Counterfeit MFLB's......

mrweed

vaporizer review blogger
well, i don't believe that non of these actually reach vaping temps, except for one that, of course, combusts, unlike the magic flight itself :/
i have a dragon light and it does actually get as hot as the magic flight, even if it's a cheap piece of shit.
i guess they've faked their own statistics^^
also these information are very relative, since it depends on the batteries you will use and is not an issue of the device itself.

but yes, i agree that most of these are probably dangerous

I don't know... I've sorta got eyes for that Dragon Lite.

I'm thinking it might just be my next high-tech portable purchase. And I bet the ladies love it too.

I'm not sure if y'all noticed this or not, but.... it's got a fucking dragon on it! :whoa:

EDIT: Sadly, the Dragon Lite was the first vaporizer I ever tried. :disgust:

I consider it a stain on my vaporizing career.

Great Scott!
Interesting... Palm 2.0 is on their list. :uhoh:

:peace:

I think its hilarious...and honest. Its a ripoff. If it did something better, but used their design...thats evolution and progress, which I'm 100% for. But something as simple as the MFLB, you really need to improve it some way to not just be a crappy copy.

The MFLB isn't really that expensive for what it is. I sold mine and it doesn't do the job for me anymore, but for anyone willing to buy the copy I'd say just get the real deal. The warranty is a good portion of the price justification imo.

Not the vape for me, but it was when my tolerance was really low. No point in knocking off something relatively cheap.

I think that it could be argued that the innovation of the easily removable/replaceable screens in the Palm units are a meritable evolution on the design. I still don't like VB's business style, but I think that it is wrong to call it a direct knockoff when it actually did improve on the design.

The Palm 2 stands on its own as far as performance and taste goes, it is a good little vaporizer for what it is.

Plastic is kind of a space age material. Some like those in the P2 seem very well suited for the job at hand.

The question of Magic flight owning the patent came up with the original palm and palm 2 and trvb seemed to believe it would be a long time before patent pending became an actual patent.

What about the FlashVape ?

I have one of the sainsation ripoffs. I bought it as a Magic flight for a backup and never used it. The only way I found out it was not genuine was by trying to sign up for the customer club for the Maud Dib box. Of course they did not let me join that club with that fake piece of crap. I can't fault magic flight for that, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
The thing that really burns me is that I bought it from Amazon as a genuine Magic Flight. At least those other vapes look a little different or have another name.

Much as I like and respect Magic-Flight, they are misusing the term "counterfeit". There is only one real counterfeit on their list, the Sainsation (Direct Copy). I don't think it would fool anyone who has seen a real LB, but it might look genuine to someone who hasn't. The quality is obviously much inferior to the real thing.

A counterfeit is made to deceive, so it has to have the MF branding and markings. Most of these are knock-offs, meaning that they copy the design directly but have markings that identify them as a different brand, e.g. Elipse, Da Kube. Even the Forevertop isn't a counterfeit since it doesn't have MF branding. None of these knock-offs should fool anyone into thinking that it's a genuine Magic-Flight product.

The Palm 2.0, Vapars, and Dragon Lite are neither counterfeits nor knock-offs. They are listed because they infringe on Magic-Flight's patent pending. They use the principles of the LB but not the direct design. The Dragon Lite comes closest but it does have a significant variation: the battery doesn't have to be skinned.

I used to own and use a Palm 2.0, and I found it to be a likable device with significant differences from the LB. I think Magic-Flight has a case against VaporBlunt should their patent be granted, but that's far from a given. I would not touch any of the other products listed.

I wonder how the Volta fits into the above scenario.

Good question. It clearly doesn't violate the MF patent application insofar as using a wire mesh basket heating element is concerned. It does (and Dan admits this) imitate the form factor. I haven't read the MF patent lately so I don't recall whether the power configuration is a potential violation, but I don't think so. I say that because I'm pretty sure Magic-Flight knows about it and it's not on their list.

If this thread is moved to the new Counterfeits sub-forum, a lot of these posts will probably disappear. Those threads are intended only to inform people how to spot a counterfeit, and aren't meant for discussion.

The Volta and MFLB are Not at all the same, other then being made of wood and vaporizing herbs.

I think it's more than just that, Rude. There are more similarities than just being made out of wood and that they both vaporize. The overall form factor and how they are used have more similarities than differences, at least that's how I see them.

I would agree with your statement though if you were comparing say, the PD to a VaporBros. ;)

They are about the same in the way the no2 and the DaVinci are the same. Both do the same thing but they are not copys. Whats the same? They are made of wood, they vape herb using heat generated by a shorted out battery, They are both conduction and you need to shake it.
Other then that in my mind the experience isn't the same.

the PD is a log and the VB a whip vape But yes @lwien I would say the PD/VB and Volta/MFLB comparison is about the same. In my daily use they serve similar but different needs.

When i read it about the palm on their website, it stated that it wasnt a direct copy but still infringed on their patent... As others have stated.

I personally wouldnt consider any of them even the magic flight. But if someone doesnt have $100 to spend or whatever the magic flight costs they shouldnt be vaping in the first place

This ain't right mud I've givin a few vapes away to those who are less fortunate then I am and in need.
SSDI and SSI often leaves people destitute!!!!!!!!
That came off worse then what i meant. What i was trying to say is that if your gonna try and save $40ish dollars by buying a knock off magic flight, you shouldnt even bother getting a vape because the potentially harmful materials and poor QC that are most likely used in those others probably negates all the benefits you would get from using a vape in the first place.
