So I have never owned a pen before, but I am interested in purchasing one. I want to be able to do oils/wax, marijuana, and a combination of the 2. I have been recommended the Omicron Persei Ti. I was wondering if this was the way to go for that price range. I want to pay around 200$. Additionally, on their website it says that if you are new to pens than it might be too complicated and I could break it?

I'm in the same boat as you. Some people recommend getting a portable for herb and a different one for oil.
The Percei seems to have a big following. It's a powerhouse. So if a beginner holds down the button too long it will break the little coil on the KISS cart that comes in the kit. If you're careful it shouldn't be a major issue.
You can run the Percei at a lower voltage so it's more beginner friendly. I could be wrong but I believe the $165 kit only comes in powerhouse version. Different battery and cart is around $30 I think.
Lots of people seem to like the SOLO and Lotus for herbs. Might check those out. There are threads for each vaporizer model in the "portables" section.

The Omicron and Persei are two different products by the same company, UPtech. The Ti refers to the titanium coil dab style KISS cartridges.

In my opinion, you should pick up an O-phos Ti, which is also made by UPtech and uses the exact same Ti cartridge. It's only around $50 from vaporwarehouse.com after coupon and free shipping. Use that for concentrates. With the $150 you have left, you can pick up a Solo from eBay for $130ish or puffitup for $160 (apparently puffitup price matches too?) and use that for herbs. That should get your feet wet and cover your bases. Pens generally won't do herbs well - the closest is Uptech's Hercules SR-74, but that's $100 on its own and you'll need a Persei to drive it, putting you over budget.

For herbs I suggest the Hammer, but then you can also use it for oils,

Convection hits also work for oil. But the method above in my opinion is more effective, just like using a nail.

The o-phos looks pretty cool. It says 610 threading, is that the "outside" threads that you find on common 510 ego batteries?

Im thinking of getting the Vapor Brothers ceramic core for $35 and running on a 510 battery i already have. But looks like you can get the UP TECH Kiss Ti for $25. Does it fit a 510?

Has anyone tried both? Why is the Dabbler $100 and the O-phos only $50 when theyre looking very similar?

You still need a thread adapter to use the KISS Ti with ego batteries, based on what I've read. But honestly, for $50 you can get the full battery + KISS package, without needing to buy anything else or different parts from different places.

What for? You already have a Persei. Get yourself an SS kit. That way you can run it as is, with two 18650s in the "long" configuration", or a single 18350 in "stealth" mode (as such):

I think you're familiar with the size of a KISS cart, so size comparison shouldn't be too hard, but just in case here is the long version next to the short version. You ger both tubes with the SS kit.

In a few articles I've read, they say that the atmos rx is good for oil and wax. Any input on this?

That is quite a reversal on the direction they were leading you. We have an Atmos thread (that link takes you to the last page), I haven't gone through the thread very heavily but the community makes me feel that it could be better quality and isn't very efficient nor consistent. (I like to buy once and not buy again, this seems like you'll want to replace it in the future.)

You mentioned wanting to spend 200, with a budget like that I wouldn't have interest in a cheap product from Atmos. UP Tech seems to be one if the best around and is highly rated here, you will also be able to actually communicate with the manufacturer.

I can understand their amount of tech and compatibility can be a bit overwhelming though so I understand looking towards simpler designs like AtmosRX.

I think the Dr. Dabbler pen would be a great alternative to the O-Phos/Omicron Lite, and also a more user friendly approach if you don't want to go the W9 route. But if you just visit vaporwarehouse I don't think it should be too confusing from the information already posted here.

What I dislike most about the Atmos and other pens of its kind is that these companies are simply adding their logo to cheap Chinese e-cig parts, stick it all in a nice box, and are selling them at a 100+% markup.

A quick browsing of FastTech's website (they sell said Chinese e-cig parts to the public) will find the EXACT SAME parts (batteries, atomizers, wicks, tubes, stands, tools, etc) that you get with any number of these "vape pens". Thing is they are to be had for quite literally pennies on the dollar compared to what an Atmos or a G Pen retails for.

If you want one of these style pens by all means get one. Just dont waste your money on branding and build your own off of the FT website.

