Arizer Solo

Ever since rigging my power adapter for my Solo, it's changed completely. I don't bother with battery levels anymore, I just charge it up till before it's solid, and then use the power adapter for everything. When I step out of the house the battery level is at 7. Come back and throw it on the power adapter and keep going.

That's just how I feel. The PA is liberating and is a must have imo. Best purchase I've made for a long while.... and I paid top dollar in the UK for an oem version (£50 iirc).

My PA stopped working after a couple of weeks of use, and had to send it in for a replacement... what a horrible experience that was lol. Back to fretting over battery level and charging the bloody thing twice/three times a day.

Had to wait three weeks for the replacement (Arizer and stock and all that) and to say I was happy to see the replacement arrive back eventually would be a bit of an understatement...

Unit 2 is still going strong thankfully.

From what I've read is that I still register my Solo with Arizer and get my warranty stuff through them, correct?
I'm honestly not too worried, their communication with me so far has been good.

EDIT** Mid first session. :smug: My grinder definitely grinds wayyyyyy too fine for the solo stem. Mouth fulla weed lol. Either I gotta just break it down with my fingers or buy those screens.

ok.....did my first session with the solo...and...WOW...!!!!

yea right... "wow" is the only thing I can think of....

I don't combust, and my experiences so far are with a vapir air one 5.0 (sold, was too bulky) and my trusty 3 years old mflb with PA (v1).

I really had the impression that my herb isn't that good anymore as it used to be....but I was wrong.....way wrong.

after 4 tokes on 3 and 4 it hit me hard...! almost too much. to get the same effect on the mflb I would need 2-3 trenches.

I can't decide if I'm happier that my herb is still good, or that I bought such a efficient device.....LOL !

to quote some other members I totally agree with:

"it looks like a light saber handle from star wars"
and
after hitting the solo: "everything seemed cartoonish" ...although i had just missed the pink elephant...

to sum it up....
I have read a lot of posts like this one, but hey, it's another thing to read something and another thing to actual experience it, to find it way better than expected.

just my :2c:

I've not seen fake Solos out there. There are some imitators, but I've yet to see a flat out fake.

This is probably due to the fact that the Solo is made in Canada, while the Pax is made in China. Read into that what you will.

So the last few weeks of monitoring this site and vaporizer distributors, I can really say I'm confused as to which model of the Solo is the latest. Every site claims that theirs is the latest but they all have different model numbers. What I know is the M104 is the oldest and had the ceramic bowl that used to chip, so they came with the M105 which came with a SS bowl instead. I dont think there is a difference between the M105, 106, and 107 (correct me if Im wrong), but now there is the M1A, M1B, M1D, M1X, etc.

Which is the latest model? And what are the differences? Im looking at that Vaporseller site and it is offering the M1X but it does not say it has the Pass through charging feature. Can someone clear this model situation for me!?

Just really trying to know the product before I invest in it! :ugh:

To chime in on the grind issue I bought a 3 pack of domes hose screens at the hardware store for barely a dollar and trimmed it down to fit. Cheap and accessible if you want them before mail order can get you real ones.

There are no model numbers, there are production lot numbers. Furthermore, we have seen that Arizer sometimes releases a batch with earlier numbers than the previous batch. Arizer does not announce changes to the Solo. The major changes have been from a ceramic-coated bowl to stainless steel, and more recently the ability to charge while in use along with some airflow changes. The Solo sells quickly so ordering from any of the bigger retailers should get you the latest version.

The ability to charge while in use isn't necessarily a good thing, since it will reduce battery life. Even if mine could do that I would never subject it to such abuse.

I recently PM'd PlanetVape concerning the Solo/Chilliums they plan on featuring. Their response was: "Hi Snappo,
We are a bit behind on those, but will be having some in the not too distant future, thanks for the continued interest in them.
Kind regards,
PV"

I've been wanting a sort of shell case for it, not too thick but enough to protect it. Maybe a silicone skin or something? Just don't want it getting scratched up and stuff. Wraps would also be nice, if you remove the screws from the bottom I believe you can detach the metal housing to wrap and cut around, then the cap screws off. I have a silver one and wouldn't mind a matte black or something... lots of wraps and pretty cheap too!
Bless her heart, my granddaughter knitted me a Solo sweater:

This type of thing might be useful in cold weather, but I would caution users about over heating the unit and damaging batteries etc.

guys i have a question does your solo (new models only) charge and heat at the same time. what im trying to say is do you see the green light (charge) and red light (heat) flashing while its plugged into the power adapter and you are vaping because my black one does that i just want to confirm that

Yes the 2014 models can charge and heat together

I have an older model that doesn't plug and charge. The new one I just bought does, M1E1 but there are other numbers out there that plug and charge. These have just come out, over the past few months. I really like the draw and think the PVHES stem works just as well as the stock stem, because of the easier draw, which puts the cherry on top for me.

I was satisfied with my older model Solo, I wanted a backup and got a new and improved version of something I already loved. I'm not sure over time how the battery will hold up? I did the two battery drains and charged it back up to a full charge.

Hopefully I seasoned the battery, like OF said. Thanks OF for your words of wisdom.

Believe that when charging the heat mode can be used by setting the heat level. When actually heating the charge is reduced to a trickle. However the battery will probably last longer if not used in this way. Best practice is to get the proper PA to avoid using the battery as much as possible when external power is available.

Offtopic question: any of you make your own smoke buddy(spoof) and can share details. I need to be a little discrete at times and would still like to vape inside. I was going to get the smoke buddy(spoof like) cause I hate the old college spoof but wasnt sure if it was a waste

Can someone recommend a decent case for a Solo? Mrs PoopMachine gave me a Solo but sadly it showed up with all the glass busted. Waiting for replacement glass to show up now.

Does anyone ever put their solo in a mcdonalds cup or something when they go out? Living in the NYC area makes things tough to conceal things, and I wanted to know what everyone uses to keep their solo hidden or discreet in public (if anything).
