Before I write anything I want to make it clear I've done a ton of research and been all over the internet looking at various vapes and I know what I want. I just would really like some more input from other users. I really wish there was more of a try before you buy way to purchase vapes since they are so individual.

So I own a MFLB and have for a long time now. I absolutely love it. Love the flavor and the vapor I get. It's easy to use, doesn't smell, and uses very little material but gets the job done nice and quick (I also use the power adapter, which I also highly recommend), but I wanted to expand my horizons so I did some research and it seemed like everyone on earth was recommending the Pax. I've had that now for a week and am not impressed. First it smells a lot more than the MFLB, secondly even using the screen trick it uses what seems like a lot of material and it burns through it very quickly even at low. The sessions seem to have to be quick and I don't seem to get as high. I'm sure there's some trick to drawing off it or just using it in general that I'm missing but I've tried every tip I could find.

So basically a quick summary of what I'm looking for:
-can be portable or not, don't plan to take it anywhere
-uses a small amount of material
-no to minimum smell
-can have long, casual sessions
-good taste & smoothness (Pax always tastes a little burnt and plastic-y as well as find myself coughing a lot, and yes it's a real Pax)
- using herbal material, not concentrates or oil etc

I'm looking at the Plenty and the Firefly as candidates right now but am open to other suggestions. I know the Plenty has a large container but it seems like using the concentrate pad you wouldn't have to use much material.

I would second the log suggestion. I currently have a MF and a Solo and my next vape will almost certainly be a log. They are great for conservation from what I hear, they stick with the wooden theme, have great taste and can be left on all day. like @KidFated said you cant really go wrong with a Log. Some brands to check out are E-nano, Underdog, and HI.

My favorite vaporizer is the Solo. It has excellent flavor and it's easy on the herb, a little last a long time. it can be used plugged in or not.

The Solo has been around a long time and in my opinion is the work horse of all the portables that I've used. Charge time for the battery is quick and my newer model Solo's battery lasted 2 + hours on a full charge when I first bought it? The battery still last 2 hours on a full charge. Also if the battery needs to be changed after 2 or 3 its easily done.

The Solo can be your desk top vape as well as a portable, try getting an Ed's wooden stem to make it even more portable. The Solo is tried and true. Arizer has updated this unit the last few months where it can be used while charging and an easier draw.

If you buy one through Puffitup if there's any problems exchanges aren't a hassle. You have to think about after care in case you get a faulty unit, hopefully that won't happen. Sometimes buying a vaporizer that's new to the market place there is a risk.

That's my 2 cents worth, it's good to research a vape. Good luck and I wish you well. It's always good to have a backup vaporizer so you don't go back to combustion.

Thanks, it seems like the log types have to be kept on most of the time and I'd rather not have something plugged in all the time. And I've heard the Solo is hard to draw on but I'll definitely look more into these. Any other suggestions?

Firefly, Firefly, Firefly.

If you got the coinage, it can be one sexy beast. All electric, sleek, and wicked fast. I really don't think there's a current portable that can match its luxury. With the add-ons, yeah, it's fucking pricey. I sure as shit can't afford it. But I bought it anyway...

I've been using it as my desktop while I wait for my HI, as my home portable (obviously), and my on-the-go portable since I usually prefer it to the Ascent for most situations, but not all. The Ascent can be really nice too, but I appreciate it more for its specificity, as it were.

So I've become quite close with my FF because of using it in so many places. I hold it now as though it were part of my hand. And after more than three months with it, I can honestly and truly say I think it is an awesome vape, and if you've done your research and think it's for you, then go for it, dude!

And if you're already dropping $270, just go all out and get the external charger and at least one extra battery. I even have an extra power adapter and third battery, but only so I can have a charging set in my car ready at all times without having to remember it! :ko:

Yeah, your dropping decent change at that point, but remember, the Firefly is a two-fer! Plus, you can obviously replace its battery, as well as its cover and battery lid, if you want to keep it looking close-to-new.

Oh yeah. Awesome customer service too.

How long are the FF sessions, what you make it?

Well, it depends, I suppose. Sometimes, if I need to, I duck somewhere quick, whip out my 'Fly ( :brow: ), and I'm back to the group in literally 20 seconds.

If I want to sit back and toke 2-3, I'm in for about 60-90 seconds, depending on my need for speed. If no need, then I'd say about 3 minutes, roughly 1 hit per minute.

