Why purchase?
- Because I imagine I will get better economy/health/comfort/strength from all those in the short-list compared to my mflb+pa. Is that wrong?

History:
Last 2 years: MFLB + PA
Before then: nothing (never deliberately inhaled anything combusted)

Current short-list (open to all):
- Vapexhale Cloud Evo. (when due in Aus? Also, I have no familiarity with water attachments, so that aspect is kinda intimidating.)
- Arizer Solo
- LSV
- Underdog/enano (aus power/shipping/timeframes?)

Accessories:
- Please also let me know what additional accessories like mesh screens, extra glass bits, whatever that I should consider part of the package that maximisers the experience.

Please remember I'm a n00b on anything other than mflb (which I've really enjoyed).

Thanks and hugs. :)

if you enjoyed the MFLB with the batteries, I believe you should get a plug in vape, and keep the MFLB for portability. I would go with the Nano here.

Two things. One, is that he stated he uses his MFLB with the PA, not with batteries. And two, why do you suggest the Nano over the other options that he listed?

which is why i said "if", just beacause he uses it with the PA doesnt mean he ONLY uses it with the PA.
I chose the Nano because
1) the efficiency is probably similar to the MFLB.
2) i figure if he's never combusted and only uses the MFLB, he shouldtnt really need a powerful vaporizer like the cloud/LSV since I think he shouldnt have a high tolerance.

Probably should've mentioned this in the 1st post.

not on you list but
silver surfer/da budha would a good choice you can find them on ebay pretty cheap

personally for plug in vapes i like my volcano/plenty there a bit costly around 250 on ebay used

Gotcha.

From my experience though, I went from my PD to an LSV. My tolerance is super low (one of the lowest here on FC if not THE lowest being a gram lasts me over month and that's vaping every single night), but going from the PD to the LSV has been pure bliss. Love it.

Not a typo. With my PD, I was able to get 5 hits from a mere 0.025gr (40th of a gram). That's about how much the bowl would hold, and being that I only vaped at night, 2 to 3 hits is all I needed. I'm using about 30% more with the LSV though. I guess that comes out to a bit more than a gram a month now, but I just started to do a test. Measured out a gram at the beginning of this month to see how long it lasts. My tolerance may have taken a bit of hit since getting the LSV. We'll see...........will report back.

No. Hes quite proud of his wussieness. ;)

I used to be proud of my machoness, but I kinda out grew that. ;)

Yeah, that's why I've never bought an ounce. An eighth is about as much as I'll ever buy at one time.

Greetings and welcome fellow Aussie!

E-Nano without a doubt is my recommendation to you. The solo is a great portable, but not particularly well sized/designed to be stealthy or particularly portable. If you want a portable, the Lotus is what I would recommend.

If you are like me, like high temp effects of vaping (more similar to, but not at all the same as the effects of smoking), then the Lotus is the only portable you should consider, if you truly want to use it portably! This being said, I have heard good things about the Persei, although I have no knowledge of it personally. @canj00digit? can probably help you out with info on this one, given I have purchased his Lotus because he uses his Persei more as a portable :)

If you vape at home and not on the go, E-Nano without a doubt. The Sublimator XLR looks great, so does the VXL Cloud, but plenty of people who own this caliber of other vaporizers still swear by the Nano! The service is definitely as good as it gets in terms of after-sales service/repairs as well. I believe Andy gives limited lifetime warranties to members of this board.

You will need a stepdown transformer to use the E-Nano in Australia. They are designed to run off US Mains AC power, this is half the voltage of what we get through our Australian wall-holes. Plan to keep aside $100 odd to get a good isolated stepdown transformer (any wattage will do) that will allow you to leave the Nano on for instant usage as it was intended.

My Nano was express shipped, cost $25 extra (total of $50 shipping, well worth it IMO for the herb you save owning the unit) to NSW and took 3 business days from when I paid to receiving it. This was obviously super impressive!

Hope this has been helpful!

Cheers

Yup, yup, I agree with what this man sayeth (thats a word, right?). :)

You cannot go wrong with the E-Nano.
Very powerful little vape.
Should be in every arsenal.

