I feel terrible for the families. Not knowing what happened is the worst. That said, this is one of the most fascinating mysteries in some time. I usually like speculating on these kinds of things, but there's just not enough info yet for me to make a credible educated guess.

"I am still perturbed. Can't these immigration officials think? Italian and Austrian (passport holders) but with Asian faces," he was quoted as saying late on Sunday.

I'm sorry, but that's some seriously flawed logic.

...Or maybe Italy and Austria don't have any Asians living there? I've never been.

Also, I seriously hate all this bullshit armchair speculation and conspiracy theorizing (911 was an inside job!) That's being substituted as "news" in order to fill down time in the 24/7 news cycle.

Unless your guess is that the plane is at the bottom of the ocean, you can get in line behind this guy:

Australian Prime Minister just announced they may have found something....

I think they will find this aircraft in the Indian Ocean . . . some day, I hope, because if it was stolen, well what an ingenious plot, and the implications are horrible.

Everyone talks about "smoke" in the cockpit, but what about toxic fumes. Lots of gases from combustion can knock you out in a controlled environment without being visible. I have a sick feeling this was some kind of rapid decompression (doubtful) or toxic fire, however, the move to high altitude for 22 minutes, enough to kill anyone on board from hypoxia, is puzzling.

What if the pilots had programmed a way-point at 29k feet, and after becoming overcome by say, carbon monoxide for instance, fall back in their chairs, the plane climbs, everyone dies, and the autopilot recovers, after a time at maximum altitude, to make its last input way-point, which it does in 3D, after which the plane flies until fuel exhaustion . . .

Why does Boeing make an aircraft that has a "pressurized" cabin if it can't maintain its maximum altitude without killing people on board? This sounds weird to me.

The pilots could have flown on using their own o2 supply,
or maybe the cockpit has a separate one from the main cabin.

Air pirates! Why not,
makes as much sense as anything else.

The pilots do have their own oxygen supply. The theory would be the pilots intentionally went to 41,000 ft and dump the cabin pressure. They let everyone die and then descend to a low altitude to land.

The pilots would have had to intentionally turn off the oxygen supply. The aircraft would automatically keep cabin pressure at a ideal level even at high altitudes.

So they turned off the transponder,
as well as the oxygen supply for the main cabin.
But where did they park the thing?
I don't think it will be found in the ocean.

My theory....Possible hijack from either the pilot/pilots or the two with fake passports. Took the plain up to subdue the passengers and they lost consciousness also....Plane flew on auto till it ran out of gas........Something like that.

Yea it's not like there is anything else we could talk about......Maybe all the politicians that were arrested the other day for corruption. How about that Yee! He is from San Francisco and was arrested for gun trafficking....That's some ironic shit right there!

If the plane was on autopilot until it ran out of fuel, it would have been located before it went down. Unless they had it programmed to fly at a very low altitude where the engines would be nowhere near as efficient.

In other news, my home state, Illinois, is trying to reduce cannabis penalties.
I wish I was able to open a dispensary with the new medical law starting this year.

Or at least a public option.

The plane does get crazy media coverage, but that's partly due to it not being a thing that happens. If cable news is your main source for news, you might have bigger problems anyway.

Who hijacks a plane to fly it into the ocean? I would assume the culprits would have rather of made a "big statement".