Any more tokes than that, and I prefer my Ascent. But really, you can cruise along nice and slow, or you can be done right quick, hit and quit, and no one would be the wiser. Unless they're looking at you. :ko:

But I feel the FF truly shines when it's joined by a log vape.

Do you use/have you used a MFLB? My biggest concern about a FF is that it might just be a more sophisticated version of the same thing.

I would say that a flssh vape I think would work very well for you
Its sort of like a bigger more powerful mflb
It works the same with as a mflb but uses a 18650 battery
The taste is very good very clean
You can get a power adapter for it
I use mine as a around the hose vape
Its to big to be a portable
The bowl is huge but you can use a liltel as you want or you can half fill the bowl

I do think you over looked log vapes this I have a e nano and I heats up in a few minutes

That main thing that I took note of is that he wanted long casual sessions, I don't find the FF to shine in that department, it seems to work best by quickly finishing the load and it sounds like a waste of its battery life.

I also recommend that you consider the FlashVAPE, especially with the PA. As an experience LB user you'll have no trouble mastering it. You can use it as a conduction device like the LB or as a convection unit by using the S2 kit.

The Solo is a good device but it is session-oriented, meaning that you turn it on, heat it up, and then you've got 12 minutes of constant heating. This is not really suited to the kind of usage you described. I haven't used a log vapourizer or the FF. From reading, the FF is similar to the LB in some ways but not in others. It is convection as opposed to conduction, for example.

I don't find it to be that way at all. The question has been raised before, though. The FF, in my opinion, has better flavor and better build quality, while also using convection. And yes, I owned an MFLB for a quite a while.

That main thing that I took note of is that he wanted long casual sessions, I don't find the FF to shine in that department, it seems to work best by quickly finishing the load and it sounds like a waste of its battery life.

I think if you want a long, casual session, you can have one. In fact, since you're only heating the herb when you want to, I don't see what you mean when you say you're wasting battery life. It's not like you're having to leave the thing on the whole time.

The battery life isn't very long wouldn't spending 20 minutes taking 15+ light hits really drain it, how many times could he have long casual sessions. But you're right, quickly on and quickly off.

Okay, now I see what you're saying. But I think lots of us Firefly owners just plug the FF back in after a session. I, on the other hand, just keep switching out batts in my external charger so one is always ready to go. :)

But that again is more $ to drop on this thing.

I have had a ton of vapes. I love my Underdog. Loved my Buddha. Heck I even have a place for my firewood 2.0. And while I think they are all very good. I find myself always going back to the Solo. Its portable, so where you may not leave the house it will allow you to move from room to room. It has great taste. It is very efficient. And it is a work horse. I've had mine for 2 years now with lots of heavy use and it still works as good as the day I bought it. IMHO you can't go wrong with the Solo!

I know that my suggestion here may fly in the face of your listed priorities, but I've been using my MFLB in rotation with my LSV. For me, the combo works great. 2 hits from my LSV with a followup hit from the MFLB 30 min later sets me up just fine.

They each provide a little bit of a different high, but the combination of both work really well together. Kinda like mixing strains in a salad.

I went with your suggestions and just ordered an E-nano. Seemed to fit the general bill: doesn't take too long to heat up, supposedly is very conservative with herb, recommended for casual sessions. Hope it arrives soon!

You did well. Think you'll really enjoy the nano. Paired up with a water piece it is pretty tough to beat - especially for the price.

Are you on the HI list? Like you, I was on the fence, got on the list and kind of forgot about it. By the time I got the happy email from Alan, I was ready, and I have been impressed in every way. There is no downside to getting on the list.

Wow, so I'm reporting in to say I finally received my e-nano and I have to thank everyone who recommended it. It fit everything I was looking for perfectly. Here's what I originally posted that I was looking for and how the e-nano stacks up:

-can be portable or not, don't plan to take it anywhere e-nano must be plugged in but is small enough to bring to a friends place really easily if I wanted to
-uses a small amount of material I haven't done any sort of measuring but it seems to work incredibly well on what seems to be the amount I'd put in a normal MFLB trench.
-no to minimum smell no more or less then the LB, so check.
-can have long, casual sessions can just plug it in for 2 minutes and then leave it plugged in and just take hits as I want them, either quickly or slowly. Perfect.
-good taste & smoothness (Pax always tastes a little burnt and plastic-y as well as find myself coughing a lot, and yes it's a real Pax) the taste is incredible. And with the temp dial you can adjust to get it just how you want it.
- using herbal material, not concentrates or oil etc I still just use flowers but apparently the e-nano on its highest settings can do all sorts of stuff.
