Discontinued Epicvape EV-1/EV-2

@RUDE BOY @PNWMMJ ... I have found the only way to get an efficient extraction with the EV-2 upright is to load the bowl by sucking the ground herb up and then hold the bowl upright until I'm ready to place it into the vape to maintain the bowl pack. When ready I need to be hitting the whip/direct draw while I invert the bowl to place it into the vape (again to maintain the bowl pack). I don't need to do any of that when using it inverted and the bowl right side up.

@PNWMMJ the top hat screen gets stuck if I try to use em with any of my 3 wpas too. My plan when I first got the EV-2 was to use it upright with my VB ht but that very quickly changed to inverted on a normal water pipe and no top hat screen.

I have switched out the screens in all of my EV-2 bowls from the el bowl screen to a normal .583" like screen. They sit perfectly where a dbv screen sits in the joint. The EV-2 bowls don't have as pronounced of a lip there but it's there. When I tested the el bowl screens vs. The tradition pipe screen I found that the el bowl screen lets a lot more material through into my mouth and I'm pretty sure the pipe screens are slightly more efficient around the edges of the bowl ... more drag around the edges from the screen being folded in the air path behind the bowl with the el bowl screens?

How does the efficiency/conservation of herb material perform on the EV-2 as compared to something like the underdog? ie. avg. bowl size, etc.

The UD is better for smaller bowls ev-2 for larger ... ud may be slightly more efficient. Check the dbv thread I just quoted you.

I had a little bit better results last night loading and packing more herbs in the EV, Seemed to work better with .20 then .02, I'm very low on product at the moment and can't spend a whole lot of time getting it down just yet. ... Still I don't see it ever getting near combustion temps after an hour or two on boost.

Hopin' the man comes through tonight so I can play with an eighth or so and find my sweet spot on the EV-2.

Is the upper screen thats pushed up into in the dirrct draw stem for the ev2 removable?
Sry if i dident see someone say this already.

I still havent used the whip yet cause im waitin for the el bowl to ship but ive been having good sessions with the direct wand as long as i pack it tight but not too tight that it restricts the air flow.
I usually go about 3/4 the way up so when i put in my basket screen it tamps it down slightly.

I also took out the big screen that was inside the wand out and replaced it with a Dbv screen and i think it works better. Gives you a little bigger of a bowl size too. that could be good or bad depending on your situation.

The epic is treating me very well, something especially clicked today. Don't know what changed but now I say the EV-2 is a Great, big hitting vape. Maybe the herbs I have compared to what I had :shrug:IDK ??

Now it's no "work" at all to pull as much vapor as I can take in without coughing out a lung, although it's Probably pretty easy to do that too :hmm::doh: with either direct draw or with the whip.

I see this vape getting a whole lot of use for a long time to come. ... I like it ! ... I like it a lot !

Mostly cloudy here now, Visibility low(in a good way)!!!!!!!!

Andy, when can I expect my order placed on Wednesday 3/12 to ship? You said it would ship this Monday earlier and it still shows as Pending on my order. Let me know brother!

Update: Just received my order. The personal note about the shipping delay was a nice touch! I just have a question. What is this piece? I think it is supposed to be the El-bowl, considering there wasn't one in the box to accompany the whip. The one I received has to be a factory irregular. It's flattened, not 'L' shaped, and definitely won't fit a basket screen (also not included) nor into the EV2 itself.

Linked to the pic url because I didn't resize so pic is too large for forum post. Anyone else recognize this?

That's a mouthpiece for the whip, my EL-bowl was wrapped up in bubble wrap it is a very small and light glass piece. double check the wrap it's easy to miss, much smaller then I thought it would be.

Thanks for the clarification. The El-bowl was not included in the box. I searched everything again.

How does the ev-2 compare performance wise to other vapes?

I currently have a HI and I'm interested in the ev-2 if it can provide better water pipe hits. I like the gog nature of the ev2 and need something for bigger hits. The hi can deliver but I want better airflow that's limited by the size of the HI heat tube. the ev-2 seams bigger but does it have as much power as the lsv and cloud? With the current ev-2 sale I'm interested but i don't want something as good as the HI, i want better if that exists.

I would like to know how the ev-2 compares to the e-nano
(as far as capability, not just the form factor which is kind of obvious).

Compared to my underdog it delivers way bigger hits. It easily white walls my larger water pipes and delivers many back to back hits without having to reload so I use it as a session vape. I put it in the same class as my cloud+ but actually prefer it to the cloud as I can stir the bowl much easier.

Can't comment on the EV-2 vs the HI or the enano ...

I like the look of the nano which im sure ill be ordering in a few months, but i really like the fact i can use whip, direct draw, and get another EL-bowl to connect to water pipe :-) mwahaha, I also had another stroke of luck, i realised my solo was approx a year old, i emailed the amazon company i ordered it from last year and they're going to replace it under warranty so ill have my EV-2 for home use and solo for in bed haha and dog walking and taking to freinds houses, im glad im getting it replaced as the solo is awesome and i just purchased one of Eds wooden stems and it is awesome, really great stem really really amazing workmanship, and a big big thankyou to Andy from epicvape, answered my questions very quickly, I am very exited, happy vaping everyone :-)

I didn't see any male/male gongs when I purchased on the new site. I remember them from the old site though. I was gonna use a generic male/male.

I cant wait to get my first session in with the EV2, my first vape experience was the Alivi8, a lighter is used to heat the end then u inhale and get vape, well lets just say a few hours later, RIP alivi8 piece of horse crap, we had a fallout lol i killed it, but i did have a good time with the affect, so i ordered the solo, time to vape healthy and not combust, damn nicotine so addictive got my ecig to kick that demon now, solo was awesome but id forget to charge it and id always crave a smoke, more recently i have been really trying to kick the smoke so i was using my solo loads hardly smoking, just one before bed, but then boom, it died, this time i did not expect it at all, no turning on, its gone back under warranty but i broke a clip trying to take it all apart thinking i could maybe save her lol, then i lost 2 screws from the bottom and the mrs hoovered them up haha so i hope i get a replacement still, fingers crossed hahha, any how that brings me to the EV2, :-) after much research for finally getting a home unit and kicking the smoke once and for all i found this thread and u cool people and it fitted the bill spot on for me :-) the whip, the direct draw, conserving what ur using, the wood, the care taken to handcraft each unit, the service you get with andy, perfect, i cant wait, and if i get a new solo then thas my easter sorted :-) happy vaping peeps sorry to go on a bit haha
