MMJ & finally I was given the gift of life once more!!!!! :leaf:
========================================================================
I have Meniere's disease and was ready to call it quits. After time, there wasn't a day that passed where the world wasn't spinning in overdrive and my head felt like a swollen hot air balloon. There were no activities with the family, no outings, rarely entertained guests. There is a cure for this, with a horrible side effect.... through surgery, they remove the part of your ears that handles balance and the dizziness goes away. The only thing is, the same part of your ear handles hearing too. So you trade losing the dizziness for your hearing. I went to doctors, specialists, and many others with "ists" at the end of their titles.... all with no progress towards gaining any resemblance of a normal life.

I was actually considering the surgery, as at all times my movements were hampered by lack of balance and nausea.... seasoned with the fear of starting a full blown episode (lasting 8+ hours, zero mobility, on my back, and throwing up constantly....).

By accident, I came upon a journal entry from another Meniere's sufferer who found relief with MMJ. That day, I was out getting my req and supplies.

So, in regards to this being a medicine, I'd back this absolutely.

Please share this with anyone if you feel it's appropriate or can help them.

I don't like to end on the negative, so will state that Meniere's has very little on me now. As for daily dizziness, it's gone!!!! I can walk without stumbling, run, bike, swim, and do all the things I never thought I would be able to do again. And as for the full blown episodes, yeah, they come once or twice a year.... but when they do I no longer spend 8 hours pressed into whatever surface I happen to be laying on, throwing up non-stop till passing out. Nope, when I feel an episode, I heavily medicate, then go sleep it off!

I went from ready to call it quits, to hoping I live to be 100-something!

When people state that MMJ is a gift, I believe many really have no idea!

Hope this helps and sorry for the amount of detail.....

Having suffered from vertigo only once in my life, my heart goes out to. I couldn't imagine having it with any sort of frequency. Glad you found some relief in herb.
Thanks Tweek!

I am sorry to hear you even experienced it once! .... but at the same time glad it was an isolated event!

The relief I've gained is 98%! I went from daily lightheadedness and dizziness to only having an annual or semi-annual episode. And during those, the day simply turns into an early, heavy medicating session and a really long nap. :)

Have you ever looked into psilocybin? Apparently it works wonders for those who suffer from cluster headaches...I wonder if it would possibly work for people with Menier's?

No, but have seen psilocybin mentioned in in a few health-related threads here...

If it does, would be an awesome alternative to the surgical route, for those who cannot use cannabis.

I believe many would go to great lengths for relief! :)

WOW!

Dave, Thats was heavy!

God Bless you Brother!

I don't have Meniere's however ATAXIA (SCA) has some similar symptoms.

I was on an ATAXIA web site and this Cop said that Cannabis helped him to sleep however because of his job he could not consume it during working hours. Being a straight arrow I thought Cannabis was evil. However I was able to replace so many drugs? No side effect? I walk better? Talk better? Feel better? Sleep better? Less nausea?

WTF!

Why has this natural medicine been passed up?

You are an inspiration Dave!

I'm no longer the man I once was and will be one day!

Hey @ataxian ,

Thanks! God Bless you too! I researched ATAXIA (SCA) when I read your postings and am really happy to hear you've found this relief! And due to your postings, I am really wanting to try Cactus Cooler strain! That strain has a prominent place in some of your postings, proudly sitting between your multiple Solos.. I think your pictures are awesome! And Sincere Thank You for your contributions to FC and its members. You inspired me to get out there and help!

Not sure if you're on the same quest as I, but I had Menier's for 5-6 years. Took just about 5 years for the diagnosis. Then I was blessed to find MMJ and I was in control again. So, now I'm here to give something back and help others find their relief!

I too replaced almost all pharmaceutical medicine I was taking with MMJ. A true gift!

It's great to know you and read your updates on FC! Have an awesome day!

DDave

PS. Why was this natural medicine passed up? Because government and big pharmaceutical companies can't have the monopoly on growing, distribution, and sales. Because it's fairly easy to become self-sufficient.... and where's their profits then?

I was a corporate fast track career guy and surfer when I could!
@45 thing's got weird?
I thought I had vertigo at first.
Talk about doctors?
They all wanted to do something and get my insurance $$$.
Took me 7 years to figure it all out.
This (DR HOUSE) kind of medical professional was into it for the science more than the $$$ however he was a rich guy!

Thanks to him he discovered what it was I had.

I went to the best doctors and medical centers here in the USA. All the DRUGS they gave me were killing me!

When I quit taking drugs and changed my diet I could talk again?
I still struggle with insomnia that's why I keep wax pens near my bed. (wife doesn't like the smell of flowers).

I was also a cyclist. However the crashes hurt too bad. I don't have the correct balance to ride a 2 wheeled bike! So I'm looking for a 3 wheeler!
Sporty and light!

We can't give up!

Thank GOD the creator put CANNABIS in the GARDEN!

CACTUS COOLER is a HYBRID leaning towards the SATIVA side. The effect is good however it's the flavor I adore!

GRAND DADDY PURPLE is my favorite after 5pm strain with a fine glass of CABERNET or ZINFANDALE (mispelled)
I'm only good for a 1/2 a glass these day's. Cannabis as much as I have! No problem!

Right now I have some JESUS CHRIST OG that is very good for night time however makes me useless during the day!

I will get some BLUE DREAM or GSC for the day time and GDP or EARTH for night.

I have to keep mixing my strains so I don't become immune to the effects.

Actually I'm just like you!
I'm a student of holistic self medication!

We all learn from each other!

I will turn 56 this summer.
It will be three years since I retired!

May we succeed in our journey!

@ataxian , I will be out here with you fighting the good fight! Educating those in need!