The Lotus (and other flame vapes) offer a different experience than electrics imho... as herbivore said it can really appeal to recently converted combusters and high temp vaporists. As he said though I now use the Persei for portable so the Lotus is off to live with herbivore :)
As for the Persei, if you want to know more about that, the men you really want to speak to are @Caligula or @Sleepin in CA.

Now I am off to watch another goddamn documentary about how The Man has fucked us all.
Fucking The Man, I hate The Man.
Damn The Man! Save the empire! or something.

hehe speaking of the Persei, I'm blaming it for my current level of obnoxiousness in this post.

Thanks for the warm welcome, all. :)

I'm off to happily research the lotus and persei. Not familiar with either, I'm ashamed to say.

Before I do I've had a moment to think through my requirements a bit more, and I think I'd like to spell them out a bit more, to try and help (but this will probably now become a stupidly long and unwieldy post).

- The concepts of strength/economy,as I initially used, don't sit comfortably with me. So, I'm instead changing that to...
- Maximum dosage range. What I mean by this is something that can best support both plentiful and lean times of supply as optimally as possible. I assume this is via things like both the min and max amount of material that can be added, what temps it can do, etc. Am I wrong assuming these devices can to a high dosage range than the mflb+pa?
- Extraction efficiency. Maximum possible (I'm viewing this independently of dosage range).
- Health/Comfort. Happiest throat and lungs possible. Are any devices/attachments significantly more or less likely to have me cough, for example?
- Maintenance. Least amount possible. This includes knowing how long I should expect before it fails.
- Material prep. I have a small 2-piece spacecase grinder. Is there something better I should start using?
- Loading effort. Easy to load/unload. The least amount of loading/unloading the better I guess. Don't want it to be messy (eg. easy to reclaim abv for repurposing).
- Logistics. Does it stay put (I'm worried LSW will roll around, eg). Does it have a long power cord? ...?
- Socialisability. Ideally would be able to hand it to someone with barely other than words like "sip like it's a milkshake/hot tea/..." and know it will be a good experience for them because it'll just work.

It would probably also help if I described my current mflb usage. I'm not sure how to best do that because it's something like a rate of use that's probably important rather than anything else? I dunno... 2 trenches / half a day is pleasant feeling, something like that?

Some reply (thx again!) follow ups...

Nano-- Is there a video showing loading/unloading/using? Also, I'm concerned the maximum dosage range can't go as high as the others (but that's because I'm not knowledge enough to properly understand what cawshook means by "efficiency similar to the mflb" and "not need a powerful vaporizer"). And thanks for the tip re step down transformer. Do you have a recommendation if I head the way of the nano?

Lotus-- Initial reaction was "lovely" and then I started feeling uneasy about going flame. Not sure I care for the look-at-me noise flame lighters make, amongst other things. Also, my partner, gorgeous creature that she be, does not partake. She is used to the silent and smoke-free environment provided by the MFLB. So it would be very poor form of me to change that without good reason. But with good reason, anything is possible, of course. :)

lwien-- Your feedback grabbed my attention given your low dose LSV positive feedback (it seems it gets high dose positive feedback, too). Also, the "Steele Concept Tube or Transfer Wand". Any chance you can point me to threads explaining advantages of these add-on bits?

Ps. Glass/Water/Ice attachments-- totes lame, but what's this all about then? I'm looking for the best experience I can get and I think I might be missing out on something? #N33dToPimpR1d3?

The Nano features optional GonGs (for connecting to glass pieces) which have adjustable bowl sizes. I have used the very first iteration of these. You will not be left wanting for bowl size. It also maintains heat better during draw than the handful of other vapes I have experience with. This will be the best bang for buck big hitter you will find (aside from the lotus, which does some pretty epic hits too in video's I've seen).

Check out the videos in caligula's sig for more info on the Nano in usage. Get your hands on a good glass piece, check out the glass section of this forum to find out what will be best for you. Vapor is very dry on the throat, which can lead to coughing. Water filtration seems to add moisture as well as obviously cooling the vapor, this helps loads with the lungs/throat/coughing.

