it. I just turned 18, still live at home, working in a family owned restaurant 3 days a week. I don't own a car, but my parents let me use theirs. I recently just practically emptied my bank account on weed & a vape, plus I have a girlfriend so ya know that takes up a fair bit. I was wondering, should I get a more efficient vape, rather than my pax. Like get an underdog and still have my pax? Is it worth it to spend the rest of my money on another vaporizer? I have an ounce of weed at the moment. Wondering if it's best for me to get an UD and use less weed so I can save for a car. Or just use my pax & save for a car. Sorry if this is a jumbled mess, I vaped a bit before writing....(also I vape to relieve stress from work, my restaurant I work at is a very high stress job. & I have mild scoliosis which gives me back pain from being on my feet all day)

Oofta! Tough question here, that's for sure.

The obvious answer is of course, no more vapes, save your money for a car, etc. But... if we dive in just a little deeper here...

As someone who has owned 3 diff. log vapes, I can tell you with certainty, it's darn tough or possibly impossible to beat their efficiency. They can, in theory, save you money.

But what I sense is beginning to happen here is a vaporizer collection. Sure, the UD will save you money, but... it also might make you just want more vapes, negating what you save.

On the other hand, now is the perfect time to buy shit. You live at home, you have probably no bills to pay... why not maybe enjoy it a bit and buy something you don't need?

But your own car.... man. Wouldn't that be worth more than a vape collection?

We'd have to know more about your vaping habits before moving on, IMO. Is a desktop going to work for you at home, or do you need a portable?

Based on the info given, if it were me, I'd sell the PAX, get an E-Nano (different type of log), and put yourself on the HI waiting list (my favorite of the logs).

Or get a Solo and have close to log-like efficiency while also having a portable to avoid any... embarrassing situations...

I like the idea of having a portable vape for on the go. Like especially going over to friends houses or just hanging out after work with a few co workers.

But kind of want something else for just vaping alone in my room. I make a fair amount of money at my job & possibly may be able to pickup an extra day.

I don't think I'll start a vape collection, considering my mom is against smoking & doesn't know I do. My dad knows, just knows how it is.

Also I haven't heard of the HI? Is there a link you could post to more info?

The HI (Heat Island) is in the plug-in sub forum. Unfortunately, the waiting time is still close to 1 year. :ugh:

Sounds like the Solo would be perfect for you, but others will certainly chime in and give you more options. :)

here's the link. I enthusiastically endorse the HI, especially for someone who has to keep on the down low. It's tiny and inconspicuous. Sadly, there's the wait. The E nano and Underdog are also reputedly very good. Get on the list, it's free. …...http://toasty-top.com

Which would be best for me? The E nano or UD? Like the 2 minute heat up sounds nice on the E nano.

Then again I'd rather not wait a long time for my vape. I'm a fairly impatient person when it comes to new toys

You could think of buying an E-Nano as an investment. You will use less material and save your money long term. However, what is you average daily usage? If you are a light user you might be better off focusing on other things.

Now on a daily basis it's around .6-.7 with my pax. That's two sessions. I normally wake n bake, then another session at night after work. If I was using less material I'd probably be having way more sessions.

ScrivGnar,
If you only vape at home I would say you would save some money but in your circumstances it is probably not absolutely necessary. If I was you I would save my money or look at something like a Herbalaire or Vapolution. They are both pretty cheap desktop models and are well regarded by many FC members.

Actually, you sound like you are hoping someone will say, "yes, you need it, go and buy it immediately". :) :) These things are addictive, be careful.

Solod out.
The solo is efficient as hell if you pack 1/4 of the bowl at a time. I imagine it will cut your consumption by a half from what you're currently using. Really a great unit. 160$, best value for money. JMO.

I may get the solo, but I still like the idea of having something like the UD which you leave on and is ready to go whenever.

Also want something that can do little amounts, with my pax it only really works with .3 & I have literally no tolerance right now & on .3 I get like completely stoned. Like to the point I'm hearing things, or it's heightened. I seem to get anxiety when "smoking" and I'm really high if something sets it off (like a loud noise in my house or something)

And Mr. Gweilo :p not exactly what I was thinking. But I really do want another vape, just hard to justify the cost. & I very well know this stuff is addicting! It's crazy how I'm more addicted to buying new things to help me get high than I am to actually getting high...

The Solo heats up in 60 seconds, a few more for the highest setting... and there's recent reports of even faster heat-up times with some newer units.

If you want something to leave on at home, the E-Nano is a great choice. If you want a vape that will do almost everything without a cord, get a Solo.

Great summary on a great vape! Long Live the Solo!!!!!

When my solo goes south, I will donate to an FC techie to see if they can repair and repurpose... but sure as sh1t I'll be ordering another, and another..... etc.... ;)

Is the solos draw resistance bad? Or did that get resolved? What do you guys prefer, or think is better for me in terms of log vapes? E nano or underdog?

Space is the Place
Buy Now save later. Your living situation sounds stable and your working making money, why not spend some on a vape you like more then the pax. Is a couple of hundred buck gonna get you a car right now ? I think not.

So buy the type of vaporizer you'll get the most use out of and an autotrader magazine then save up for that perfect eweet ride.

:2c: ... :peace:

I say get the underdog. It will last you a really long time and youll be saving money all along the ride.

Iv had mine for about 3 years now. Drop it all the time, leave it on 24/7 and it's still going strong. I use so little material when I use my UD compared to my INH, EQ, or smoking.

Plus it kicks ass.

Coming from someone not too much older than you, those problems are now memories! But still fresh in my mind!

Look, Car=Freedom (Don't forget about insurance! And DMV fees!)

You can go wherever you want! Anywhere! All you need is cash and gas!!!
Way more important than wanting to have "something for here too" that your mom can find and you can get fucked for! No more deals at school or "running dry" you got a car bro...you got that shit!

Do a little research on how to efficiently use the pax and you can get efficiency out of it.

http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/pax-vaporizer-by-ploom.6223/unread

I read about guys putting a thin layer of herbs in bottom of the oven and filling it with a folded screen to keep it down or pieces of cotton not packed in too tight but packed in real snug. They say that helps a lot and they get great vapor. Also, take breaks try not smoking a day or two out of the month. It helps lower your tolerance so less gets you higher....

Remember priorities...car...freedom!

PS: Enjoy these problems while you still can!! Red this post a few years from now you'll see what I mean:tup:

These 3 options make sense to me.
A) Get solo on credit through PayPal or a credit card and pay it off
Or
B) Make a NEW free bank account at another bank from the one you use for normal bills and start put 70 out of every extra 100 you have after bills and put that 70 toward the car. The other 30 use it for anything you want.
Or
C) Get solo and then sell Pax to make back your money(clean it good)

I have used my solo on over 100+ occasions in the past 3 months. It is a sexy beast.
