Hey guys, medical patient and semi long time lurker. Im a heavy vape user and accumulate ABV fast. My metabolism is unreal and in the past most edibles dont work very well for me. I have anxiety which is why I gave up combustion for the time being and gone full on VAPE. Is it worth getting one of these machines for my ABV and stems? Can someone lemme know what to do with my ABV? Dont want to make edibles that will create an overwhelming headrush.

And im 99% positive a headshop i Know does a half off sale on 4/20 and carries these.

Does anyone know what the Facebook discount code is? I'm interested in ordering but not without some sort of code.
The international version is now up in the store to order and will be shipped next month.

OK peeps, I finally made tincture it was a big ole fail. Why you might ask well let me explain. First off the company likes to change there directions and from when I started watching they have changed the tincture recipe three times adding more herb each time. That is a huge mistake. I don't feel they are specific in there recipes but in either respect here is what happened.

I took 26grams of herb, 2 cups of EC, 4tablespoons of soy lecitin. I believed I followed the recipe. I put the machine outside and set it for 160 for four hours. When I retrieved the machine I had a brick on the bottom of the machine. It was burnt. I called the company and told them the exact amount I used and they were in shock that this happened. They said they would call me back and never did which is really disappointing.

Now for the logic part of the show. I added more EC and let it soak in to see if it could be salvaged. I got it out strained and put in a jar. Does it work yes, is it what I expected no but I expect I burned most of the actives off. I felt dumb for listening to the recipe as it needed about one to two more cups of EC.

I will be repeating this on Monday same amounts cept 4 cups EC and I will evap. I have not decided or I can't figure out how much to evap but I will by then. I don't think I will ever follow what they say again as I should have realized there wasn't enough liquid.

Here is a copy of the recipe and if I read it wrong let me know.

Just realize this is revision number 2 that I know of if you look at number three it has IIRC 14-20grams per cup wtf???????????????????

I have not tried making glycerine yet, but I have made a couple of batches of butter and it worked great.

The first batch I made I experimented with using my AVB, which I had never cooked with before. Since many people said to double, triple or quadruple the amount of material when using ABV, and since I had about 50g of well vaped material on hand, the first batch was using 50g of AVB and one pound of butter. After straining, I ended up with about a cup and a half of very dark green butter. I should have used gloves when straining it through the cheesecloth, I ended up so medicated I had to take a nap by the time I was done.

I made the butter into some brownies. I recommended only trying a half, but everyone ate a full one because they tasted so good. And then everyone got couch lock, and then went to bed about an hour or two later. Not much of a party. But I figured that they would be perfect for my severely insomniac friend, which was who I had in mind when I baked them.

I made a second batch of magic butter using the minimum amount recommended in the machine, I used 16g of pink Kush flowers for a pound of butter. This time I strained using cheesecloth and a potato ricer, which was much better and easier, but still only yielded about a cup and a half when it was done. This time the butter was a beautiful light lime green colour. For proper comparison I used the exact same brownie recipe, and this time the effects were far more euphoric and people were able to stay awake and have fun.

The only problem had nothing to do with the Magic Butter maker and all to do with dumb luck. The friend I gave the sleepytime AVB brownies to found them far too potent, they gave him such a bad trip he was going to get rid of them (he does not normally use any cannabis products, so that may have been a factor). But before he could get rid of them, his dogs broke into the kitchen when no one was home, and out of all of the food that they could have gone for, they knocked the tin of brownies to the floor and devoured them completely. He came home and wondered why the dogs were acting so funny. When he realized what had happened, he called in a mobile vet, who of course told him to take them to the after hours emergency clinic, and charged him $400 for the visit. It took us a really long time trying to get a 90lb shepherd into a truck she couldn't jump into when straight due to her arthritis. The small dog just slept the whole time. At the emergency clinic, they pumped their stomachs, and for some reason, brought out the contents to show us. You could tell the little dog had eaten at least a whole brownie, and that would have left about 8 or 9 for the big dog to have eaten. What the dogs threw up still reeked of pot and chocolate, and honestly, it looked just like the brownie batter before I put it in the oven, if I hadn't known a dog had just vomited it up....

We are still pretty sure that the dogs would not have overdosed on the cannabis, since as far as I know, there are still no known cases of anyone dying from an overdose, but they were in danger of dying from the chocolate, I had used real cocoa and dark Belgian chocolate. Apparently the signs of chocolate overdose and being high are just about the same in dogs; euphoria, dizziness, lack of coordination and sleepiness. My friend was up all night worrying that his dogs might not make it, it was touchy because they had eaten so much, and likely had absorbed a significant amount in the hours before he had even gotten home. Luckily both survived! And it only cost him $1400 for a tin of free brownies. I think that the idea of saving money by reusing AVB is less appealing to me now.

