Could someone help me out is the higher temp the only thing the pro can do that this cant

Also can the black MP from the PNP be used on PN

I'm thinking of getting a stealth portable ATM I'm thinking of this or MFLB or maybe save a bit and get the PNP

I will only use it for herbs and 390 will be hot enougth for me on the go

I will only use this for them ultra stealth vaping times
More temp settings
Battery indicator
Use while charging.
PONGs are interchangeable

Glass PONGs are now available from TRVB. check out the PRO thread

Thanks looks like I'm going to be getting me a PN when I can afford it

I have looked at the glass adaptors for the PNP will want one of them also think ed is going to look at making wood ones as well wich I will want if/when I get one

I won't need the higher temp or charge and use
A battery indicator would be nice but I can live with out it and at £90 seams a steal

I thought VaporBlunt had good customer savings back in Sept, Oct & Nov, then it started to fall. Some folks say it's gotten better now. I gave up a while back.

I will be curious what Ed could come up with for the Pnp gong. He does amazing work, he may have something figured out in that genius brain of his.

In Denver for 420 my Pn is at home in a drawer due to no battery replacement support.

It still runs for 2 cycles before dying so I still wont try to replace it on my own yet.

Smh its a shame I did like the thing.

Both of my pinnacles need to have the battery run completely down before I recharge if I want more then one session( 1 cycle on low - 1 cycle on high per bullet). I have to make sure the pn has gone through the warning lights flashing and that the battery dies before charging if I want to do 2 bullets next time out.

So I think the time has come for me to come clean on some experiments I've been running on my otherwise neglected Pinnacle. It's given it a new lease on usefulness to me. My hope is some will try the idea and add their contributions?

Based on my 'spiking the load' in Iolite I started out trying a layer of bubble hash in the load. On the general formula of the bottom half being dry fine ground bud followed by a layer of bubble (perhaps 1/4 inch?) with a fairly thin cover of more bud. This keeps things very easy to clean out (no fouling down low in the cart), provides a more potent load and one that seems to go and go and go.

3 different strains of bubble gave differing results, some of it seems to lump up and not work well, others not so. More work is needed. Then came the even more fun part. I carefully mixed some salvaged CO2 oil in with fresh ground bud, probably about half a gram of oil and a bit over a gram of bud? I'll have to measure next time. To the point the herb absorbed it enough so it wasn't all sticky and could be loaded. I substituted this for the bubble (which I'd run out of). Instant success! You have to be even more careful with the oil, I almost had an accident as some almost made it to the screen part of the cart, a sure mess. But the results were a whole other thing I think.

Oh, yeah, I'm continuing to put a fine mesh 1/2 screen on top (under the one on the MP), changing it often keeps things wide open up top, I'm thinking of punching the factory screen out of the MP and using only loose screens.

Anyway, if you have a Pinnacle and are lucky enough to have access to concentrates give it a try. It still has a very limited number of sessions available from that little battery, but boy oh boy does this make those sessions count big time.

Charge it up, load up a cart and good times are in the bag. On demand and otherwise pretty conveniently and discretely (for those who like such things).

@OF,

I didn't have much luck with concentrates in the PN OG, except for only bubble and Moroccan hash w/bud medleys.

With the PNP however, I've been able to mix kief, bubble hash, Moroccan, Qwiso, shattery shattered shatter with my bud and oh man does this ever last long.

The only thing I find an issue, is the concentrates very much outlast the bud, therefore the taste starts to get compromised.

The flavor enhancements of any concentrates is my favorite part, therefore I keep the ratio down to about 1:5 between the concentrate vs bud.

I got my hands on some de-gummed hemp fibre too recently, thanks to @stickstones advice, and I used an ever so thin layer and made basically qwiso, bubble hash, kief mini roll. See below pic for reference.

I will post actual pics of the hemp fiber rolls shortly.

I just slid this roll into the bullet.

Packed it excessively tight too... but still pulled like a monster.

It lasted me for over 5 x 8min sessions.....

The PNP being able to operate while plugged in an higher temps are some things that I really appreciate about the PNP.

Double post in full effect.

Damn, I must have killed this thread with my last post... no posts for a month?

So lets try to bring some life back into this thread..

To PN OG owners, I hope you guys are aware of the new glass insert Pgong.

Available from both VaporBlunt's site and theyoyokid1....

Just received the new glass insert Pong, and looking forward to trying it out after work today. Ordered a second OG Pinnacle for backup -- the two temps it offers work well for me, and I've no need to upgrade to the PRO.

Noticed some decline in the battery life on my first model, but I can still get 4 sessions out of it. Now that I've got two of them, I'll be good to go!

Best investment I've ever made. Viva la vape!

Interesting concept, that, all the learning is on the owner end. The change of opinion that so often comes from 'I can't get this POS to make vapor' to 'this is great' is entirely on the human side, the vape itself doesn't seem to change much.......

OF

Hi maybe I missed this in the last couple pages but do you happen to have any tips to help a person get to the "this is great" part with the pinnacle?
thanks

Hi I can't figure this little guy out.

Can anyone describe their routine with this to get it to work?