Im going to return it amigo. Its possible i just got unlucky and ended up with 2 "lemons". Both my Percei and the Herc where disappointing. Which sucks because lots of people seems to love them. My Percei head unit has the crooked threads, and my Herc has a piece that is very difficult to unscrew. I would be ok if i bought them at a factory discount for slight defects. But i paid close to $300. Super happy with Vapor Warehouse the guy said returns are no problem.

Also im not so sure about the Percei design itself. The use of a soft spring instead of a real fuse seems cheezy. The batteries bounce around inside the unit it feels really cheap. Do other portable vapes save money by doing that soft spring dealio? I had an idea to install a real fuse and a stiffer spring. Also was really excited to test different batteries in the Percei. I have been in contact with battery suppliers and gaining lots of interesting info. I can still continue the research and post in the Percei thread. Nobody really showed much interest though. Besides you Caligula when you told me the AW and Efest are decent. Not sure if you know but Efest has a purple battery that they claim has a 15c Discharge rate. The Red Efest is a claimed 10C.

The thing is I'm a beginner with this so I don't know anything about the science or mechanics of these things. I really just want something that will last me a few years until something better comes out. I'm willing to spend the extra money because I want to know its quality. I also really want something that does both wax/herb, even if it means changing the chamber. I want something with the latest technology and I know a bunch recently were released. A few that I have been looking into is the buddy pen 3 in 1 by vaporite, the dube by white rhino, and the trifecta by white rhino.

Seego vhit reload is 15 bucks and ego battery is 20 bucks. Thats basically the same as these systems. What you will find is the dry herb pens are less than adequate so get this cheaper version to find out. You will end up using the concentrate pen but not the herb.

Instead look for a good herb vape like a firefly or solo. That is what is going to really make you happy.

I was almost lead down this road as a beginner wanting a pen that really does it all.

But I got lucky and love my firefly. A convection vape is what you want. With a ceramic disc it can vae concentrates too. But I really use a variable voltage mod and rebuildable drip atomizer for concentrate. For a beginner the ego and seego vhit A(looks like ecig evod tank) will be stealthy and do the job for concentrates. For dry herb get the reload but as a curiosiy because none of these pens are that great for dry herb.

There isnt a pen model that can do herbs and waxes well. If there was we would have happily mentioned it. The T-Vape is great with herb but it would be better to get a real herb vape. I recommended the Hammer as it will be able to do both herbs and concentrate exceptionally well.

I understand you're a beginner so it may be hard to believe, but we have been looking at vaporizers for years and I like to think we have a good generalization of what works and what doesn't. Your best bet for longevity would be getting an O-Phos, I'm not sure how many times we have to mention it.

Brands to ignore/avoid, White Rhino and probably Vaporite, also 3 in 1's are not long lasting nor will they be able to do all three as well as a vape specifically designed for 1 of the 3.

I would suggest reading up on the vapes we've suggested, I only see quality vapes mentioned by us, also feedback to what we are saying is also very useful.

Shiggity is correct that you would end up only using the concentrate chamber as the others won't work well, or at all.

So what your saying is that there really isn't a good pen for vaping herb period. So if I want something portable, I should still to wax/oil and if I wanna vape herb I should get something less portable than a pen. And the pens that all of you recommend are the dabbler, ophos ti, and glencoe?

Bingo! Yes, if you want to vape herb there are some portables that can do concentrates but the stuff on market that is "pen" style just isn't up to par for herb honestly.

You can read the threads on the Dabbler, etc. to see if one fits the bill for you.

Almost any herb vape you can put a little concentrate in between an herb sandwich to vape too :)

Do you mean Grenco, if so, then no, I highly recommend avoiding their cheap, low quality pieces.

But the Dabbler and O-Phos are good, but I'd recommend saving money and getting the O-Phos and a real herb vape unless you plan on using that in front of everyone.

I guess it got overlooked but the T-Vape is a great herb only pen, but if you want to do concentrates its possible but not worth it.

For an herb only vape I recommend you get a Hammer as it delivers vapor comparable to the 200+ dollar vaporizers and can do oils comparable to a Nail.

I've already posted a video on the Hammer doing nails and my technique is much improved the moving the dabber was not needed.

Here is a video of the T-Vape if you have interest, I suggest skipping to around the 1:47 mark for the T-Vape.

Less portable? There are many choices for pocket portables that you can carry in shirt or pants pocket.
