Need helping making a choice on first vape

Hey there everyone, I'm new here and I am looking for some help on making my first purchase. About 3 months ago I got to hang onto my friends vaporizer and I recently gave it back. I fell in love with it, and now that it is gone I'm looking to buy one of my own. The one I had for the 3 months was the arizer extreme and was really pleased with it, but for me, I want something portable and a tad more discrete. Something small, compact and effective is my style. I would also like something below or around $150. I've done some research and have picked three that really caught my eye and would love some input and maybe even some suggestions to other vapes that I might have over looked!

1. Davinci (http://tinyurl.com/l7rtpvm)
  • What I like: Size, heat controls, looks to be well made, oil cans.
  • Concerns: Read some people having issues with outgas, how durable is it? Hows the battery life? How easy is it to clean? Are the screens replaceable?
2. Vapir NO2 (http://tinyurl.com/l6trtqo)
  • What I like: Heat controls, has some pretty good reviews, okay size, replace battery, price.
  • Concerns: Doesn't seem to be as well made, also read some problems with outgas and battery.
3. Vapromax V Flowermate (http://tinyurl.com/lje6n2d)
  • What I like: Really discrete, looks pretty well made, like the mouth piece compartment and the light.
  • Concerns: No heat controls (not to big of a deal), not much information/reviews on it, how easy it to clean? Battery life? How durable it is it really? Replaceable screens?
I am aware of the MFLB. As pretty and awesome as it is, I'm looking for something a little more technologically advanced. Thanks for your help in advance!

Can the Solo be used while charging? I didn't think it could, which is what kinda turned me off to it.

Absolutely can. Make sure whoever you buy it from is selling "the latest model" which can be used while charging and you will be good to go.

Solod out.
They new ones can. The old ones need a power adapter (30$).
Also don't pay full price! You should get it for 160$

Hm. The solo does seem great! Definitely needs a case though, with those glass pieces. That'd be add around another 40 or so bucks. So what about the Davinci? Not up to par? Anybody have one?

I had one. It works, but issues with charging, and off gasing forced me to get rid of it. Solo is 10x better. The only area where da Vinci shines better is the portability. You don't need a case for 40$. The solo itself is built like tank. The stem you can store in a small container with some padding. Theres also the wooden stems available. You dont need to spend 40 on a case. At all.

Get the solo with eds wooden stem. Then your case is a rubber band. Get a jyarz to go with it and it fits in your case too. Fits in your pocket for just over $200 and kicks ass. Also mates with 14mm glass. I went from over twenty vapes down to seven and this setup is one of my top four.

I also recommend the Solo, I have two because I thought my first one broke (it didn't, just too high) couldn't imagine being without it, so I bought a second without even thinking about it, I own Volcano, Herbie, evo, and still my solo is used every single day...I prefer the stems that come with it, although I do use PVHS also. Can't go wrong with a Solo, my wife even referenced it in her wedding vows to me. Great first Vape. Also recently got the LSV , great vape, impressed and worth the price, bought it at Vapornation using a coupon and paid $161, they are having a may sale 15% off with code CDM14, used it on a hydratube purchase yesterday. :)

Dayuuuum that's a cool wife.

And a hell of a testament. Go SOLO.

Looks like the Solo is gonna be the winner. My only gripe with it is that it isnt the most discrete. Are there any other devices i'm missing? Also, do they make shorter "straws" for the solo?

It is actually pretty discreet for what the machine is capable of! I travel with it often (locally). There are shorter stems but you probably wouldn't want to use them to pull from directly from the chamber to your mouth, as your throat will most likely get irritated. There are more discreet stems that are made aftermarket like from Ed'sTNT @Ed's TnT beautiful wood work :)

Keep browsing the portable vape forum and seeing the other options as well! Each person has a different taste!

I like my Davinci a lot more then my solo for out-and-about use. The size(it slips into the back pocket of my Levis) and fact that it's all one unit(vape, mouthpiece and herb storage)is a big plus. Also the size of the chamber makes up for the shorter battery life for me since I can pack 4 times the Bud into the Davinci as compared to the solo and do quicker headier sessions.
I have never had any off gassing or robot fart taste with the DV. Love what it does for me.

For sitting around the house and yard or to carry over to a friends house to sit around and vape a while the Solo Wins hands down. Taste better then the DV with smoother hits and less coughing (convection vs conduction ? ) and more options to play with since its easier to DIY different vapor paths ( ed's stems , PV stems + gongs, water tools and more) lots of options, lots of fun.

I use my solo all the time outside of college, i sit on/in my trunk and just sip away. no one gives me any shit for it, but if you want to keep it discreet, you can always put it into a fast food cup, and no-one will notice at all. i think im gonna try this in a classroom just for shits and giggles one day:p

Is vaping in class really worth the risk? Why not just get medicated before you go in?
Unless you are a chronic patient, you should be able to medicate and have the effects last you through a class.

Best case scenario- you get away with it but achieve nothing.

Worst case scenario- you could face some serious repercussions from the University... I am not sure what their stance is regarding use on campus or in a classroom, but I imagine it is not favorable.

So you might get away with it, but what if you do not?

Its defiantly not worth the risk, but it sounds like the ultimate stealth challenge. I go to a community college which isn't as strict as a university, still no smoking on campus, but hey more risk more reward:p haha just kidding, i probably will never do it, but its tempting as hell. :p once my friends were combusting on campus (full on stoner circle) , and the school piggy walks up to them, asked them is they had their cards all said yes, almost everyone did, however some didn't, he didn't even check, just told them to not do it on campus, no real repercussions.
enough of a derail for this thread tho..
oh yea, one time i walked around campus vaping white sage in the solo, out in the open, buddy thought it was the herb, he took a huge rip, and his face was priceless!
