MiniVAP Vaporizer

Hi all,
I'm new to vaping, bought a TTzig pen type. Was going to go with the highly rated (for it's price) Arizer Solo. Now I'm oh so close to saying , F it, might as well get the miniVAP.
I had one in my cart at Vapornation but too late to talk to rep on the phone so tomorrow.

1. do you think they have the latest version as it seems like this site talks about hardware, software, and accessory updates/changes?
2. an optional freebie is the Vaporicer. I know it's a cheapy but will it help/ be useful? I'm not getting a waterpipe system now, probably never.
3. saw a lot of posts on battery problems. Should I be worried? I want something super reliable.

I vape very little at a time so the "basket" appeals to me as the Solo has an upside down chamber that seems to need to be packed full, to not just fall out.
Thanks for any info!

You should get it from the manufacturer's website

Hi there-
The battery problems happened early on. You will know right away if there are problems. I have had 2 Minivaps wiithout battery issues.
It is a great vaporizer, small enough to take with you, especially if you are travelling by car. I use mostly ac and save the battery for when I really need it. Make sure to get both AC and battery.
As far as using small amounts, i dont use the basket, just load well ground material directly in..I use such a small amount the screen isn't even covered, and it is perfect 1 person dose.

Thanks for the + feedback on the unit.
I did the deed, just ordered one today.
Awaiting delivery and trying out this bad boy.
Was originally going with the Arizer Solo but upgraded :)

miniVAP colors??
Hi, I ordered the silver miniVAP but got an email that they are out of stock but black is in stock.
Anyone with black, is it gloss or matte or flat black? Does it seem to be a very durable finish, not just painted black?
They might get some red units in the near future. Is red finish durable?
Thanks

I have two black units. It's not glossy but not completely matte either. It's not even paint (I hate paint), it's a solid coating, and the logos are laser etched. It never chips.

Thanks Roger and JCat.
Sometimes a silver "appliance" is durable metal finish and the others are painted/coated with something
cheap.

My mini will be used mostly at home and some when out. Any comments on what color will be most stealth, where folks don't recognize what it is??
Which color would most look like "something else"? Can't legally vape/use in my state so would like a unit that fits in, outside and at home on the end table.
thanks for comments, your insight!

Hi there, I have black, and I think it doesn't stand out much. If it's night, you simply hold the minivap with your hand over the led's (easy to do). So most people just think you are drinking out of a sports bottle. Someone had a silver one with a red bull sticker- made it look like a tall red bull. I had a choice of colors when I purchased mine in person, and I thought black looked the best. Enjoy your new minivap

New miniVAP HELP PLEASE!
It just arrived but two issues:
1. it is black and top is truly black while bottom/battery is dark dark green with black undertones.
Distinctly different color. Those with black, is your battery portion black?

2. I called dealer when ordering to discuss what's included as there seem to be different names for the pieces. I asked if kit has everything, including the hockey puck shaped adapter that attaches to the top and plugs in where unit then runs from AC. They said yes it does.
It did NOT have that piece in the carry bag so I called. They said that part is not included. They are checking on a price but I was definitely told it was included.
Did your kits come with that piece?
Anyone have that adaptor/ not use it/ want to sell it?

Now I can't even try it out as depending on what happens, I might need to return it.
Thanks for any comments/help/suggestions.

Do you have the portable version, the single (wall adaptater only) or the full kit (portable battery and wall adaptater)?

For the color mine is grey and everything the same color....

PPN, they called it the full kit, that's what I asked them when I called before ordering. When I called after receiving it, they said their kit does NOT include the wall adapter but you can set it on the charger base.
Well, that's not what I was told/ not what I was expecting.

My 2 parts are definitely a different color, one black and one dark dark green, almost black but NOT black.

Do you order dirctly to Hermès Medical or a retailer?
Contact Minivap (www.minivap.com) they take care of you, you payed to get the battery and the wall adaptater you need to get it and you'll get it, I'm sure!

