Doesn't anybody use the SOLO to VAPORIZE?

You can't vaporize serial numbers!
Just loaded my 18mm GonG stem that I got a little while ago and noticed that it was blown crooked lol... whaaaaatever.. time to vape!

PV better be getting a lot of glass because I think every one in this thread has talked about getting more when they re-stock! I have a feeling they will be going fast!!

So, those numbers that aren't really a model number- you don't think they increment over time? The higher the number/letter is not more recent??

Arizer is not slapping a sticker that says M1B1 on a Solo that was just built last week, and they weren't releasing Solos labelled M1E1 a year ago.

They're most likely revision letters, but some people said their Solos which should have been able to charge+use at the same time couldn't. Not sure if that was just faulty electronics responsible and not one of those "we'll have half of this lot charge and use and half not" things. It's relevant information as far as whether you should consider buying a PA or not (my M1B1 needs two cables) and I guess now airflow differences as well?

They mean something, just not to us.

i love my solo to get medicated and stoned. It works amazing. it blows big clouds that tastes great no matter what the numbers. these last bunch of pages have been all about serial numbers. kinda getting old. by now most solos are gonna be charge and play. These badboyys are selling like wildfire seems like. doubt there are that many "old" solos even been sold on the internets now. lets get back to pics and tricks of our toys

You'd think that... but my M1A4 can be used while charging!

The only way to get the "newest" solo would be from Arizer. Anywhere else won't know what is new and what is old. They will just send what they have.

Good point.

What is the most recent model number?

I'll give even odds we're discussing model/serial numbers again before Saturday morning......

OF

Hey! I won with an hour and change to spare! I forget how big the bet was, but someone owes me something.......

This is one that's just not going to go away I guess. Especially while some are hung up on 'the number must mean something'. I agree, it probably means a fair bit to those in the know......and they ain't us. IMO that's not an accident, Arizer doesn't want to put that information out and are being very successful at keeping it under wraps. Not to mention getting a lot of guys jumping through all sorts of hoops for 'the latest model' before finding out for sure that it's better......which IMO it's not shaping up to be?

You'd think that... but my M1A4 can be used while charging!

No way, you must by lying......I have it on highest authority (I read it on the web) that that's not possible.

I'm positive Arizer would never intentionally mix the numbers, that might confuse us, right?

Ataxian was dead right, 'the serial number is not the part that makes vapor'. IMO Solo's well earned reputation was built on the post ceramic bowl unit (through many 'model changes'), the new models are different. From an offline report I've been given about the differences in function (like can you recall the last heat level on 'use while charging' and how does it shut down) it seems like the software is different than either mode (PA or battery) before. To me that's an open door to the devil and his handmaden, Murphy. I'm not so sure it was broke, I fear 'the fix'.

Still a guy spends his money hoping to buy satisfaction. And that's a very personal thing. What pleases one might miss the next. For some just the thought that 'I didn't get one of the XXX ones' is tragic indeed.....at least is after he finds out the other guys has one that is different.

Probably the same 'human nature' thing that lets you be quite happy about your salary until you find out the fool in another department is being paid more. You still get the same money, do the same job, work for the same boss but now you're being abused. Best plan, IMO, is to ignore his pay check.

I'm sure there are guys kicking themselves for being so clever and dumping their inferior ceramic model a while back. Time will tell if we're living a repeat?

For now, I think Ataxian has the answer, 'here and now, boys!'. Enjoy the Solo you have for the finely designed and built tool it is and don't sweat the number on the bottom.......the vapor comes out the top.

Why did you have to tease me with that photo!

Now I have to get some bent stems for my SOLO's!

What's the black ring do?

Look their are many options available to us!
The reason I only use SOLO's is because they work.
I have 3 of them.
If someone as 30 different portables that's their business.
I keep it simple really.

While boating one sunny late morning I was looking at boats 3 times the size of the one I was on (It was big and luxurious already). I said to the owner, "Don't you wish you had a bigger boat"? He responded, "Their are a lot of people with less money and their are a lot with more than I"! "I'm glad to have what I have"!

"Be happy with what you have"!

Human want's are insatiable!
We always want more!

I've been waiting to buy my solo for a week now but puffitup and pv are both sold out of the black one, where else can I get the newest solo with a free grinder for under $160? I really want one

I ordered mine from ebay seller "my rubberneck", a month ago.
I got the M1E1. they advertise it as the newest model with better air flow and charging and using it at the same time. they don't specify the batch number but they say they get new arrivals every 2 weeks.

I got mine from the seller cleanairforever, I don't care what the model number is.. Just as long as it can charge while in use, that's all I care about

Mine was also from myrubberneck.com, but it was a warranty replacement.
Believe it was an R2D2, no that's the STAR WARS robot. It was an M1D2 for what its worth.
Has all the new features. Although it may not be the best for battery life, I admit the use while charging feature is a fine thing to have if you need your medication NOW!!!!

I am really surprised too that Arizer didnt make a gong or a water tool for the Solo.

I say when ordering stems or gongs make it worth your while and order a few at a time at least, because PVs shipping on glass is expensive. They are also out of stock frequently.

If your're like me you'll be breaking one every now and again. That's why I will not spend over $75 for a WT, if they break you're out too much money. I'm too much of a clutz especially when very medicated, I'm sure you know what I mean.

Vaporblunt's WT that's mated with the Pinnacle Pro, I ended up buying 3 when they were on sale. The F-Bomb sounds great but, $109. Is a bit pricey for me. The cheap glass forum is worth reading through, sorry maybe I should have taken this post to that forum.

We should call them VIN . Vaporizer Identification Number

I get what you're saying but disagree. What we should do is drop all this misleading talk about models. No useful information there for us to share IMO. It's confusing the new guys and NOBODY here knows what the real story is......not that that keeps them from sounding like they do.

I really believe there's a better than even chance Arizer is deliberately making it confusing......as in on purpose.

Hopefully my case isn't common, but I figure it's worth adding here for reference:

My power adapter (the one that you can use while plugged in) completely fried today after 1 year of heavy use. Yesterday I noticed it would turn off and on during use intermittently. Today I saw the power adapter's green light toggling on/off as it was giving me problems again, this time I smelled a hint of a burning electronic smell coming from the plug area as I was trying to heat my Solo. I went to unplug it and right away felt it was abnormally hot. As soon as I pulled the plug out from the Solo, the plug head briefly made a hissing noise before that burning electronic smell exacerbated. After unplugging it from the wall and waiting a moment, I touched the adapter head and it was indeed warmer than usual, which left a powdery residue on my fingers. Toasted.

I did some searching on here and came across OF's post regarding a cheaper replacement. I've ordered these 2 parts and want to give a heavy thanks to OF!