My girlfriend is much the same as in your situation man. However, the Lotus will give you quicker, bigger hits and crucially, more sustainable heat than any other portable IME (I am not familiar with Persei of course). These are all true vaporizers we are discussing here, combustion is difficult to accidentally do with the Lotus from my reading here, but if you turn the heat to 9 or 10 on the nano with flowers, you could find yourself doing. 8-8.5 for buds seems to be the upper heat limit to prevent combustion in the Nano. The Nano gives the biggest clouds from the least bud, but allows for much more bud to be packed if required. I would truly suggest that this is your best option here if you are looking to use it at home. Leave on all the time, silent operation, looks beautiful (my non-partaking girlfriend loves the wood grain and design)!

For isolated stepdowns, this is what I use:

@CitizenVape Welcome to FC.
+4 for the nano! It is a great vape. Adjustable temp. Allows you to have total control of your experiance. Great flavor, small load size. Powerful enough to take on many different vaporizables. Fc discount. Great customer support. Dependable and reliable. Lifetime warranty for FC members. Looks just as beautifully as it performs. It has never left me down. If you chose the Nano, I think you would be very happy with it. As I have been completely satisfied with mine. Good luck with which ever one you decide on. Let us know which one you have decided to go for. Hope this helps some.

Whats the doco by the way mate?

lol indeed it did... calmed down now... I was testing phase earlier... you know, when you just must get really fucking blasted in the process of learning/tuning your technique. We all must suffer you know. ;)

Solo has a good dosage range can go as low as ~.030g (diameter of the solo stem but barely enough for one layer). You wont have to worry about cord in social setting. Very low maintenance, no mixing needed, very good extraction maybe a step below enano?
@Caligula
^He could probably expand on the differences for you since I believe he has both

-Solo: Has a long reputation of being a really powerful battery-operated vape.
-LSV: Probably the best quality low-cost performance you can find.
-EVO: If you want the most luxury and powerful extraction currenly possible. It outperforms LSV but cost much more.
-Underdog/enano: Super simple, portable (not battery operated), efficient. I imagine them as small fast Solos for home use.

Please remember I'm a n00b on anything other than mflb (which I've really enjoyed).
Thanks and hugs. :)
If you mastered the MFLB, you are not a noob!

Well, a MFLB already has a broad dosage range, but it takes longer to vape larger loads.
Log vapes support only fixed small load. They compensate the narrow range with a really easy and quick reloading.
LSV would imo work well with larger loads but give airy hits from small loads.
EVO can vape almost equally well quite a broad range of loads: from the tiniest ones to about 0.4g. So it wins here i think.

- Extraction efficiency. Maximum possible (I'm viewing this independently of dosage range).
They all extract really well. I've heard some rumor about the EVO providing something like a "more complete extraction experience". I've yet to try this.

- Health/Comfort. Happiest throat and lungs possible. Are any devices/attachments significantly more or less likely to have me cough, for example?
The all-glass airpath of the EVO is the unltimate healthy system. The other ones are really good too. From the other other I would pick Solo or LSV as they are also partially glass and they can be easily cleaned.

- Loading effort. Easy to load/unload. The least amount of loading/unloading the better I guess. Don't want it to be messy (eg. easy to reclaim abv for repurposing).
All of these are really easy, but EVO is also spill-proof.

- Logistics. Does it stay put (I'm worried LSW will roll around, eg). Does it have a long power cord? ...?
EVO cord is detachable, Solo is cordless, Log vapes are small, light and almost indestructible.

- Socialisability. Ideally would be able to hand it to someone with barely other than words like "sip like it's a milkshake/hot tea/..." and know it will be a good experience for them because it'll just work.
I think all of them will do the trick. None of them should really fail at giving vapor to a noob. The EVO should be the most consistent at this becuase of its PHS.

I can agree with comfort, since the MF tends to be harsh due to a very short vapor path from the bowl to your lips. I'd also agree with strength if you mean bigger hits. Economy, assuming you've mastered the MF and don't run it at high temp all the time, will be harder to control with a bigger hitting vape, but it's all in how you use it.

I had to send two of 'em back myself, so I can't agree with that. I'd be considering reliability if I had to return ship from AUS. Since the LSV is really the time tested SSV in a different configuration, and you should be able to get it with the voltage setup you need, I'd say that one would be your safest bet for a reliable model. I do like the nano for ease of use in switching from direct draw to water filtration.
