Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

My ticker was retired to the shelf of honor. That is saying a lot. It has been used daily for 18+ months.

There are a bunch of vaporizers that "get the job done." My deal is "the experience" of the vape. My preference is thick, dense, high temp power hits -- milking a substantial glass piece with a quick carb for the shotgun. This is what turns me on in a vaporizer. My ticker Cloud + Cloud Buddy + an awesome bubbler = vaping bliss. It has provided the vape experience I love.

I have 2 EVOs from the IGG campaign shipped around 1/10. They were sent after VXL started to seriously ramp up output. This made me nervous but I think they nailed it with consistency, presentation, and most importantly function.

The weirdest thing is that the calibration on the EVOs is extremely close to my original ticker. 1 - 3 on the dial is the sweet spot for me. Functionally and experience wise the EVO is the same as my original ticker except for much faster heat up time. There really aren't any performance difference I notice after some fun experimentation.

I say a HUGE FUCKING SHOUTOUT TO THE VXL team!! Nothing makes me happier than knowing that you guys are going to spread the ultimate vape experience far and wide.

(I am such a cloud lover that I had moments of anxiety even thinking of being without one.)

The EB Bent Neck Hydratube is a beautiful piece of glass, but using it is literally like trying to suck pudding through a straw. It'll get ya there but you can't get the airflow fast enough to milk. Cloud buddy to the rescue.....

Happiest customer ever.

I have some good news!

On my 2nd attempt, I achieved vaporization of a decent sized dab with the EVO without using the two-cap method (which brings the concentrate closer to the heater)

  • I preheated the evo on max for 40 minutes
  • I sprinkled shatter crystals on the elb cap, covering it in a even layer
  • The ELB was only in the EVO for about 4 seconds before I started ripping it
  • Didn't do anything special with the airflow speed
  • The ELB was also very dirty from herb (airflow is highly reduced and holes are partially clogged)

No video but it white-walled my 17" stemline two times.

Is there any chance I could just send you guys $50 and shipping for a Swagger Barrel? 'Only had my EVO for a day so far but could always use more toys :D:D:D

I would like to do this too if this is an option! I need to order more ELBs anyway.

I've seen others posted but I think this is a good deal, $6 shipped for a 15ft cord for the EVO. It's from NewEgg on Ebay, just got mine and it's great; I feel like I have so much room for activities. :D

Like some of the others, it feels just as well made but it's light enough that it doesn't drag the EVO around.

Thanks Bruce, now I am 6 dollars poorer.

Received the glass mouthpiece & hydra-foot today.

For low-temp flavor-forward hits, the dry mouthpiece is ideal. If I'd have known about the barrel HT, I might have done that instead, and I would have been making a mistake.

I threw that cord in my amazon shopping cart, as the referred retailer does not ship to all 50 us states. If anybody has the same issue it's also .10 cheaper on amazon as well. The reviews said it's not a good cord for heavy loads, but it should be perfect(ly lightweight) for the evo. Just search the part #.

You can always use hydratubes dry too. I like using an empty hydratube more than the dry mouth piece because the extra mass of glass helps cool the vapor a little more.

The dry mouth piece is probably the most efficient though.

Cables2go, monoprice, they're all good.
I couldn't decide whether to get 6 or 10 feet,
and when I did a search without any brands I came up with an 8' hosa (they make pro audio/music cables):
http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-Cable-PWC148-Grounded-Straight/dp/B000068OA5/ref=sr_1_25?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1390628079&sr=1-25&keywords=18AWG 3 Prong Power Cord Cable
So now that's in my cart lol.

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10228&cs_id=1022801&p_id=5293&seq=1&format=2

These are mine.
Super overkill!!!
You can move the EVO around by the power cord

The cords fit way, way better than the stock one.
It goes in and out without a hitch but stays in securely.

