Volute of Vapor
When I picked up my pax I got a sativa strain not really dense (nice effects but not lot of vapor) and I have difficulties to got clouds except with higgher setting... but I opened yesterday another box of one of my dense indica strain(white diesel I think) and packed the pax oven (with higgher setting!) and it starts to produce thick clouds after thicks clouds, I was coughing like hell and I was completly dismantled, the brain on the floor and the floor in the brain!

Happy to get it in my arsenal, a question, I need to press the mp with one of my finger to keep my pax on,because lot of time when I move the color change like if the mp is taken off (but it's on), any idea how to fix my issue?

Glad you're enjoying your PAX! About your problem, though, its time to show your PAX some love. When you get the "temp light" issue, its time to give the PAX a good cleaning. Don't forget the mouthpiece!

Could this be the first official fake PAX called The vaporizer-x , its even sold by Newdark!! So I guess Ploom's patent does not extend to Europe????

mod note: Our policy is not to link to counterfeits. Link removed.

Thats a bummer
i believe the fake pax has different colors.
ploom pax are:
low-yellow
med-orange
high-red
charging up to temperature-purple
ready-green
standby-blue.
charging on dock-orange
charging on dock complete-green
if all those colors are the same it should be real.
also fake ones look like brushed aluminum, real ones look more powder coated. I've seen fake ones that actually say pax by Ploom.
real ones weigh around 100 grams, fake ones weigh 88-89 grams.
if its a newer version it should have simon on it too.
hold it like a doobie and rotate it 5 times to party mode then 8 times for simon, it'll flash white twice and go into Simon mode.
(fake ones do have party mode too)

Good list, but this is incorrect. An official Pax by Ploom will glow orange while charging.
No, I have 3. They are all from ploom directly and they all flash purple when charging, green when done.
Anyone else want to chime in on what color your real ploom pax flashes when charging?

2 Paces, where did you get your pax? you may have one of the more realistic looking knockoffs.

Not saying im right your wrong, just a bit curious. Ive used several others and they flash purple when charging as well. only time mines orange, is when its on medium and the mouthpiece needs cleaned.

Why would they use orange as a temperature setting and as a charging light?

You know I'm talking about charging up to temperature, not charging on the dock right?

Its the newest green model (simon and all). I hate to break it to you, but the light in the video you posted is orange when charging.

Edit: DOH! No, I didn't realize you meant the color when heating up, I thought you meant when charging. Mine is purple when heating up as well. My bad.

he says "light flashes purple" and its a purple light! I'm not talking about charging it on the dock, I'm talking about flashing purple as its charging up to temp!

Edit: I thought we were confusing that! Allgood

Woah, dude, chill. I misunderstood what you meant because of your word choice, but once I realized the misunderstanding, I edited my post. No disrespect, man, just a miscommunication. Your honor is intact, good sir.

Floating on.
Quick question on an issue I'm having, sorry if it's already been covered:

I'm finding that occasionally during my cleaning when I run a pipe cleaner dampened with ISO through the vapor tube, the Pax will start to display the purple light and begin to heat up. The only way to get it to stop heating is by putting the mouthpiece back on then taking it off again. My suspicion is that little bits of ISO may be getting on the temp button while I swab it. So now, just to be safe, I remove the mouthpiece and let the unit power off, which seems to take about 6-8 minutes with the mouthpiece removed.

Anyone else encounter this issue? Is this indeed what's supposed to happen if ISO gets on the temp button?

No worries, man. I'm glad we got that cleared up. There's enough confusion about fake PAXes out there, haha.
Ain't that the truth!!!
Imitation is the best form of flattery though right!

euph0ric1, to turn the unit off for cleaning, simply remove the mouthpiece and place it on the charger for 5 seconds and it will turn the pax off. (when you do charge it, I recommend putting it mouthpiece up in a shallow drawer, and place the charger on top. This will keep your pax much cleaner).
I took a pax apart and no harm will come to your pax using a slightly moistened pipe cleaner through it.
I use a bristled pipe cleaner with ISO after a session when its warm but cooling down to clean mine (I only use low & med).
The tube is solid from the mouthpiece to the oven, so ISO wont get into the temp button unless your pipe cleaner is dripping into it.(if temp button is sticking, try cycling through temps while blowing some compressed air from a can around the temp button)
make sure your pipe cleaner is damp, not dripping wet.
Don't ever force the temp button if it feels like its sticking.
Maybe try cleaning around the edge of the button with a small blade very carefully.
Also looking at the light (X), always push down on the right side to turn on and off. You want to push directly above the metal stem on the mouthpiece to prolong the life of it. My friends left handed so he always pushes down on the left. One 10 degree day he pushed on the left to turn it on and cracked the plastic mouthpiece.
Hope this helped.

I bought 2 Pax directly from Ploom in July of 2012. But they are actually the newer units (with multiple party modes) because they were both sent to me from Ploom as warranty replacements when both of my original ones had a heating issue.

So I'm pretty confident that they are real ;)

EDIT: Didn't read all the way through. Yes, I thought you meant it was purple while charging on the dock. I agree it is purple while getting up to temp.

I'm guessing the stem/tube is the dark spot on the top left.
That what I was thinking Silent, looks like there are a few "hot" spots in the oven. That's probably why I get the best results when I stir the oven around every 6-8 hits. hopefully someone from ploom will see this and possibly remedy the situation making the oven more evenly heated all around. If that's even possible. Still love my PAX! Thermal view is always cool. Always curious...
