Obscure and Obsolete Vapes

The I-vapor hit the USA market too... http://www.gotvape.com/images/images-new/i-vapor-video-still.png
I've contacted earlier the manufacturers (Skyda in China) and they can send a unit from the factory .. for 80$ with shipment to EU LOL.. They do single orders.. so that shall give ya idea of the real price of the unit :).
i-vapor-video-still.png

Anyway they said it is basicly like the No2 with a stainless steal chamber and airpath..

Basically the shape is the same.
The NO2 must be heated before placing the substance inside, and this is heated with the substance in place.
The NO2 also has a variable temperature setting that is very exact, while this has 3 temperatures.

The settings are; Low-320ºC, Medium 374ºC, High 446ºC.
Photoon2013-06-21at1121.jpg

I tested this one at the Spannabis fair and it worked pretty well, though construction quality was awful!

I agree.. it works pretty well.
While the temperature settings seem inaccurate, if used on high (446), this is one of the easiest vaporizers to use that I have ever experienced.
Easy load... easy on... and fast heatup (one and a half minutes)
It is also very easy to clean.
320 gave no vapor but some flavor
374 gave minimal vapor with nice flavor
446 was full vapor, but not thick clouds... nice flavor-
While I do not use this vape often, I have already recommended it to a number of patients that are limited financially, and that have trouble learning new things.
The thing is dead simple!

I too am interested in the tilt vaporizer - I too have read that same study which sparked my interest. I found an official ad for it on the French blog http://www.blog.vaporisateur.net/2012/12/29/vaporisateur-tilt-premier-vaporisateur/

vaporisateur-tilt.jpg

Here's an English translation of that French blog (c/o Google Translate)
Tilt the first modern spray - discover how modern spray has tilt
It is in 1970 that the first studies on the construction of a modern spray occur and early 1980s the first modern spray emerged. In 1981 more precisely, it is the first electric vaporizer lounge - Tilt the vaporizer is manufactured by an American company based in Woodstock.

Tilt the vaporizer was a spray that according to its creators allowed to spend about 80% of toxins, tar and other harmful substances usually released during combustion. The manufacturer of spray Tilt company even invested in a study conducted by American University to quantify and prove the numbers and advanced for this vaporizer results. The results proved them right and true hope was born, hope can definitely do without combustion.

Spray Tilt was a simple electric vaporizer with one hand on a heating element all under a glass dome gate to which is connected an inhalation tube.Despite the very successful results of the first electric vaporizer market modern aromatherapy - Tilt vaporizer, this spray has never been a marketing, mainly because of poor understanding of the phenomenon of vaporization by the authorities. The spray was mostly seen as an invention aimed at consumers of medical cannabis that was not accepted at the time, authorized and legalized as is the case in some countries in the United States today. At the time this poor understanding of the benefits of vaporizers and vaporization was originally the lack of interest and investment in the extensive research and real marketing. In fact as the law prohibited the use of medical cannabis, the use of spray was suddenly banned indirectly.

THIS is something else that popped up in my google image search for tilt vaporizer. It appears to be a smaller, more modern version of that old tilt vaporizer

I'd love to get one of these just to see how it works

That's a BC Vaporizer (not a current version). I'm almost surprised they're still selling these. The BC vape was my first purchase and my worst one. It's purely conduction and requires a very fine grind (starting with very dry herb). You end up sucking a lot of air and not much herb unless you really load it up. I got more headache than high from using it, but it was enough of an introduction to vapor to prompt me to look for a better model. I ended up with the Vapolution, which interestingly enough is now even cheaper for FC members buying straight from Vapolution than it was when I bought one in '05. For $15 more than the basic BC, you can get a 2.0 Vapo with AIW bowl, for an all glass vapor path. One of those deals where the old saying applies- 'the more things change, the more they stay the same'.

I ended up selling my BC vape for $25 and felt guilty about it.

Hey. I just registered, but I've read threads here before. This is a pretty awesome site. I like doing research on little known vaporizers, and here are a few that I've come across.

The Vaporade

$155

The Ape Vape:
I don't even know what it is..
http://apevape.com/index.html

The Pocket Vape
I think there is another vaporizer with the name...the site doesn't sell them yet
pic10.jpg

http://www.rockscillc.com/Main.htm

can anyone name any other vaporizers that aren't popular?
im guessing you just heat it with a torch?

keifmaker,
Some people, say, it would be not that good to use a heatgun for vaping,
but i think it is nonsense, because the original vaporiser, that was discovered by eagle bill 1994 was made with a hot air gun.
I think it is the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to get clean and powerful vapour.
eagle-bill_vaporizing01.jpg

The vaporiser my friend bought 15 years ago in amsterdam, cost 230,- Euro, was made with it, and still works great.
I use it since 10 years, and still 100 % happy with it.

