Dabbler vs Dabber vs KISS cart?

Whos cuisine reigns supreme?

The Vapor Brothers Dabbler, Dr Dabber Ghost, or the Titanium KISS cart installed on a O-Phos?

I use both the Dabber and KISS cart with my Omicron daily, but I prefer the ceramic wick in my KISS cart,

Interesting stuff about the batteries. Im going to perform some tests and measure output while in use.

Just bought a Dabbler, KISS 3.7, and the Ceramic Wick Dabbler cart. I have a fixed voltage 3.7 battery, a Variable Voltage battery, and soon the Dabbler battery.

Im going to put my Watt Meter in between the different batteries and different carts and record the data. Will be a fun little experiment. Just need to buy a 510 to 601 adapter, and also build some custom 510 adapters so i can hook the Watt Meter up.

Any recommendations where to buy adapters? I bookmarked the FastTech website but have not looked around yet. Just saw it linked in another thread.

Planetvape just got them in. They call them omicron screw adapters. Make sure you choose the right one.

Was checking those out!! Theyre calling them authorized w9 adapters. On the W9 website i only found the 601 battery to 510 cart adapter.

Funny coincidence i was doing a google search earlier today for the adapters and there were links to FC threads. The one i read was your for sale add Joe!! The C twist battery with 610 adapter. Just realized it now cause i recognized the screen name. The thread title had Joe at the beginning. Believe you said you got it for 5 bucks. Where did you get it and do you remember shipping cost?

What makes a good adapter? On the fastTech website they sell lots of adapters. Most are chrome plated brass. But one of the 510 to Ego adapters was "alloy". I viewed it as better for some reason. I think it was $1.30 vs $1.20 for plated chrome. Im planning/hoping to solder wires to the adapter directly. Its a half ass attempt at having fun. Plus im super curious to see the Dabbler battery at work. I realize dicking around with it will void the warranty. Im going to solder in a fuse on both sides of the madness but still.

Joe did you ever try a KISS cart on a variable voltage ego style battery? Or a dabbler battery? My only experience so far is Pure Gold using a BUD clearomizer and Ego twist set to 3.2v. Curious how that will taste on the dabbler battery as well.

@GetToTheChoppa the batteries you want to test are all pulse width modulation circuit boards. When measuring dc voltage your going to get 3.7v on a fully charged battery. When measuring dc + ac you will get the correct voltage. Once you finish your measurements you will realize the batteries are all the same nothing different.

When you do the math 3.7v + 2.0 ohm cart will always = 6.8 watts.

Now joe was talking about lower temps all this means is the cartridge he is using is actually a low resistance cart.

Example

3.7v + 1.0 ohm = 13.0 watts (hottest)

3.7v + 1.5 ohm = 9.1 watts

3.7v + 2.0 ohm = 6.8 watts

3.7v + 2.4 ohm = 5.7 watts
(coolest)

Hope this explained how temperature is controlled.

What a great post thank you!! Im slightly familiar with PWM.

So the basic ego style 510 battery pulses out 3.7volts all the time regardless of actual charge level? Is it smart and adjusts the pulse frequency relative to the voltage of the battery? For example when the battery is low it would need to pulse longer to create the 3.7v compared to when the battery is fully charged?

It is a buck system not boost.
Meaning if the battery voltage is 3.5v then output is 3.5v if the battery voltage is 3.9v then out put is limited to 3.7v by pulsing on off at different intervals to have an average output of 3.7v

That is why with PWM you would need to measure ac+dc to get accurate readings.

I dont understand the ac+dc part though.

Regular battery puts out a dc voltage a to get a accurate reading you just need to check dc.

But with a PWM system not sure why but you would need to check both to get the actually battery reading.


Maybe someone with a degree can explain it better.

The PWM will definitely trick my Watt Meter. I see it happen all the time while playing with other hobbies. If i have a 12v battery, but start to turn the PWM down, my Watt Meter displays a lower voltage. When really the voltage supplied is in fact still 12v. NOT the lower voltage its displaying.

This is how higher quality LEDs are dimmed. Cheap dimmers reduce voltage to dim LED, but that can have negative effects i wont bore you with. But a PWM dimmer is much better technology because it still gives the LEDs the 12v they love, but allows them to dim by having moments that 12v pulses on and off. It happens quicker than the human eye can register.

Stupid side note: Fluorescent lights pulse at a frequency some people do notice. It shows up as nausea or headaches. Your brain and eyes subconsciously notice the flickering lights and it makes some people feel sick.

Im trying to predict if my watt meter will still be accurate in terms of how much power the different brand carts use while on different batteries. I think the Watts will be accurate but the Voltage my watt meter is displaying will not be the actual voltage supplied. The watt meter might say 3.7v, when really its supplying 3.9v but just turning off and on. That part should not effect the watt reading though....i think.

After looking around at the 3 choices listed on this thread i have a beginners point of view. Having not ever used or seen these in person, i think the KISS cart looks best on paper. While the Dr Dabber has the most attractive pricing with their 5pack of heaters.

THe KISS is a ceramic wick with Titanium coil.
The Dabber advertizes their Titanium coil but uses a glass wick.
The VP Dabbler comes with a glass wick, but has the optional $35 ceramic wick style, but neither are using a titanium coil.

What does all that mean? I dont have a fucking clue. At the moment i have never even taken a hit off one of these pens. But just using basic thinking i would guess a ceramic wick is more durable. Hopefully able to clean it with a toothbrush and ISO as someone else mentioned. Maybe you can scrub slightly harder? Better taste possibly?

Any plans to sell them in quantities of 3 or 5 at a slight discount?
Have seen several people write they buy the Dr Dabber 5 pack of carts just because its cheap.
These same customers might switch to a KISS cart if there was a similar discount.
If they all performed the same, and were close to equal prices, i would still buy the KISS Ti just because i feel i would be buying the newest technology and therefor getting the best value for my money.