:( Glad the dogs are okay and I had a friend who had this happen to him as well. It is a matter of keeping it out of reach of kids/dogs. I wouldn't stop using ABV or making edibles but I'd sure be looking to keep things sealed and in a cabinet/fridge or somewhere completely inaccessible.

WOW sorry about the mishap, so GLAD to hear dogs made it, quick move saved them, thank the stars ! and dont shy away from what sounds like a whole lot of fun and joy for your human friends, just do as others and myself would suggest, lock em up and put them some place secure so that animals or kids cant get to them. :peace:

EDIT: Will be ordering one, my good friends have conjured up funds for one and I get to try it out and hold on to it (basically belated b/day gift Im told) so I have been reading and props to Tweak and other pioneers (Dreamer comes to mind) and some others but all many thanks to you all for sharing, thank you.

I have a good amount of ABV (6 OZ WORTH) and some very nice shake and frosty trimmings that I would love to turn to tinctures,or extractions (excuse my poor nomenclature at this time,) butta, earl, that sort of stuff. I may pick a brain from time to time, but I know the old school methods are proven and a bit more time consuming but I figure that most here seem to think its(MB2) a step up and kinda like the evolution of vapes, yeah you can make a DIY vape but what is available today in that field is quite a step up, maybe the MB2 is similar in that fashion that it is a bit better and time saving. It also seems that others have said it does the job better,I hope so. So cant wait to be a part of the experience and hope to share my learning curve as well. Thanks to all and keep the info pipeline flowing:cheers:

over the last couple of weeks, I read this whole thread and decided to buy it.
some very good info, thanks all. :)

my machine will be here on Friday and I'll be making oil (for canna caps) as soon as i unwrap it. I grow legally and just harvested last month, so I'm fortunate to have enough buds to play around with.

I've been eating pot since the 70s but it's never been a big thing in my love of the devil weed. lately I've just been making fire crackers or pop and fresh sugar cookies, using butter, vegetable oil and peanut butter for fat content. i only eat it a few times a year but I'm hoping to add oil or tincture to my daily routine.

since deciding to buy the machine, I've learned about coconut oil and soy lecithin. apparently I've been doing it wrong. lol

a few months ago, I started vaping full time (extreme Q, I'm in love with the bag), and am vaping 1.5 to 2 grams a day (down from smoking 2.5 to 3 grams a day). I'm retired so I can wake and vape and stay comfortably buzzed all day.

I get right where I like to be by eating 1/2 gram of bud in a firecracker. I'm debating about using 2 oz of bud in 2 cups of coconut oil (65% fat content and 93% (something or other that I forget at the moment) or using 1 oz for 2 cups of oil.

I'm thinking if I make it too strong, I can dilute it, but I also think that if I make it too weak, I can just add more pot and run the infused oil (plus any extra oil to get to the fill line) and some more pot through the one hour oil cycle again. which of these ways would you folks do it?
possibly make it too strong and weaken it or make it too weak and strengthen it?
I'm putting it into caps once I get the mixture right. i want it not too strong, not too weak, just right. :)

I guess I could just fill the caps according to how strong it is but I'd rather be more precise in the dosage.

after I figure out the buds and oil thing, i'll experiment with some of the ABV and oil.

I ate too much one time. we were in Thailand in the 70s, made ISO hash that came out sticky and shiny charcoal black and threw that and a bunch of thai stick pot into cookie batter. I didn't eat pot again until the 90s.
we threw away the remaining cookies, the guard dog ate them, it was basically in a coma for 2 days, then it never quite walked right again. I still feel real bad about that.

I've been to fuck combustion 3 times. first time I bought a da Buddha, the second I bought an extreme Q and this time I bought the magical butter mac hine.

Hi and welcome to FC... you should visit more often - if your wallet will allow lolol.

I don't make coconut capsules but we had a great thread here discussing them that linked to another board with directions. I was always tempted to try them but got stuck in a rut of making hard candies instead.

Check this thread out and let us know how your experiments go: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/how-to-make-super-cool-coconut-oil-capsules.1465/

Hmmm no more posters???? I have one now and will begin to try to duplicate some batches of butter and coconut oil runs as well. I wanted to ask if anyone is using the newer filter that came w/mine? it seems as though you could wring it out the sludge in the same fashion as a cheese cloth but I have no experience with MB2 as of the moment.I also received the green silicone glove, I guess that may come in handy.I was looking for any tips on filtering, read the entire thread, thanks to all for sharing, just wish more would post their experiences and finds, tips anything to help a newbie cook get to the status of MB executive chef!!:spliff:........:peace:

Sorry, no help from me with the auto butter maker. I'm old school so I haven't considered getting one. I'm happy with manual methods I've used for decades. Good luck and hopefully some more users of this appliance will come along.

