I have this on with some evo vapes this morning. Perfect for finding a peaceful meditation.

The evo is just a awesome product.

I have yet to dial it past 2 o clock on the dial, yet im getting big clouds of vape, and yet the abv is not much more than a light even golden brown. I know i could pump up the temperature even more and get some insane clouds, but i am finding the lighter loads to be more my style.

You know what I wish? I wish there were different types of ELBs. Not sure how they could be constructed, but would be awesome to have a bigger one, a smaller one, maybe one maybe of glass (that would be amazing not sure if it's even possible).

Anyhow, that's just me dreaming.

It's not a dream, it's a reality, everybody here is guessing the same but for concentrates IMO.
If you want a bigger load, EQ bowl works wonders and it takes a huge load that needs some stirring and bigger lungs. I'll post a photo or video later.
If you search here you'll find videos and detailed instructions...
Stay vaped...

...where'd you get?
It's an OEM power cord for a Brother laser printer- not easy to find, but even some of the round cords for computers/printers are slightly smaller/more flexible than the one that comes with the EVO.

Check out monoprice on ebay or monoprice.com for replacement cords. Many options.

Almost 2 weeks with the EVO and I can definitely say that I prefer it to the ticker. Both function comparably results wise but the EVO really is the next generation. This is my totally unscientific observation:

OG Cloud relied a good deal on thermal retention which required a heavier unit with a bunch of insulation inside of it. I would always let it warm up 20-30 minutes before use. Once warmed up it didn't change temps very quickly due to the thermal retention.

EVO seems to work off the much more powerful heater and expels heat instead of the retention thing. I give it 10 minutes at noon and it is ready to rock.

Here is my favorite thing about it so far....I can start at 12 for flavor hits and then turn it up to 2 or 3 for full extraction. Going from 12 to 2 or 3 takes a couple of minutes and when the light goes green it is truly up there temp wise. Being able to quickly ramp up the temp with distinct flavors and effects at each level is freaking awesome!

Thanks VXL team!

I don't think I have every been happier with a product than the EVO.

That's how mine arrived. Out of the box, the force needed to remove an ELB from the glass joint is more force than it takes to lift the Evo off the ground by the GonG as you slide metal against glass. It's only a little bit less than the maximum amount of force I would feel safe applying to the top of the unit. After a week of daily use, it only got a little bit stickier and tighter of a fit.

I'm optimistic a GonG alcohol cleaning and eventual reshaping from frequent use will help, but I think I'm going to just buy 8 more ELB's, and out of 10 I should have better odds.

After an iso cleaning and drying out of joint and ELB's, put an ELB in the joint w/o the cap and leave it for a good while - like several days (except of course when using the other for a session). With the OG, this "training" was suggested but with a caution not to stress the Cloud joint too much, hence also the suggestion of using an 18/19mm adapter instead. Unfortunately, adapters ID's are not precisely consistent and so it's possible to get one that is a bit large or small for this purpose. If you have a LHS, you can take your ELB in and possibly try out adapters to find a good fit. I found that my Arizer Extreme-Q's glass elbow worked perfectly.

The EVO is so light that it isn't difficult to lift it by the top of an inserted ELB. Some of my OG ELB's are snug enough to do this, but they're not a struggle to remove. I would buy a pack of extra ELB's anyway, handy to have. You might also consider a little $4 tool called the "Epik" which removes the ELB nicely.

Finally, a Support Ticket wouldn't hurt. Maybe VXL has some updated suggestions.

...thanks guys ...yeah,I would like a longer cord...had mine less than a week so still playing around...yeah going fron 12 to 2 for flowers has been my experience so far too....so sweet...

This cord is an inexpensive 18/3 that several have posted positive reviews for, and it's 15', too.

Benson didnt do a good job of showing how this vape is supposed to work, he just uses it clumsily and then kinda says its not working.

Those dudes only inhale for 2 seconds expecting clouds of smoke haha,

Then replace it. I put a flat cord on mine. It's much more flexible but still the proper gauge.

Yup, I also use a harvested power cord like max did, because i knew i had it around.