Enjoy your MV,good nugs of dry weed, fine grinding, small load in the basket with the silicone cap, you put a little piece of large tubing to connect to your WT and enjoy the taste and look at the clouds (with or without water!)

Hey y'all

I just joined this forum because I wanted to get into vaping.
I'm one of those guys that takes his health pretty seriously, which is why I'm so interested in the miniVAP, as it's tested to produce completely clean vapor. I ordered an Arizer Solo last week and I didn't even use it as it smelled like molten solder, hot electronics or leaking batteries of whatever (even after burning it in for like 20 sessions in front of a big fan). That kinda creeped me out, so I wanted something more safe.

Price isn't that much of an issue for me, but there is one thing that I don't like about the miniVAP and that's the coarseness of the temperature control. If I am not mistaken, your only choices are 190, 200, 215 and 225 degrees Celcius, right?
Being concerned with health (and really a smoke-hater) I don't want to risk combustion or the release of any toxic crap. As far as I'm concerned that only leaves me with one temperature setting, which is 190 degrees, because at 200 you are already at borderline combustion, or at least at an increased risk of releasing toxins.

I'm kinda bummed that such a luxurous and powerful vape doesn't have more temperature options. Especially since it seems to be common knowledge around these forums that your type of "medicatedness" varies with what temperature you choose. A lower temperature should leave you slightly more able to actually do stuff, but the lowest temperature on the miniVAP is already well nearing the flashpoint of CBD, which completely rules out the option of having more of a pure head high with the miniVAP, right?

I'd appreciate it if someone who owns this device sheds some light on the matter of temperature settings, combustion and their effect on the type of "medicatedness" that is achieved. Maybe I'm just overanalyzing this stuff bigtime..

EDIT: As far as I know this is a pure convection vape. Could it be that that the temperature setting is related to the actual temperature of the heating element, which would make it so that the air has already cooled down a few degrees before it reaches the herbs, so more than one setting is usable when one does not want his herb to combust? Or is this just wishful thinking on my part?

.............................................................................................................................

MinnBobber response, can't get this out of quote box..sorry.

I wish it had exact control, like 195, 205 etc but those that own it/ tested it found that it worked extremely well, even at the higher temp settings vs other vapes. Maybe because the temp control is so accurate, or like you said the hot air cools a little before vaping the herb.
These temps are no where near the combustion point. I was unable to find a chart that showed what vapes at what temps.
The higher temps do vape compounds beyond THC but IMO pure head high is more dependent on the strain. You'll get a superb head high from a top grade Sativa or Sative dom hybrid, even at the higher temps. Load it up with an Indica and it'll be a more body high.

Try to find the youtube of VapeFeind's video review. He has vaped every brand and puts this right at the top, equal to the vape quality of the top desktop models but still portable, but not stuff in your pocket portable.
Where are you located? Trying somebody's would be ideal...

Don't be afraid about combustion with the MV, it's impossible, they call the highest setting "light combustion" but in fact you only get brown abv (not so dark) with this setting.
I heard that Hermès Medical is working on a new unit with more t° settings.... wait and see

Habitually I use the pink and green t° settings but sometimes I use the red one with my WT.

Lot of people love the MV for the taste purity and its high, in this thread you can finnd somme people who told you that this vape signature is more on the high side than on the down side but imo it can make you down at red level!

I remenber some people in this tread who spoke about electrical taste in the MV, I never notice it with my unit (perhaps not the better taste when it was new, but it disappear very quickly), this unit is healthy and the taste is present all around the session, never "pop corn" taste§

I own many vapes but this one is my favourite, actually it miss to me cause it is updating at Hermès Medical, I'm eager to test it when it'll come back!

If you have health, taste and efficiency as priority, buy it!

Thanks for the replies, that's reassuring to hear.
Maybe combustion wasn't actually the right term to use though, I just want to vape safely.
I've heard a lot of times that vaping at 200 or more releases toxic materials, combustion or not, these toxins are what really matters to me and that's why I find it a bit of a bummer that the miniVAP starts at 190.