I have rheumatoid arthritis, I hate it, it pisses me off. Some days are good and some days not so good. I've got it in my big joints, so thankfully my fingers are good. I've also got spondylitis in my cervical and thoracic spine, this is the worst thing I deal with. I've spent the best part of the last ten days on my back from putting my neck out.
I struggle to this day with opiates, I need to shift from having opiates as my main pain support to cannabis.
It will be nice one day if it's legalised in Australia and the culture of it doesn't have to be behind closed doors. The drs push meds on you, then before you know it, your taking a pill for the side effects of your first meds. Then you have to move your pill bottles from a plastic box to a drawer and start writing things down because your forgetful from all the pills. The toxic sludge pills that are crawling through your inner pipes start to cause things to break down, so you get another pill for that. Before you know it your immunity to the meds is topping out, so you need to take more and then for me, bad arthritis days need to be delt with steroids. Then when your cleaning your teeth one morning, humming a happy tune, you realise if your a lady that your sprouting a fine hairy starsh on your top lip from the roids, for blokes I hear you may, or may not get your very own set of man titties.
**screams**
Back away from the pills people ! No good ever comes from being the bearded lady. Vaping helps me greatly, with the pain and as a muscle relaxant. I'm more of a Sativa fan, indicas are too body heavy for me.

I'm waiting waiting, waiting some more for a special delivery of a 1/1 ratio THC CBD.
What is great about the cannabis culture is, the like minded people you come into contact with and relationships you make.
It's also fun, today @dorkus_molorkus introduced me to using the puffy bag thing, so we toked that for a bit, sipped coffee and he let me know of our 4:20 plans. it was very enjoyable. Then we talked some rubbish and went out and ate some nachos.

Health, weed and nachos. What more could one ask for.

Hi @Campers Crumpet, Thanks for sharing! My prayers go out to Australia today, wishing legalization happens for you very soon! While you wait, check out Leafly.com so you can find the THC/CBD strains that will help you most! There are plenty categorized as useful for pain management.

I dumped all my pills, except the one for Acid Reflux..... and along with it dropped 50lbs (in a good way, as I'm where I'm supposed to be now). Didn't diet, just happened after I dropped all the pills!

If you get a variable temperature vape, don't discount the Indicas vaped at low temps... if I dont exceed 170-175C, I don't get the heavy feeling, but do get relief from pain. Then later in the evening I revape at 200-230C, the herbs I already partially processed during the day. The effect is almost all heavy and really helps the insomnia.

Good Luck and shout out to Australia!

Thanks for sharing Mvapes, it's a practical example of what it must be like for you with everything. One thing I've thought about is, what disease would I trade mine for? I know stupid thoughts, but I've never been able to come up with an answer.
Some days, today being one of them I get jealous of people with Cancer because my irrational thought process tells me that, they either recover or die.

Oh man i had a really bad bout of it last night :(. The MJ did help stop the vomiting but i was still so nauseous. I couldnt inhale enough to have it knock me out but at least once i got to sleep i mostly stayed asleep only remember waking up once and i was back out within 20 minutes. I havent had an attack that bad since starting MJ but they tend to come in clusters. A really bad few weeks than tolerable for a few weeks or months.

Still getting the spins since i woke up but so far less then yesterday. Just cleaned all the ick out of my nose from throwing up last night, think im going 100% liquid today it doesnt hurt so much coming up or getting it out of my nose. Glad the MJ helped with the puking at least, nausea still sucks but its better than laying in puke and aspirating it when gasping.

Thanks Ataxian :). Currently less dizzy than i was when i woke up but its coming in waves now that the first attack of the morning is settling down. I have my ENT appointment next month so i can ask if they think it is meniers by the list of symptoms it seems like i though. I called my dispensary to ask about one of the strain i got when i couldnt find much about it online. Turns out its a high CBD pheno of blue dream so that seems like a promising idea.

Such a mess right now, hope my body calms after i pass the rest of this marker/dye from the test. Glad blue dream is still working for you i hope your body quits waking you up feeling crappy. Yes it is a bad week for us sick folks it seems. Two of my pen pals are MIA one for a few days though its likely she is in the hospital the other for 2 weeks with no word or clue and im very worried. It seems stable isnt in the cards for us ATM

Everyone at FUCKCOMBUSTION and my family gives me strength to keep fighting .Even though I m

May MJ give us the strength to keep fighting my prayers go out to all who will receive them. Can't wait for Florida to come around to our way of thinking the compasinate way

I think its safe to say every person with a chronic condition thinks this i certainly do. Its something you cant fully understated if you havent been in it. To be told "you will never get better only worse with small remissions if your lucky but dont worry your not terminal" *rolls eyes* well tell me where the good news is int hat statement because after hearing that how can you not worry about the rest of your life.

Well if anyone drops in and has some to spare send a few good vibes my way this thursday after 2pm. I finally have my ENT appointment and im hoping he doesnt blow me off. Alot of regular GP's an internists chock my dissiness up to my low weight and blood pressure issues but i had the dizziness before the BP thing and ive always been very small. Somehow that hasnt mattered yet *rolls eyes* . Hopefully he can rule out anything partularly dangerous or find something treatable instead. Id like to give that adjustment a try where they tilt your head around to move the fluid and all that just to see if it helps any.

Whatever happens thus far..and not to jinx it....but i havent had as many bad spells and they havent lasted as long since starting MJ. My last really bad day was on the 13th of this month ive had 3 or 4 not fun ones since but not lie on the floor in my own puke bad.

Hi @GenYHippie, have you looked into any of the exercises that help those suffering vertigo? Some refer to it as retraining your body to balance itself. In addition to finding the right strains for you, this may help as well!

Here's one to start with...

Hope this helps!
