Hello everybody!
We are in a new world around here in shuttered Zapville but I can still comment on some Zap related info.

Once we got into making GonG shortie stems, it became clear that all female GonG fits are not equal(Hmmmm?). Our stock stems have a 1/2" outer dimension. When we turned the GonG end down to fit the glass, most would work fine but some of the stems would fall through different glass pieces. We then found some tubing that was 9/16 OD and began using that for the GonG stems. Never had a problem after that. Just sayin'....be sure to check the stem for fit in your glass before you cut it down.

On another note, I'm headed over to the Vapor Lounge soon to start a new topic. I searched the topic first on FC and found a little stuff but I want to personalize it a bit more. As most of you know, we have had some unique experiences over the last year and a half or so. Now it is on with life in a different way and I will be looking for some help from the old and new FC crew. It's really cool. "Rick, you have an entire community of good folks than can help you through your journey. Do it" I said to myself.

Looking forward to seeing some of you there soon.

What a wonderful day today!

We got a call from our lawyer about three this afternoon. I said "hi Jeff, how are you doing". "Just grand" he said and started laughing when I said "well, that is a new one, grand". Then he asked if I was sitting down. In today's mail was a copy of a motion from the State Attorney General to the judge in our civil case. The motion was to DISMISS the civil case against us. Some of you may recall that besides the criminal case, Idaho filed a civil case against us to take our home, our sons home and our farm because there is a forfeiture clause attached to the criminal law against manufacturing paraphernalia in our state. It is now all over except for the final approval by the judge which should be routine. We should also get our records, computers, cameras and everything else taken from us on July 25th, 2012 by the Idaho State Police. Of course no "contraband" which is just fine with us. Thank you Idaho and more important, thank you Universe!.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and celebrate the Winter Solstice this Saturday. We will sleep very well tonight.

That has to be such as huge relief. Especially coming this time of year.

Excellent News & Merry Christmas

That is phenomenal news Rick :)

I'm glad everything worked out and you guys are okay. Forfeiture is scary stuff, regardless of if there is a base for the accusations that were against you and your loved ones.

Sleep well and Merry Christmas, God bless!

Still madly in love with my maple Rockzap all these years later. But I have a question about the Hildbrandt power supply.

I have been using one for a very long time, but I realized I was running it way too high due to the power supply becoming faulty in it's second year. I would normally run the vap 24/7 around the 14.2 - 14.9 range.

Since I purchased the power supply directly from Hildbrandt, I never received Rick's instructions, and I am unsure what the right voltage to use is. I just bought a new one, and I would love to know what range you guys use, and what is best for 24 hour use, before I turn it on.

Thanks!

I would imagine 12v but I can't say for sure.

If you want to leave it on 24/7 I'd suggest 10-12v as a 'standby' voltage and then bump it up to your operating voltage when ready to use. With a 'standby' voltage in the 10-12v range it'll probably take 10 minutes to come up to full temp for use. As far as operating voltage goes it's going to depend on how hot you want it, very subjective, that being said 13v to 14.5v doesn't sound out of line for a RockZap. As the heating element ages it can sometimes require more voltage to reach the same temp so again it's just a matter of whatever voltage works for your needs. :peace:

It's been a long, long time since I posted here--or on any forum--but I want to go on record as saying that Rick and his products have been a part of my life for more than a decade. I have other vaporizers, mostly for stoner gatherings, or for use "on the go"; but I have a Zap on my office filing cabinet and one sitting on my home desk. They are beautiful. They are simple. They work great.

What another great day!
Got home from town and found a few posts on my (old) thread. Even topped off with a post from the Hammock Guru. HG is a very special guy we 'met' years ago through good old Aromazap. He lives in the jungles of the Far East and spends his time helping far off folks/children get some kind of health care. Another glimmer of Gods love spread by one of 'us' in a very far off land. It has been years since we communicated. Thank you so much HG for the thoughtful post. Good to see you are still cruising the waters in your good ship lolihospital.

