Could I use this recipe to make abv infused gummies?

I am aware that I could make a tincture, either with everclear or glycerin.

I've seen people mention that they reduce the tincture by cooking it on the stove. This makes the alcohol evaporate and the tincture becomes more potent? I have about 18 grams of ABV right now and I plan on water curing it all. I could just add the tincture to the jello mix and it would dissolve in, right?

I make the tincture out of Everclear and then reduce like a sauce on stove (electric, if using gas need to be careful with alcohol/open flame). I generally reduce about 4-5 oz. of tincture to about 1oz. to add to hard candy recipe. If I add too much to the recipe the candy texture isn't right.... add too little and lose potency.

I don't water-cure my ABV - I generally use a little Everclear tincture made from soaking vape parts mixed with the ABV tincture to round out the range of goodies.

It sounds like you might be able to use similar technique to do the gummy recipe - haven't tried. If you do please report back and let us know how it works out.

You have the right idea. Do your water cure, and everclear extraction. Then evaporate all of the alcohol out so you're left with a (hopefully) mild tasting extract. The extract likely won't mix right into your recipe, but if you mix it with a bit of warmed coconut oil first, that should help distribute it into you gelatin recipe better. Then just keep stirring it well as you fill your molds.

I've been playing with basically this same recipe lately. Though I'm not a fan of the rubbery gelatin texture. My friends don't mind as much, but I'm going to search for another recipe.

Recipe will fill 20 ice cube molds (I use tiki heads). So if you added a gram of concentrate to the batch, you'd wind up with 50mg gummies.

6 oz jello
1/2 - 1oz unflavored gelatin (I've been trying to cut it back for less rubbery texture)
dab of coconut oil (to mix your concentrate easier)
1/2 cup water

I'm no expert by any means, just sharing my experience. Please let us know how your water cure and extraction turn out. I've been curious to try the same. And for a demo of this recipe, there's a lady on youtube that I got this from. Just search for cannabis gummies. She uses kief with a dab of glycerin though.

Yeah I watched her video. The only problem is that you need water to make the jello. Oil and water don't mix well. Have you personally tried adding the oil to this? I feel like when it was cooling the oil and jello would separate in the mold.

If I evaporate all of the alcohol I would have basically nothing because the alcohol would be the liquid in the tincture. Right?

Yeah I was going to mention how it doesn't sound right (oil and water), but with a bit of heat and stirring I really haven't had any problem with it separating out or "hot spots" in the gummies. You only use a tiny dab to thin your extract out. Hell, you can try it without oil if you want, I just imagine it'll take a LOT more stirring and more likely to have hot spots.

If you evaporate your alcohol out, you'll be left with a sticky cannabis extract, which you can then use to infuse butter, oil, chocolate, candy, canna-capsules, or anything really. But if it's alcohol tincture you're after then by all means, just don't evaporate it all away.
Edit: Tincture may work fine for this recipe, I've just never tried it so have no clue. But if you want to substitute alcohol for coconut oil, I'd do it the same manner though. Make an extract so that you can properly weigh and dose it, then dilute it with a few drops of everclear instead of oil if you'd prefer.
Edit 2: Reading back I see you're doing about 18g of abv so the extra step of evaporating completely may not interest you, but do reduce the amount of alcohol like Lo suggested. I would reduce it as much as possible while still leaving a bit thinner than a typical gooey extract.

Personally I think I'm going back to a good ol cannabutter extraction for my next batch of goodies, as I don't like the texture of the gummies. But they've received good reviews from everyone who's tried em, including dudes with some serious tolerances.

I just recently got finished making some gummies out of finely ground ABV/Soy lecithin granules.. I didn't cure, just covered in two different types of oil (enough to cover it but not an excessive amount, didn't want too much oil to mix with the water and jello/gelatin mixture) I Mixed a 6oz box of Cherry Jell-O with 1oz non-flavored gelatin, 1 pack cherry kool-aid, and 1/2 cup water, heated on medium heat, stirred for a bit and then poured into candy molds. 11grams of abv went into 40 gummies. I am a daily vapor consumer and 2 gummies before work had me super chatty and feeling great! light weight smokers eat about 1/2-1 and are done-zos.. I made them for a music festival this past weekend and passed them out and around to people and got great feed back!

Yeah, I made an alcohol tincture and reduced it. I made gummies but they were super planty, like chlorophyll.