@ou812?, perhaps you are the first to get the green glove and new filter? I did not get a glove, and would like to see a pic of your filter because cheesecloth is more effective than the filter that came with mine.

Mine is a gift to me in hopes that I'll make enough for my friends:) which is fun, but another good brother from the site has expressed old school is cool and very effective, he stated it is and the ONLY method for most. New age might be nice but I do understand tried and proven. With out a doubt this appliance might be cool and might and I say might, cut out a bit of prep and clean up, but being a newb on all of cooking w/ herb I wouldnt know..Funny thing is I have 3 crock pots one small enough to make personal use and 2 others big and bigger for a troops worth of goodness. Well I guess I'll be trying to be a mad scientist in the next few days and hopefully come out with something worth passing around to friends. :peace::leaf:

It reminds me of a small bubble bag, Im not great with a lot of nomenclature or really computer literate, no hard plastic, completely soft,no frame just mesh on the side but doesnt appear to allow liquid thru on the sides but very fine nylon filter (a lot like the bags used for making bubble hash but real small,) theres a pic on the site of it but not good, I'll see if one of my smarter friends can help me out with posting a pic,but I have to apologize brother, I am not a computer person and I have learning curve issues just learning how to post on forums. Basically severely computer challenged:shrug:

Doing an ABV / coconut oil today (1st run w/MB2) , seems I'll try a basic 32 gms of ABV & 16oz of coconut oil and Im going with 2 hr mark.Hopefully I will have some decent product to make the easiest of all...... BROWNIES!! Wish I could find a less expensive connection for coconut oil, I have Costco version 58 oz container for 15.99,I dont buy coconut oil and do not know the prices, but Im told it is the better of the oils to extract thru. I have lecithin as well and hoping for success, OK all I will post my findings, just wish more would post on their methods, observations, anything pertaining to it ,:leaf:.....:peace:

EDIT... My luck , set it up with 32 grams of ABV- 16 oz of coconut oil 2 hr 190 degrees........come back only to find power outage, restarted it ...seems we were with out power for 25 mins. Maybe the extra cook time will produce a stronger oil:freak:

hey all, i don't post much but thought I'd let you know this.
I was just about to order one of these but the postage to Australia is over $70. in any bodies language that is pretty much a rip off the antipodean cost. a disgraceful lack of fair play.
care to comment on your outrageous postal costs magical butter rep?

Postage price doesn't seem too bad to me, must be quite a big and heavy item. I was factoring in that sort of price to ship to the uk. :\

hey and greets, compared to similar stuff I have had shipped from the u.s. it's roughly dbl. indeed an u.s. eBay dealer, shipped to Australia to $35.
however, thems the breaks of living in a wonderful country like Australia. guess I'll have to suck it up cos I pretty much wanna deal with the magic mob who make it.
dealing with second and third party overseas vendors, sucks the big one!

heya everyone.

anyone receive the international version yet? looking to get one in the UK but postage price then duties/extra handling fees would make it an expensive venture. looks like very useful kit though, there's a MB3 imminent but i'm not sure it'd be worth waiting.

hopefully some type of european distribution is in the pipeline, seems like something the vape selling sites could do well with.

A stern warning regarding this companys way of NOT taking care of their customers.FIVE month i've been trying to get a refund for a machine (BM2) that i bought.
Just as i paied for it using PP i realised that the mashine was 110V and NOT 220V.Yes,it was my fault,BUT the answered back and promise me a full refund after i sent it back.I did that, and now they just keep asking about trackingnumber, which i don't have..so i gave them the barcodenumber.
Now five month later i know that someone have signed for my parcel BUT the company refuses to refund me any money at all..I'm up their ass,and i will NOT settle until i know how signed for it and i get my promised refund.

IF ANYONE HERE WORK AT A POSTOFFICE AND COULD DO ME A FAVOR AND CHECK THE BARCODENUMBER ON THE PARCEL FOR ME,PLEASE PM ME ASAP.

TIA//AMiA

mod note: I see that you posted the response from the Magical Butter company, saying that they issued you a refund even though they never received your unit. Seems like excellent customer service after all, since it's rare to get a refund when you can't prove you returned the product in question.

That same barcode number is on every mbm, so sorry but that won't work.

Ooops, didn't know that..thanks for the info.Any other suggestions..not even the Big boss himself what's to even answer my e-mails any longer, and i think i've been moore that polite..5 freaking months..is't a quite big parcel, not like an envelope that maybe can be "missplaced"..My Postoffice has now sent them a request to answer,if not me,maybe they will answer my Postoffice, time will tell.