Why is a hot air gun and bong my favourite vape ?

1. It´s cheap
2. It is easy to get
3. It is easy to replace
4. It´s fast
5. It´s clean ( with right temperature )
6. Full amount of thc ( near of 100 % )
7. You don´t get any fake vape
8. You don´t have to order via internet.
9. You can adjust the temperature ( when you want, you can vape with 600° celsius )
10. It takes not much more than 20 seconds to heat up.

One reason, why a lot don´t like vapes, is vaping with 200 ° instead of 230 or 250° celsius. The volcano goes only up to 225 °, that could be
the reason, why some say, they don´t get really stoned by it.

I lent my heat gun to someone, and when he gave it back to me, he told me that he gets more high and stoned, when he turns up the temperature. I use 250 ° celsius, because some sedatives and euphorants need at least 230 °.

That´s why i recommend my Bong with heat gun. Cost about 70,- Euro.
All you need is a big bowl, where you can place the gun in or at least on. A big one, I use bowls with caliber 30 mm or more

07584_120.jpg

In holland i learned, that i should start inhaling, before the gun is placed on or in the bowl, because the weed could fly away, when you place the gun on it, without inhaling. Just lay 1 pipescreen on the weed.

When the gun is on or in the bowl, you can see the vapour rising and exhale before you take a smooth, long puff and keep it a while in your lung.

Much more compfortable and easy, that way

I got a steinel hl 1910 E, cost 50,- Euro

Some even use it with a volcano bowl and balloonsysthem, but i don´t know if this is 100 % safe.

Archaic does not mean bad.
The reason I love the Zephyr Ion so much is it is like a heat gun mounted in a frame!
They still sell many Heat Gun oriented Vapes, and I know of folks buying them.

  • VripTech VripMaster Agent 007
  • Performance Impressions Vaporizer Kit
  • Got Vape Vaporizer Kit
  • Digital Heat Gun Vaporizer
  • ape vape heat gun
These are a few I see out in the community, and I am sure there are others.
While I am not physically able to manipulate one well, some purists feel that this is the only way to go.

Salutations DieHard,

Some people, say, it would be not that good to use a heatgun for vaping...

THIS thread is where Vapewithfire's archaic method belongs. Welcome home.

Hummm... Newer doesn't necessarily translate as better.

Well, i'd point out there are manufacturers who currently believe it's OKay for their re$ourceful customer$ to ventilate electronics through a cannabic bowl, many will go beyond the ~150 $ price range actually... If (for the sake of discussion) we agree to the idea that the Volcano is the reference then the question becomes how different the Steinel Heat Gun happens to be exactly.

39.gif

But this would call for a dedicated thread...

I think it is the easiest, fastest and cheapest way to get clean and powerful vapour.

Expressed as in your title, before the post was displaced... Yes, i can easily imagine the Volcano being defeated in terms of maintenance and cost! Additionally, since it's clear a Steinel Heat Gun isn't sold as a vaporizer and yet it appears to provide pleasant bag sessions, i'm thinking at least these don't come with expensive cannabic glamour attached; also it sure looks like a potentially stealthy solution to me, if one happens to keep tools around that is.

Volcano?... Maybe in some toy UFOs shop...

Nice hint to share.

Have fun, good day!!

15 years ago, brings back memories!
I actually tried one of those heat-gun vapes when I judged the 2001 cup in amsterdam.

The only difference being the chamber was even bigger,

I will agree to disagree. I'm sure there are some unscrupulous manufacturers that would like nothing more than for consumers to believe that theirs is the best, most healthy method for vaping. I trust my instincts, real facts and what my eyes see. I'm not on a high horse, I have tried some very unorthodox ( read, probably unsafe) methods in my life. I believe that many of those people who don't have a vape, or have never heard of a vape or whatever are not going to be converts with such a "Rube Goldberg" method. Heat guns are NOT made for inhalation. A reputable vape from a responsible manufacturer is. I'd rather smoke than use a heat gun.:spliff: At least with smoking, I KNOW what I'm inhaling more so than a heat gun.

I will however, defer to those with infinitely more vape experience than myself. @Vitolo, @grokit, @Egzoset .
I mean no disrespect to anyone's opinion. But I don't want to be beat to death with it either: @Vapewithfire .

I think I remember the demonstrators saying something about how it was a "special" heat gun, made for vaping safely. It was certainly very expensive, which is why I wrote it off. I had not used any vaporizer besides my first hotplate conduction dome vape, so it was fun to try at the time. 15 years ago they were way ahead of the curve with convection, although it's obviously on the archaic side of things now.

Idem. TO THE 3RD POWER WHEN IT COMES TO PICTURES!

Heat guns are NOT made for inhalation.