Man, so I have two Pinnacle originals and they were not used for about a year but I tried to recharge them and give it a go. One works okay, the maximum temps I get though are 360f, not so awesome. The other one was... interesting. It initially was maxing out at 320f so I left it charging overnight after a full discharge - blinking blue won't power on.

Now the thing is a blazing ball of dangerous fire.

I have powered it down due to it heating up all batshit crazy and reaching temps of 440f on the low (white) setting! I am afraid to let it reach the solid light state, I thought it would cut off eventually. It is of course unusable and vary much out of warranty. Any thoughts?

After a period of non use I revisited my Pinnacle to find it had turned into land fill waste. I had high hopes for this company, great ideas but executed with Chinese engineers and substandard materials . . .

I am keeping with it. I actually wrote them yesterday and received a very quick response. They assured me no, I cannot reset it myself but they did offer to send me a new battery when I made an order - which I was planning anyways for a couple Palm batteries and a glass mouthpiece.

I screwed around with the diagnostic settings on one Pinnacle though.

It was performing poorly and by accessing the green light mode I monitored the temperature while clicking the button until it increased and held the button to power it off. There is also a yellow mode but I am not sure if these two modes calibrate the temps for both high and low mode or not. It is sort of driving me crazy.

I modified the circuit from the original battery and made it so while the device is open I can swap out batteries to test and it is kind of great. I just used an 18650 silicone sleeve with the contacts just right and it holds up for testing at least.

So.

After messing with it some more... I cannot figure out how to reset the temperatures. I suspect the circuit on the battery is malfunctioning at this point because I don't see how the board alone can remember any settings that would carry over upon a complete power disconnect, when replacing the battery.

There is a bunch of unused contacts on the board that may be are used when it is being calibrated? I don't know. I'll try anything at this point.

In summary:

I want to manually adjust the temperatures - I kind of did but now it's fooked and is too high. Literally heats up to 400f plus in like under a minute now. I WISH it could have been this fast heating up before - just maybe to the desired temps.

Here's what it looks like with the "swap a battery" silicone she'll.

Update on project re-pinnacle-izer-atron-3000:

New battery works swell in the working Pinnacle, definitely more life out of the bugger, heats up as fast as before, around 1 to 1.5 minutes. Yay renewed life! I can now low mode for a bit then switch it off to just get a couple sips in, save the rest for later rather than packing a smaller amount for a smaller session and it ending up being weak or ripping too hot too quickly.

New battery in overheating unit still overheats, so the circuit board on the salvaged franken-battery was seemingly fine - it is still just something set wonky or damaged on the board itself. I tried draining it completely while not allowing it to get too hot and well, it achieved nothing. I may still mess with it a bit trying to find an elusive way to calibrate it while I wait to hear from vaporblunt. Maybe they will again come through and it will be some magic combination of attaching the battery, plugging in the charger, turning it on then holding the button while unplugging it again and whispering the gummy bears song to the battey and poking it gently with an authentic pre 2000 Hostess Twinkie snack cake. Or I could bake a really small loaf of bread in the pinnacle if all else fails?

Heard back from VaporBlunt about my overheating Pinnacle. They confirmed that it sounds like I have changed the temperature settings and unfortunately I would need to send it in for repair at this point.

They were pretty nice considering I was not hiding the fact that I tinkered with it and maybe felt bad that a replacement battery was not a complete fix for me. They said that it would only possibly incur costs to replace/repair if outside of the warranty, which of course it is. So I am asking for a ballpark figure. May end up sending it in if indeed I cannot reset it on my own. *Seriously it would have been a fine travel unit that just operated at not ideal or advertised temps if I had just left it alone and replaced the battery. On that side note replacing the battery alone on either device did NOT affect the temps. So then the logic goes that the circuit on the actual top of the battery is for protection / voltage modulation but has no bearing on the actual output temperature of the heating element, other than it receiving power or not...

So one pinnacle is stuck at instant ramp to infinity temp, the other has a reproducible process of lowering and raising the temp but it is ill advised to do so as you may end up with a fireball pinnacle like me where no matter how many times I try to lower the temp it just keeps heating until I turn it off due to safety.

Interesting developments:

5 pin 'empty' connector area on the board can be shorted to produce these events:

Battery /circuit reset (off then light cycle to eventual off or charge state)

Battery too hot reset (red fast blinky then off - reset) although I never have encountered this in actual use so I am guessing...

Battery charged or charging state (blue solid or blinking light - this one is weird because it does this without the adapter plug in, as long as the battery remains connected and the circuit is shorted it behaves like it is at full charge or is charging) I tried completely draining and charging the battery with this function since letting it get hot and cool down was way too time consuming with the extra attention needed to make sure it would not get too hot. Needless to say the results were nil, temp settings stayed loco but the battery was successfully charged.

I was hoping shorting these contacts would prove useful towards finding a "reset" but factoring in the different modes, being plugged in or not, turning off or holding the button while doing any combination of things... has left me stumped. It's all in a bag waiting further testing. With countless batteries to try and two official batteries.

How do I invoke @Engineer? Or does any one else think they could help with more data from me, voltage readouts, images of the board, etc? It's quite an interesting and fun project.
