The Lotus Vaporizer

Yep, saying "quite ok" is probably an error from me, considering what lotus produce and the overall experience it gives! Don't get me wrong, I used LB and FV (still own them) and I'm just taking the Lotus much more often, at home and on the road!

I used the expression: "quite ok", probably too fast and in lack of other expression.. I totally agree with "great deal" ! When I'm using the "quite ok" expression, in french ( "pas mal" ?), it sounds in fact like pretty good, IMO. IDK how does it sound in English, cause words "quite" and "ok" have pretty positive meaning for me. Also I was reacting to the fact it would be @Croupier first vaporizer. I think the people (I'm not saying novice or experienced are right or wrong) when they look at the Lotus, are just thinking it is over priced for the material they get... Like LB, in a way..
People could think : for the same price you can get a unit which "weight" much more or is more stealthy, look solid or more hi tech/fashion ( i'm lookin in subconscious), with electronics and buttons and more "control", .. But at the end, it doesn't mean you can't get a great (or better: divine?) experience, with control over your vaporization and pleasure in operating it with great success and all of this with a simple-beautiful-looking, flame based vape.

It is such kind of vape that IMO, some persons won't even look at it after they have tried some other. But in the other way it can really suit a novice need as a convinced vaporist as well.
I'm sharing it with friends like no other vape. I generally operate with the lighter and let them hold the pipe and tell them letting me know when to stop, for sure after a few seconds i'm stopping them if they are too gluttonous. It is great to show combusters what amazing result they can get in a few seconds, just sucking on that "kind of pipe".
Vorrange is right : it is one of a kind ! A must have in my honest and modest opinion :brow:.

Yes the lotus does this to all of us, attracting session among big vape devices.

Imho, it is the real deal for evangelize and converting (hate that terms of blood) heavy combusters to vaporisation.

Amen, Hey man.

About screens, which screens are you using in your Lotus and with which results ?

I was using regular ones till I lost one and ruined another one (bent mesh). I'm now trying various kind of screens.
So... lately, I have cut some screen from a FV screen. I doubt any debris is going to the stem now and it will make cleaning even easier, + less smell in it as well.
I'm still searching the best process to clean the stem properly, but that screen would probably make things easier.
About results after 2 days : I find that the vaporization isn't much different as before. The vapor is as nice, maybe less harsh as I found myself pulling clouds like I never did (without a water intermediate). Probably my throat can now handle more thus surprising me with the quantity I inhaled (way to much). Airflow is probably reduced but I don't find it obvious.

I guess this has been discussed here in the past..and saying Lotus original screens are better?
Maybe FV screens are so good in the fact they have really good airflow while being super "dense" without any debris going through it. And no clogging if a brushed is used from time to time (hash is another story and need another screen)! Hope you get my point. If some of you has FV screens, please try it out and let me know what do you think ?

Another thing I would like to see is : a 14mm female elbow/joint for the WPA (or even a future glass WPA?). And a glass stem which would connect to that joint by some way ? That stem could be as fine or tad bigger then a FV of LB stem as the vaporpath from the aluminium stem is pretty narrow too. This would provide a real glass-pocket-able Lotus ! This would fit in a protective pouch which would be even smaller than the original. And the glass elbow could be inclined toward our face so the heat from lighter would go opposite way. The al stem does a wonderful job in term of durability, but there are so much space to improve a glass vapor-path, it's exiting me!

My old Version of the Lotus cap cracked.. on its own.. not even while it was on use either dropped.. I have to say it has seen a very light use.. and wasn't flame abused.. I will take some photos.. later..
So basicly when i went to bed it was whole.. and then was awaken by a cracking sound.. i woke up and looked around... and i saw my lotus at my desk infront of my computer which is 5-6 m away from my bed.. separated by other furniture so no way it has come in contact in anyway while i was a sleep..
Anyone has ever encountered/reported this issue.. The split looks almost surgical.. located near the pin and totally maims the function , and i swear i have never dropped ,pressed or anything like that.. i guess it was either a defect in the wood.. or because it was an old model purchased in 2013.. and maybe the wood dried over time or storage wasn't right at verdampftnochmal.de.. anyway... i DO NOT RECOMMEND buying from them.. 3 times friends order , 3 times they mix it up... first , they sent wrong cap ,on second order they forgot wp adapter and then send the old model wp for a new vapor cap.. , 3rd order ... they forgot the 14 to 18 adapter for the wp adapter and now this...