Please correct me if i'm under the wrong impression but i thought the Steinel Heat Guns were considered to be "clean" enough for laboratory applications and hence cannabic vaporisation as well. Maybe i've got mistaken at some point (?)...

I mean no disrespect to anyone's opinion.

It was only your opinions which attrated my attention, some members may use lots of personal radars on FC but that's not how i like to behave. Rest assured i wouldn't want to inhale through a heat gun bought on sale at Walmart, but i definitely remember trying to acquire a Steinel myself 3 years ago so i guess little of what i read at the time felt particularily disgusting (or i'd be against heat guns as much as i'm against ventilating electronics through the bowl)!

This IS my happy face..
I had a VripTech VripMaster Agent 007 kit years ago....Taste was amazing but way too cumbersome to operate..My hands don't work very well any more.

:o

How in the hell can you vape at 600 degrees celsius?
No, you cannot vape with 600 °, i just meant if you want tor trie the super fast 3 seconds vapsmoke hit, like with a flame, it would go.

But this would be not good for your health, and was not meant very serious. All i meant you can switch the temperature as high as you want.

RUDE BOY

Space is the Place
Heat guns do a great job but I also found them to be heavy and cumbersome. I'm also not real big on VapeBonging with bigger glass/water and AC current I don't even like using the Herbalaire on top of a bubbler or with a water tube.

I do know a couple of people who love their old VripTech stuff and swear by it as being the way to go, they are kind of old farts though the type who prefer VHS tapes over DVDs and such.

Hard to teach some dogs new tricks when they still see great value in the old and they own it already.

I don't think it's either Obscure or Obsolete it is old and simple, loud and heavy. Does the job but there are much better options now in the 21st Century.

Salutations Vapewithfire,

...you can switch the temperature as high as you want.

If it's still about the Steinel heat gun vaporisation setup then i'd have a quick look at some specifications:

HL 1910 E (34830): 49 °C - 593 °C (120 °F - 1100 °F), 3.6 / 10.6 / 17.6 cfm
HG 2310 LCD (34870): 49 °C - 649 °C (120 °F - 1200 °F), 3.6 - 17.6 cfm
It turns out i once was seriously interested in the HG2310 LCD model but the merchant doubled his price when i was ready to buy, so this killed the deal in no time of course - exactly like what happened in Montreal 2 weeks ago, with the difference it was about a VapMan i discussed over the phone a few days before...

Greed killed the deal!!
33.gif

Anyway, the HL 1910 E appears to have 3 fixed speed settings while i assume the HG 2310 LCD to have some form of linear control. Since both support a fan rate of 3.6 cfm i see this divergence merely as a matter of preference.

:peace:

ADDENDUM

It pleases me somehow to think that the device has been built to endure a temperature of 593 °C (even 649 °C) over a sustained period. Name a vaporizer capable to challenge that!... I mean, it only needs to operate at a fraction of the range.

When i bought my one, 10 years ago for 50,- Euro.
There were 3 models

the cheap, for 35,- Euro, it has 3 fixed temperatures ( not good )

the normal, hl 1910 e, you can adjust the temperature, but not digital.

the expensive, with a digital control, cost more than 50 % more than mine.

( this is the one they sold in holland for 230,- Euro with some kind of big glass vape bottle. Great, high quality one, but much too expensive.15 years old, and still working great )

[/USER] .

To say this is really heavy. With a good gun on right temperature
you get

clean vapour 100 % thc and 0 % condensate.
with smoking
dirty smoke 50 % thc and 100 % condensate.

Some people smoke untill they got smokers leg, lung or cancer,
just because someone told them it is not good to vape with a hot air gun or a vape.

Some people smoke, just because vapes are

expensive
hard to get
often not good, up to horrible

And a steinel gun would be a cheap and safe solution.
1000 times cleaner and les carcinogenic than smoking

My grandpa died, because of lung cancer
Someone i knew, died because of lung cancer at the age of 21.

When you say a heat gun is worse than smoking, it´s like
you say vaping is worse than smoking

Smoking kills and causes cancer. Vaping not.
( with a heat gun on right temperature, you got clean vapour as in the volcano. )

Dude.. Few Users had e-mailed Steinel and they got a response that they should in no case inhale the airstream of any of their models.. :) Stop promoting this way... and the model you use hasn't the electronics separated from the airpath so you will be breathing metal ions + chipped ceramics.. i doubt water can handle all of both..
There are better alternatives for that budget.. proven to work.. and more user friendly and less bulky than a heatgun..

They should not inhale the direct airstream, because it´s too hot.
But when you use a bong or a bottle, it gets cooled.

I could bet, there are a lot of people whoe write those stuff about vapes.

The components of a volcano are also not made for inhaling or vaping.
The use something like a normal hot air gun, that was definately not made for vaping or inhaling.