HOLY CHRIST does this vape have me stoned :zzz::zzz:

I ordered the EVO with Circ glass on 11/23, and it arrived yesterday, exactly two months later. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm pretty new to cannabis. I've used it for a year, only at night before sleep, and only in a Pax, no experience with other vapes or consumption methods.

So I unpacked the box, filled the tube with water, loaded a ELB with the same 125mg (or so) of Ingrid I'd use in the Pax, let the EVO warm up, then tried a first hit. Huh. Am I even getting anything? Try again. OK, yeah, I'm tasting it, I'm still not sure how much I'm getting though. Tried turning it up from noon to 1:00. Now I'm definitely getting visible vapor, I see my exhalation and I'm tasting it more.

It occurs to me that I'm used to judging the amount I've taken by how annoyed my lungs have gotten breathing hot vapor, and that method won't work anymore. Which is a good thing!

I still don't really know how much I've gotten. It doesn't really seem like I'm getting much, but I don't know. I take several more hits - keep in mind, my lung capacity isn't much, so this is less than you might think - and then shrug and put the EVO away and get up to go brush my teeth. And promptly fall over. :)

I've had that kind of "oops, head rush, lying flat on my face in the hallway sounds really good right now" reaction from Ingrid before, but only the first couple of times I used it. It's not that I enjoy falling over, but in lesser degrees it's more "feeling pressed down, want to lie still" which is useful in getting to sleep, which is why I keep coming back to Ingrid from other indicas. It was very odd to get hit that hard by it again, using the same amount of bud I've been using near-daily for months.

I did eventually manage to get my teeth brushed, and myself (mostly) undressed and in bed. (Removing my shirt seemed unnecessary and far, far too complicated to be worth it.) And man, while I was very firmly pinned to the bed, my mind was wandering wildly all over the place with colorful images and free-associating ideas. Again, not an unusual reaction, but much STRONGER than I've experienced at any point since the first week or two I used pot. I fell asleep within about 20 minutes, but those were 20 interesting minutes.

Final verdict will require further testing - EXTENSIVE further testing :) - but I'm liking this thing so far.

Great day, though the FedEx guy never came yesterday as promised. Literally waiting by the door at the exact time they listed on the tracking

My patience was rewarded today (having it shipped to a local Fedex office) and I'm now officially part of the vapexhale family! 9'oclock dialed for density.

Almost there...
Was there some discussion about an included HT stand with the EVO?
I seem to remember reading about one being included for IGG supporters?

You'll get far, far better results putting less in the ELB. A Pax load is waaaaaay too much for any Cloud, the old or the EVO. As many have pointed out, 1/4 of the ELB is plenty, and many of us use just a pinch and get massive clouds. At the same time, strain does make a difference in the amount of visible vapor. For instance I love Blue Dream, but it creates less visible vapor than 3 Kings or Jack Herer. Still gets me vaped.

the code 'GETDOUG' supposedly gets you 60 bucks in elbs for free at checkout.....
im bummed i watched his video about 40 seconds after ordering the evo....missed out on some free elbs...hook it up sm!!??!!

EDIT: I tried the code at checkout when i just went to order more elbs and it didnt work, perhaps it only works when a evo is in the cart?

I have noticed this as well. Strains make a huge difference in clouds. I have some blue berry that I could get great clouds at 10am even. But I have some blue dream that I have to turn up to noon no matter what. Oh and I saw that someone said they noticed their EVO was making some clicking noises. Mine is doing this as well. I have been watching the bamboo everytime so I'll keep an eye on it. But it seems to do it when it's cooling down or when it has been turned on from a completely cold start.

First, most of you probably know my long history with Vapexhale. I've had a number of Clouds pass away and it has been quite a journey.

I loved my OG ticker I got back in Aug 2012. Was a great machine but I don't think it lasted very long, Oct. Anyhow, I had one of the first Cloud+'s. It was also amazing. Loved it. Sadly, my Cloud+ died and I was offered the Cloud EVO if I wanted to trade in my Cloud+ like the Indiegogo campaign.