However if you are not like me and don't have closets packed full with random tech junk just go on eBay or anywhere and look for a flat IEC C13 cable, that is what you want

I wasn't able to get wax to work with the miniELB in my Evo but today I tried some wax at the bottom of a regular ELB and it worked beautifully. It looks like being a tiny bit closer to the heat was all it needed. :)

I have been doing a lot at 9 on the dial... and, if I have > 1/4 of an ELB, it browns after about 6 hits. Still getting very wispy vapor, and great taste, but it will brown. If I am using < 1/4 ELB, it doesn't brown. It stays straw - like yellowish even if I am hitting at 3+

I believe it is how much of the herb is in contact with the SS ELB surface (metal) during the hit. That basket gets HOT, but cools quickly. A very small pinch of herb is ENTIRELY whirling in the ELB during the hit - none is "resting" against the metal. No conduction-browning.

More experiments are needed.

Seriously!! Mine seems to be getting stronger over time.. (is that possible?) I use it max dial setting, with many different strains. When I first got it, it would be just as you described. Now I am easily getting the ABV to the darker brown, and its all even. I do not understand how this changed, but it has.

I'm really enjoying the Evo.

Even so, however, I think I need to send my Evo in (again). It's running too cold for me. To get the results in the video above, the Evo has to be running on max for around 40 mins to 60 mins (it was on for hours in the above video and was very, very hot to the touch) and has to be hit at max. I can't get super thick white vapor like that unless it's on max. I also can't really use the Evo until it's been on for a while, and it has to be super hot to the touch. I can't turn the unit on, wait 10-15 minutes and then vape away. The clouds aren't thick and the abv is a light brown, even at max. I am extremely satisfied with the vapor taste and output, however, having to run the unit for 30-40+ minutes and having to use it on absolute maximum really sets me back. I'd love to be able to use at least half of the dial, rather than one mark on the dial. I would also love the ability to take my flowers/concentrates higher. I can't get coffee grind colored ABV.

Maximum temperature, on my dial, after a 10-15 minute warm-up, is pretty similar to around 11:00-11:15 in my OG. When it's fully warmed (on for at least 40 minutes) max on the dial is closer to 1:30 -2:30 on my OG. I know the dials are different and you shouldn't compare the two - but that doesn't seem right.

I have also been using a flat cord that I found in my junk drawer. I love it! Even the Newegg cord I bought could move the Evo if nudged. The flat cord (it's still kinda folded over on itself like it was when packed with a twist tie) doesn't move the Evo around and it's a lot shorter which serves my setup well. It'll also be easier to take with me when I take it on a trip.

I need to look through my cord box before I order anything :freak:

I must say that largely in thanks to this forum, I have some truly amazing vaporizers to choose from now. And when @stonemonkey55 reached out to offer me a firmware update, I thought that it was wishful thinking on his part that the evo would become my "most reached for vaporizer". He did this while acknowledging that I had some excellent choices at my disposal. Well after the fw update and some refinement of technique, I am quite happy to say that his confidence was not only fully deserved, but what's more I'm starting to understand the rabid, seemingly sycophantic and somewhat cult-like fanbase

So while some of my other plug-in choices don't exactly take a back seat to any vaporizer in certain areas, even my combusting friends agree that when you want a true boot to the head,
...nothing quite compares to hitching a ride on a big fluffy cloud!

If you don't mind me derailing the thread. I know you are a SSV fan but what are your other favorite/"first choice" vapes?

Glad to see you're becoming one of us ;)

I still love the ssv's, in fact I kind of miss them lately since I went temporarily insane and got a herbalizer to compliment my evo, already had a sublimator le kit.
It's a 1st-world vas problem to be sure, but I need to thin the herd at some point !

....1st weekend with the evo...barely left the ___ house...my unit is now producing vapor that is as "dark"..or "brown" as my ticker at 2-2:20....I'm finding that the condition/cleanliness of the elb is more of a factor in my vapor experience than the evo...what I mean is ...a clean elb produces a "better" result in the evo than the ticker...conversely it appears that any defect/or not properly maintained elb will not render as positive a experience...at least this is what I've observed so far...or maybe I'm too f___-up...

No, I completely agree. I had an ELB that had a dent in it. I threw it away. Seems like the aerodynamics were all thrown off. Could not get much vapor out of it. Was interesting. Or maybe I'm too f____-up too :-). But I did throw it away.

.....that happened to me when I used one of my old elb's....works fine on ticker...not too good on evo...replaced it with the 2nd that came with the evo...everything was cool again....didn't "throw it out" though...;)
