Okay, there it is. You see those two marks above the draw hole? That is not some kind of gunk or dirt on the box, it is burning from the inside out. I haven't used the box in a few days because it taste like burning wood :\.

Looks like magic flight will take care of it, but im wondering what could have possibly caused this? I have not combusted in a very long time, I'm just at a loss.. Could the use of the concentrate trays have anything to do with this? I'd love to get some more opinions.

Isn't that where the two rails that the trench screen is mounted on end? if there's a short inside the rails could get very hot, and that would explain it.

BTW how long does it take for them to admit you to the VIP club? been like 10 days since I filled out the form.

the inside of my battery slot/hole is slightly charred/burnt, has this happened to anyone else?

Are you sure it's charred? Sometimes material makes its way down there and the battery pushing against it makes it look dirty. Looks kinda like how the edges of a grinder get when the material gets caught in there and rubbed from friction. Pics would be helpful.

@stickstones you know man, I never have luck like this and it has made my day :D

@axakal yeah I'm not sure if I'm going to use it! Lol. I took a quick hit from it just to see if it would work, and the taste was.....yuck! Lol. I emailed Magic Flight to see if I would qualify for some form of warranty.

They most likely will, especially if you show em pics and tell the story. They have a good sense of humor.

Just got my Walnut Box! it really is a nice design with Walnut and the gold/brown screen on it.

And yes the charger is fully working with my simple plug.

Only thing i kind of regret is not getting the Finishing Grinder right away but yeah, whatever.. time 2 vape.

Just got my vip club reply. But now is the orbiter is out to the general public at $79 too? I could sure use a finishing grinder at a discount.

I may be wrong but I believe this is the first time something like this has been shown in this thread. It's certainly the first time i've seen something like that (that I can remember anyway ). Maybe some of the regulars may have heard of this before?

Whatever happens I'm certain magic flight will do you right.

I'm interested to hear the outcome keep us posted :peace:

I am certain that problem has never been reported here before.

That is where the rods are .. they are the source of current to the screen.
Not the use of the concentrate tray per se.... however possibly a PA that runs a bit higher than others, and the rods began after extra long "power-on" time perhaps got hot.
Just a guess...
.. that is if you vape at the hottest levels... and have long sessions.

This box hits harder then i expected i am really happy with my purchase.
It came with the glyphs which seem to work good, also got accepted too the club a few hours after applying.

Now i want the Orbiter to go with it, hoping for a EU retailer soon.

I saw something similar on the sub-reddit. That guy hypothesized it was honey-oil seeping through the wood.
On a side note, i wish they would make the orbiter with a piece of burl!

Ha! Caught another one! Someone show him the secret hand sign, someone else rebait the trap......

Welcome to the forum and all the fun. For what sounds like a first vape by (?), you sure hit it on the head. You don't see many used ones for sale, and you do see lots and lots of folks who cling to theirs long after 'moving on' to bigger and more powerful models. It's a very intimate, personal thing with many I think. I know I'm that way (at least sometimes).......as I think it should be, really.

For such a simple looking gadget, it's a real charmer isn't it? I really enjoy the fine details of the design and the 'feel' of the maker comes through loud and clear. I'm confident 'he' loves the product as well, this is not simply a program to make money.

Please enjoy it, that's what it's for.......

Thanks for the post, it's a fairly common story, but one I don't tire of hearing.

Yup it's my first vape, really needed to ditch the smoking for my fitness/health reasons and this will make it a whole lot easier.

Walnut simply looks great, the finish is sick on this little device, every corner is finished/sanded and the lid fits perfect on it.

Yes, agreed, full points for materials and workmanship.

I also wax my boxes (a couple solid coats of hard furniture/floor wax. Not only does it add protection but it makes the wood easier to keep clean. Just the ticket for us "native hitters" (without the stem).

You might want to consider it as you enjoy your MFLB.

What wax do you use? I have some really nice Ren Wax, but thats best left to make firearms look good rather than something like the MFLB.

Solid choices.. dunno why I let both slip my mind. Just put in an order of good old reliable Howard's butcher block conditioner.

I'm a big fan of Johnson's Paste wax, like on the kitchen floor. Any high Carnauba wax content wax should work fine. Carnauba is appealing because it's not only rock hard (lasts longer between applications than softer waxes and oils) but it's also a food product (found in lots of stuff we eat) so I don't worry about sticking my mouth on it. Don't eat your MFLB of course, Maple is not a food product. Except on pan cakes, of course.

I went with Howard's conditioner because I remember I've had good results with it on the wooden handles of my butcher knives. It's got mineral oil which penetrates and seals the wood and then also contains a combination of bee and carnauba wax for exactly the reason OF described.