I took the Cloud+ leap of faith, and now I took the Cloud EVO leap of faith. And boy am I glad I did :-).

Let me explain something. When I first got the OG ticker, it came in a brown box in bubble wrap. Not the best for a $500 dollar product but who cares, it worked. Also, the OG model looked like it came out of someone's garage or something. It was crude. I was always worried about the thinness at the top of the bamboo. The Cloud EVO comes in a "retail box", and there is no bubble wrap. The EVO covers the entire bamboo except the joint. I LOVE that. The unit is very light and doesn't seem as fragile. I'm undecided about the light weight because I feel like the cord can pull it off the table.

Ok let's get to the important part. I've been using the E-Nano as a backup. I love my E-nano but it requires a certain technique on how to get awesome results and it's variable for me. I love that unit though. It's great. However, the Cloud EVO is now the king again in my line up. Holy schnikes this thing knocks my socks off. At first I had a little trouble with extraction. I used to use my Cloud+ at 1 o'clock. I feel like 3 is the best position for me. I like that high temperature vaporization.

Anyhow, it's a knockout. I get a bunch of hits out of my Hydratube from using .1. Everything is evenly browned. Stir once. I take out the ELB after every hit. Just always did that. Man this thing produces smooth smooth thick thick vapor. I almost didn't believe it wasn't smoke but there was no combustion. I swear. It was incredible. Never could I milk a tube like that with the E-Nano.

I feel like I need to keep it on 3 o'clock which is higher than my previous units however I never change temperatures so that appears to be the sweet spot for me.

Also with the ELBs that the unit came with (I only tried one) I thought it looked bigger but it just fit into the bamboo. With that ELB I had the loud whistle and very wispy vapor. I have about 14 ELBs or so. So I tried two of the harder to insert ELBs and there was no whistle. Just a nice clean pulling sound.

Anyhow, to summarize, loving the Cloud EVO. Was worried about the comments in this thread that the air path is different, etc. but in my opinion this unit completely blows the previous model out of the water. What an amazing machine.

I'll say one thing about VapeXhale, the company. In the past, I haven't always been too happy with their customer service. But it seems that they are working on it. Definitely. One tip for you guys, try to get your spelling checked. It's very unprofessional to have misspellings in corporate dealings with invoices, emails, etc.

Ok I think that's all for now, LOL! One quick question:

Question: do you keep unplugging the cord from the unit? Is it safe to keep doing that? I feel like it's fragile and I'll break it if I keep doing it. Is there a technique so I don't harm the unit? I need to disconnect cord in order to put it away

Just put my order in for the Evo.

Even though i pre ordered in November I never got an email, so i figured just buying one off the site would work just as good.

Im excited to get my evo and the Barrel

next time i post in here it will hopefully be a review of the Evo.

cheers

Just a suggestion . . . I would submit a Support Ticket explaining what you've done. While rare, there have been occasions where an Order/Ticket has fallen through the cracks. I presume you don't want that November order to also show up now.

Glad to have you back @newVaper420. Your voice has been missed. :)

Yea, the plug is overly tight (and VXL knows that). Probably not so much that it will break the unit, but who needs the grief? There are several inexpensive replacement cables posted a couple pages back. I would just kick for one of those and be done with it.

You can always use hydratubes dry too. I like using an empty hydratube more than the dry mouth piece because the extra mass of glass helps cool the vapor a little more.

The dry mouth piece is probably the most efficient though.
I had used the HT dry (I have a bubbler that I used dry, too), but that does nothing to prevent resin deposits. I don't want the HT to have a haze in it, or worse yet, visible deposits.
It is also a very large "can" for me to have to clear - not a problem with water in it, and a higher-temp load, where I'm just hitting it once, but for lower temps, dry, sipping on the herb, that volume of air is just too much.

I am greatly anticipating the concentrates accessory. :)
