Which vape is best for me?!

Okay, so I've been researching basically non-stop for the last few days and at this point I've determined that these few brands (MFLB, Solo, Buddha, Pax,and a few others I can't recall atm) are the most popular portable vapes out there right now. And thats fine, but I can not for the life of me seem to find one that suits me best. At first I was considering just blindly getting the MFLB since its major popularity, but after looking into it I determined it probably wasn't for me. From what I see it doesn't really get you that high and it is also very hard to get into.. not really for me. I also don't like the battery part of it, it looks weird/clunky to me. Though I do really like its look and portability, and I could get into it, its just that I'd prefer not to if I had a better option. Not saying I wouldn't get it though, its still pretty viable to me.

Next is the Solo. After looking at it at first, I was generally sold. For ~$130 on Ebay, I was definitely sold, and for the most part still am. But something that is seriously concerning me about it now is the stem loosening. Can someone explain to me what that is about? I really don't want to get something that will just break lol. And I'm not really the best at fixing/repairing things, not to mention I don't want to have to keep ordering new parts for it online and wait for a week or two to get it and use it and everything. So if you guys can help explain the loosening to me then that'd be great.

As for the rest, well I haven't really even considered any others yet, because the MFLB and the Solo seem to suit me the best. Though, like I've said, I know nothing about vapes, so I'll just list what I would want from one. I would like a vape that can be used just for at home. Maybe chill with a buddy or two every once in a blue moon, but for the most part the vape will just be used to chill at home during the day. I'd like to get pretty medicated off of it, I'm not sure if all vape highs are the same but the stronger the high the better. As for stealth, like I've said its mostly going to be used inside, however, I'm currently living with my parents and I'd prefer they not know, so something that doesn't require too much set up and isn't too big would be great. Also, I really want something thats easy to use. For the most part this is all I can think of, if you have questions please go ahead and ask

Also, I'm not really willing to go over $150 unfortunately, I just don't make enough right now to be spending that much on a vape.

If this is to your sole vape for a while, then definitely the Solo. The portable that tries its best to perform like a desktop (and many use as their daily drivers).

Mine had the stem become loose after about a week of use. The installation of the o-ring was far easier than even I could imagine. Steps: Unscrew the top of the Solo, Insert glass stem, put O-ring on the stem about 1/4" past the edge. Then carefully put the lid of the Solo back on the unit using the glass stem to align. When starting to tighten the lid back up, check, then recheck, to make sure you're not cross-threaded. Then proceed to tighten as far as possible. Mine tightened to the point where it looks as it did prior to the O-ring install..Others state the O-ring left a gap. Some sanded down the O-ring a bit for better fit.

Either way, I've had the O-Ring installed for a while now and there's no sign of loosening yet.

Here's an awesome pictorial view of an O-Ring installation!

The loosening of the Solo's stem is NOT it "breaking" in any way shape or form. In fact I'm willing to bet Arizer keeps it this way on purpose for airflow purposes.

SOME people don't like this for personal reasons but its not because anything has stopped working.

Get the Lotus, it is perfect for you! It can be used quickly and put away quickly. You don't need a grinder if you don't want to. And if you get the kit, you also have a water piece adapter to use with a bong which is a great experience for the bigger sessions to knock you out.

I had a Solo and i don't miss it at all. If you don't need stealth which is the only thing that lacks in the Lotus, i would look no further than the Lotus! ;)

With this criteria I have to agree with @vorrange . The Lotus is perfect with the Solo a close second. As a converting smoker the Lotus is going to be the closest vape to conform to that smoking ritual. There are no chargers/stems etc to have to hide. The taste is fantastic and it's easy to use.

Regarding the MFLB. The only people who don't get very high off of it are the ones who never mastered the techniques. I and anyone else who has done this can blow massive clouds and get way stoned with the MFLB. Having said that, it is definitely not a beginners vape as you need knowledge of vaping basics before attempting to use it.

Good luck in your search.

Wow, you guys are good lol. This Lotus is looking really nice to me. I love the price, design, and just about everything about it. Probably gonna get this! :p any recommended attachments or anything to know about?

Yup, technique, not only on how to hit it, but battery care along with a very fine grind are paramount to getting the box to do what deadhead has stated above.

One of my favorite ways to use the Lotus nowadays i through my straight tube, without water. Tasty rips and you can see the vapor milk the glass before eating it up. mnham.

And after the tasty rips, i add water and do same more clouds. :)

Vapor can be dry and harsh and using a water pipe will significantly help both of those issues but you will lose some flavor that way also. Basically it is like comparing a small glass pipe to smoking out of a bong. It is much easier to take larger hits through water than it is dry. Some prefer it, myself included, while others find vapor doesn't really bother them abd prefer to get the full flavor profile.

Does it actually milk? I don't feel like a vapor would get enough.. vapor to make a difference, would it? It wouldn't really feel satisfying if it didn't fill up the water pipe like a real hit lol

What makes you think that vapor can't milk a bong? There are countless vids on youtube with all kinds of different vapes milking all kinds of different bubblers and bongs.

The lotus does all this with a bigger punch. ;)

idk haha, it just seems like its lighter / doesn't produce as much. idk really tbh lol

i haven't seen a vid til now though, that looks pretty nice tbh

Wait for the torch, how long does it last? The site said 20 uses, is that like 20 hits? Because that is a major turnoff to me.

My lighter lasts me two days but i usually leave it full after my last session of the day.

About the vapor thickness... it won't be as harsh as smoke but it will be harsh enough after a while, believe me. Plus, much of the thickness comes from burnt plant matter... with vapor its mostly cannabinoids in the vapor, much more pure.

Welcome to the club then mate! :D

Won't the lighter's clicking be loud enough for your parents to hear though?
Meh, probably, but after thinking about it I'd probably get caught anyway lol. Well it depends, how long does the smell stick around for and how strong is it? And how loud is the torch compared to a normal bic lighter because I can light one of those in my house with no problem lol

Either way its fine, I've been wanting to get a vaporizer for a while now purely because of the health benefits

Just put some music to be sure, but with the door closed i don't think it is hearable. The smell is as strong as how many visible clouds you exhale. Try to keep it in and rebreath just to be sure

As you get over the learning curve and combust/almost combust happens less often, the odor will be minimal. However to a non-smoker that smell is probably going to be obvious, but over come with just a little febreexe etc.
