So much Glass! Can't decide!

Hey all! your favorite katana wielding compatriot here. Now that I have snapped out of the zombie-like trance that was my combustion habbit, I realized my sole glass piece is woefully inadequate to my new lifestyle. I have had my game set in stone for so long, I'm completely out of the glass world. Was a Roor guy for years, and currently rock a 19" sheldon black beaker bottom with a a jumbo 6 tree downstem.

Now the airflow is fantastic, however I find it much more suitable for smoking flowers. Whenever using a Ti Nail or a gong attachment, I find their is just too much volume. I can clear a big hit, but just barely. I almost always have to blow out the stale smoke after my girlfriend or someone else hits it.

I have been reading around the forum, and the david goldstein fritted disk, and mobius stereo matrix both caught my eye. However, without being able to compare side by side I'm completely unsure if these are even the right choices.

So to the glass connoisseurs, what do you think? What will provide me the ultimate compromise of volume, diffusion, taste, and airflow?

P.S. Hopefully we can keep this under $500. Thanks in advance!

The mobius is a pretty good choice. I've had a fritted disk before; very smooth but I wasn't a huge fan of it. I'd also look at vertigo, SYN, MGW, Dirty Rico. Any non-beaker tube under 14" should work fine.

Personally, I'd stay away from high diffusion pieces for oil because they clog very quickly and you lose some taste.

Those where the exact two that made me

Ended up going with the Mobius Matrix because it was in stock and I prefer the form factor of a dewaar + bubbler over a tube.

The Mobius Ion or something of that size sounds just right for you. Not overly big but enough to see the vapors.

Diffusion is always a personal choice. Even then you change your mind over time or mood.

Smooth sailing while I'm inhaling... VAPOR
I have a Mobius matrix clear bubbler which I lovingly use everyday. I agree with tweak^^ on the dewar form factor. I have hit a 60mm stereo matrix many times and honestly prefer my bubbler a lot, especially for vaping.

The thing I have found about the DG is some people can either love the way it pulls or hate it. I have never heard of anyone not loving the matrix. just my 2 cents but I think you would prefer a Mobius judging by your description.

Thanks all, yea was leaning towards Mobius. After hearing your opinions I think I'll end up going that route. Might end up actually getting two pieces. Perhaps a stereo matrix for vaping flowers and a smaller bubbler for oil.
You don't need to spend big money for quality glass. There's a lot of great "no-name" glass out there.

You won't be disappointed with the Mobius, excellent build quality and great diffusion. I enjoyed the novelty of my frit but I didn't frequent it because I felt like there was too much diffusion.

Have you visited this thread yet?

Dude, its a never ending rabbit hole. You're just making this harder on him!

Also OP, I think the stereo matrix is too much diffusion for vaping (but what do I know?). Maybe a single matrix or even a retei perc would be better?

If it helps, the next piece I get is going to be a Mob Ion Matrix.

I love my stereo matrix for vaping flowers but it's a little big for dabs. Honestly you might be better suited splitting your budget up between a nice piece for flowers and an oil rig instead of 1 really nice piece.

Thanks, yes, I think I will end up going that route. I just found out there's a nice shop with all the big brand names about 30 mins from me, so I think I'm gonna make a trip this weekend to see them in person.

I checked out the recycler thread, I guess I just don't understand them. I gather the point is more water contact with not a lot of diffusion/glass contact? Not sure I am sold on it.