Today was great because winter has finally broke in our neck of the woods. Snow is melting fast, ice is gone, spring is coming. A week ago we had 5 below with a couple good snowstorms between then and now. We will be up on the hill churning the soil in the high tunnels any day now. Besides yards of our own compost from Wilma, Daisy and Kobe we also have a ten yard load from the local Elk farm to spread here and there. Last fall we added a 20x 48 foot high tunnel to the maze so we should be getting a good early start at Howling Hills Farm. Makes me forget all about the very long winter.

Today was also a special day in our journey after forced retirement from Aromazap on 7/25/12. If some have not kept up, there is more on the Cold Turkey thread in the Vapor Lounge. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/cold-turkey.11512/page-3

Anyway, today I graduated from "level 1 outpatient treatment" at the local addict help center. They just don't want me anymore. I tried to tell them from the beginning I was not in the "one size fits all" crowd but had to jump through some hoops before they agreed I was an OK guy. It was neat because most folks in the group which changes weekly due to people relapsing and going to jail, are young.....18 to 40. Lots of different addictions from the most common, alcohol, to meth, heroin/opiates and of course marijuana. I got to give my spiel on lessons learned in my clean and sober life plus of course I added plenty of Zapman wisdom to those who would listen. At the end I got some very nice comments about how I have helped people over the last three months. I actually felt kind of like some kind of hero which has not happened since some of my old FC days.

Going to be done with this fiasco before I know it. My lawyer got 'the letter' off last week to the Idaho State Police to schedule a time "when I can pick up my clients personal property" that they hauled off that day in the big white van since both the criminal and civil cases have been adjudicated. All liens and attachments, etc on our real property have also been released.

I also got started with my community service doing my time at the local (no kill) Humane Society. Having lots of fun meeting new people and cleaning feed and water bowls, kitty litter boxes and bedding. They do a great job. Everything gets changed, cleaned and sanitized every day so there is plenty to keep us all busy.

On a more serious note, I always ran my Zaps at 13-13.5 volts which is very close to what the standard wall wort puts out under a Zap load.

Vape ON! Crazy that after 46 years of daily use I still have no triggers or desire to start up again. To be honest, they still 'got' me and I have a withheld judgement (everything dismissed when I am done) which is an incredible incentive to just say no. No gin too. Much easier than I thought it would be.

Another milestone this week in the Zap saga.
We finally got word that we 'can come on down' to the Idaho State Police main office in town(Coeur d'Alene, ID) to pick up all the stuff they would allow us to take back home. Ironically, the date for pickup was Feb 25th, exactly 19 months from the invasion of our property. Over a year and a half yet on the day of the event all the LEOs said..."oh, about six weeks and you will get your stuff back". We surely have learned so much more about expectations in the last many months, especially when they involve the powers that be. We were excited to get all our records returned and of course the computers. So we roll in with Jeff, our lawyer and the first thing we are told is "we really goofed up, all your computers are still down in southern Idaho. I have called them and they will ship them up immediately." (they also took two computers from our sons house) So I say...." do we have to pay for shipping?" "Oh no, this is our mistake so we will pay the shipping". "Good" I say. As we trudge through the rest of the very unseasonably snowy day in town doing chores we begin to laugh about it all. MORE money they had to spend on us! Already many thousand, possibly over a hundred thousand dollars spent on big bad Zapman and they still have to pay to ship 3 huge heavy boxes 500 miles! Alright! Take your bust and shove it!
I did get in to pick them up today and everything is intact but they of course did peak at all the bad stuff we did. Taking a long time to update everything.
BTW, no Aromazap stuff returned. NADA. Not even Pats kitchen scale. What a joke and how inept they are. What else can we do but laugh??

Everything about your situation upsets me Rick but I can't think of a thing to be done. It's just not right and I strongly reject and protest the whole drug war mentality that caused the authorities to come crashing down on your kind, inoffensive life, disrupting it, seizing your property and threatening your home and livelihood.

My Oak Rockzap is still giving great service providing a healthier way for me to consume legal medical cannabis- it has been plugged in nearly continuously for two or three years.