Something you should know. Now I will regularly clean the contacts with alcohol and q-tips, particularly the inside of the jack that is connected to the adaptor that fits the MV bottom. My vapor was getting weak tonight and since it's almost always the same cause, the connection wear and tear caused by my 24/7 use produce some kind of lime inside the connectors and the contact quality lowers. I roll the end of the q-tip to fit inside the jack to get it super clean. I'm getting lung busters now :)

It's lung busting in the wierdest way cause it's very fine and smooth, you can hold it for like 30 seconds, feel the hit. When you inhale this thick vapor the whole way up from empty lungs, you better exhale slow if you don't want to cough chokes fulls of vapors lol.

You can exhale super heavy vapor without a hint of cough or irritation. You'll always feel that potency in your lungs. Straight to the bloodstream !

@vaype if you want vapor that feels clean you won't be disappointed, especially with a bubbler it feels extremely clean on the whole respiratory system and body. I always finish my bowls with the hottest setting. I don't think theses high temp toxins you worry about are worth worrying about, because the MV is so good at delivering only the good stuff, even at high temps. I'm a true toxins freak in the most extreme ways, you'll see me wash almost everything even the most ridiculous items.

If you want super high you will get that with the lowers temperature settings. Long time ago, they planed for 7 temperature settings. In the future. We'll still have to send the units for update.

Hi, My MiniVap software is updated and unit is shipping to me, I hope to get it today or perhaps tomorrow, I'm eager to test it since Roger D told us is recent updated unit hits like a truck (I love this sentence!)

And it miss to me, and sorry for the Cloud, HA or Nano makers but a vaping day without my MV is not the same, my next vaping days will be better.

Stay vaped!

Still one of my favorite devices as well (I'm always super happy I have it when I'm travelling or go visiting a friend and want a heavy hitter!) ... Hits almost as big as the Cloud which is impressive for battery operated...! @Roger D and @PPN what firmware updates did you have done? Have some of the long awaited firmware changes and smaller battery come to fruition?

Hi Jcat, I got my unit since 10 months and I send it for firmware update 10 days ago, to be honnest I'm a little bit disapointed cause there is bugs in the new software (but it's still in beta), nothing revolutionnary but some nice improvement: adjustable timer on demand (firmware, not yourself), I choose 20mn...
A better extraction (if I look at the color of the abv) and nothing else except a new all in one silicone cap+whip (easier to use than the older whip).

I think if you bought your MV less than 1 year ago , it's better for you to wait a little bit until the new firmware update will be completly ready.

But this vape could sweet as honey and could hit as a truck (it milks my biggers WT as my Cloud+!)

Thanks,
When you say better extraction, is that then at the highest setting? Is it the same at lower temps but when you raise temp, at the highest setting the abv is darker?

New miniVAP ????
My new unit is still sitting in the box as my US dealer is working on an "issue".
The top half is a nice flat black. The bottom half is a semi glossy dark green. After their first contact with miniVAP in Spain, I was told that there may be "slight variations" in the color......
The two pieces are not the same color and not the same gloss/flat level.

Would you accept such a unit? The unit has a MSRP of $850. If this was a $100 vape, maybe I would.
Anybody else have mismatched colors?
I really question how this got past their inspectors.

Meanwhile I can't even try it as it might (should) have to go back for exchange.
I purchased from a big retail sponsor from this site--not naming them yet, pending
what is done to rectify this .
Thanks for any input/comments.

When I opened the box, my wife is 20 feet away and says, "are those supposed to be different
colors?'

I'm sorry for you but it seems the problem is coming from your retailer, I suspect a second hand unit cause nobody related this sort of issue before, perhaps they mixed 2 different units in one....idk....

Mine is grey and exactly the same everywhere, I hope Hermès Medical will take care of you....
