Ahh.. gotcha.. so its more of a personal tactile expectation that the Orbiter didn't completely meet.
I'm curious how soon before we see it at other retailers so I can possibly use a coupon code or something to obtain one.

The Orbiter isnt available for wholesale distribution, but it would be cool if a couple of EU retailers could pick it up so EU people can get one too (even if it is without the warranty)
Anyone got any links/guides on how to take care of the wood (in my case walnut) or waxing it?

If you wanna go the non-toxic route, I'd recommend Howard Butcher Block conditioner. Essentially it has mineral oil, bee's wax and Carnauba wax. The mineral oil will soak in and seal/season the wood while the wax adds a protective layer.

I would have to agree that the base is kind of ghetto... as there is certainly room for improvement.
No matter how much I fuss and fiddle with the metal arm, the bubble doesn't rest nicely in the base, the glass is slightly suspended above the wood.
Because the glass is suspended, the base doesn't hold the glass entirely level (no matter what direction I orient the glass in the base). The uneven angle of the water can change the dynamics of how this thing functions as there is not a lot of internal real estate to trade off between water and air inside that lil' bubble, and I end up adding more water to get the same cooling I'd achieve if it were level.
I cannot snug the metal slider all the way up - as pictured on the site.
With all that empty space on the bottom I'd like to see some kind of etching or aphorism.
Finally, there is a small somewhat ugly screw - also not pictured on the site - that has been inserted in the wood hole the metal arm extends from... It seems like more of an afterthought or a quick fix from the person that got tired of trying to manipulate that metal so the glass would rest flat and snug in the base.
All things considered, my complaints are minor in the grand scheme of things, and I would buy the orbiter again, over and over [imperfections and all]. You really can't beat the price, it matches all the MF gear, and the warranty -- the warranty!

Pretty sure it is the 1/4" ID x 3/8" OD Silcon® Tubing from the link OF posted (http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=23884&catid=799) on page 896 (http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-magic-flight-box.750/page-896).
Yes, it can dissassembled for cleaning, but I don't take it apart and usually poor ISO through the whip and use pipe cleaners.
The tubing is connected to a short acrylic stem (like the mouthpiece) and the other half of this stem is connected to the glass. The wood fits around the tubing and glass so the vapor never touches the wood.
It does not require much cleaning with heavy use, maybe once a week.
[The one needing the most cleaning is the one that connects the LB to the Orbiter, the draw whip stays much cleaner]

With my whip adapter I can take it all apart. GonG comes out of the wooden piece with the whip and a small acrylic stem like @meek420 said. Don't let the acrylic stems sit in ISO for too long, it'll degrade them. meek's suggestion of pipe cleaners dampened with ISO is a good one, I used q-tips to the same effect. I found it simple to take apart and put back together, and I've been able to easily replace the whip when the time comes, or when I want a longer or shorter whip.

Way to go! Now you'll have loads of fun mastering your orbiter technique, it's so much more fun and much cooler too.
I just was hit with a throat cold and then a stuffy nose cold, the orbiter made the LB so comfortable I was able to consume plenty. Without it I'm certain medicating would have been made more difficult with just the LB. This alone has already made it worth the purchase for me.
Oh yeah -- I think salvaging anything from the tubing might be more trouble than it's worth as it may clog before collecting enough to make it worth it and sounds not very easy.

You can if you want. I don't usually save it, just run it with warm ISO and dry it out before reassembling it.
Try warm water in there, it's amazing!! Definitely moisturizes the vapors and makes them way smoother than cold water!

Yea.. thats seriously whats been stopping me. I had the Orbiter in my cart and was about to check out yesterday until I realized how much shipping and tax tacked on. I might wait it out just a lil longer to see if they will eventually have it at retailers so that I can either get it locally or find an online retailer with a coupon code or free shipping + no tax.

I jumped onto the orbiter band wagon fast. Quite pleased.
Have a milk video using the MFLB:
Pardon the shaky camera its hard to get a good milk and hold a phone, a MFLB and PA at the same time.

To remove the glass from the base you must slide down the metal band on the two arms. Make sure your glass is dry before putting it back in the stand, wood will mold. The glass is completely round will not stand by itself.
Seems like side closest to exit port wants to percolate more so I find slightly raising the side evens it out.
I find clearing the vapor straight from the exit port without using the whips to be more pleasing. Any ideas for a glass mouth tip?