Sorry for your loss pal.

wood is a living material. Nothing to fear and no one to blame. storage condition would be implicated if there were some sun and heat onto woods.

To avoid any second thought about retailers, always order directly from a manufacturer, when possible.

Well thx ! But i still think it is not my fault... but someone else's Maybe verdampftnochmal.de had stored it bad... , and also it might have been years old.. which made the wood extra dry.. Anyway... since my is the first cracked on its own.. i ever heard about... i decided to post.. Sry for the crappy quality.

That couldn't be a very old model, it has a stir stick. Did V1 have that? Sux that it split, hope something can be worked out for you.

*also couldn't help notice the different inner ring where the bowl connects looks different than my model. Mine has an outer lip that covers the wood, yours looks fully inserted, with no lip. Not sure what my point is other than noticing the difference, and hoping you were sold a genuine lotus.

@samirfuzzywuzzy,
how did you remove the steel part and is there a big difference with/without the o-ring?

You have to pry the metal ring out with a dowel and a utility razor. You must be very careful....I did not care if I had to replace my vapor cap since I consider it "cheap".

It is awesome with the Pvhe turbo gong. It also has a much finer screen now. The o-ring makes the seal, with out it you do not get much of any thing at all. I like my mod a lot since I only use my lotus on glass pieces and the gong is a lot better then the stock metal WPA.

Looks like a later V1 model. The stick came as an option and the inner ring extended farther up the cap. The bottom plate also had a hole in the center.

That should be a warranty issue. You paid 120 bucks for a piece of wood and a couple pieces of metal. I'm sure they will take care of you, if not that's bad juju. MFLB cost about the same and they would get you a new box out right away.

No way he should have to do that. It is a defect in the wood and should be covered.

Why don't you give ol' @Max Jitter a call about that? ;) I don't see why it can't be covered by the warranty…

I don't see how the glass GonG stem is better than the SS one but kudos for the mod… Never know when someone might need to so such a mod.

:D.. Always wondered how warranty works for vapes , who covers it , the retailer or the manufacturer , or both ? Honestly i am pissed off with the crappy service of Verdampftnochmal.de and the slow communication process so i rather deal with Max.. if it is possible.. if not i will probably send a negative bomb.. and mention them as not being correct anytime i remember my experience with them..
Was a sunny day here in Bulgaria.. :)
Cheers from me and my faithful UD !

Wow.. My initial impression was, cool, nice tool, a little painful on my lungs but great, ill get used to it...

After a day of practice... Dude. I have not used my Evo in 3 days, not smoked, no joints, no dabs nothing. This is just too handy. Sitting right at my desk ready to rock any instant. Cray Zay. I know I'm still in the glowing period, we will see what is used the most in time.

Can't wait for my custom Colie j-hook...

I feel like this much of the time, the only trump I've found is when I just don't want to have to pay so close attention to heat/flame ect... so thats when my other devices take over and get back into rotation. Otherwise, I am often grabbing for the Lotus.

@ Abysmal Vapor: If you bought this within the last 3 years it is covered under the warranty. Send me a message thru our website and we'll discuss the details.
Thanks Max ! More like 3 months ago, far less than 3 years for sure. I will shoot you an e-mail once i get off work !
Btw i have two friends owning latest lotuses as their first vape and they are more than happy, i rarely hear from them, they seem to be stoned 24/7 :) ! One of them is bringing it around our mountains and says he has no problems with it even at -15 C :) ! I have feeling that it will last them many years cause i see very little wear and tear from 10-15/daily uses as far as i know their habits :) , thats why i am so shocked my cracked on its own :)..
Cheers ! Will hit a heavy loaded vapo-bowl with abv oil and blue lotus extract.. :D
