Turn it upside down when you clean that part out. Will prevent anything from dripping down into those holes.
You beat me to that one. The battery mistery is over once and for all.

"I have received confirmation that the Firefly batteries are Lithium-ion. Our IT Department has corrected the information on our webpage to reflect this."

"My Technical Specialist has informed me that Lithium-ion batteries have better energy density than Lithium-polymer. This is the most common type of battery in mobile devices and the energy density made it the most attractive fit for the Firefly. Lithium-polymer batteries can be made thinner, and may not degrade as quickly but have less energy. In regards to the charger stating Lithium-polymer on it, I have notified my supervisor of this and we are contacting manufacturing immediately. We can confirm that the charger is for Lithium-ion and there was a typo on the laser etching of the charger plates. This will be corrected. I am very sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused. I truly appreciate your understanding and bringing this to our attention. Please let me know if you have any questions!"

I don't think anyone has posted a video yet, so.... here's a little cloud action for ya from ol' Firefly. Just for shits and giggs.

I'm hitting it longer than I normally would.

I start preheating at the 14 second mark. At the 30 second mark in the video is when I let go of the heat button, but that doesn't become clear until about 38 seconds into the video when you can see the solid green light. The light flashes when the heater is engaged.

Very nice! Mine automatically shuts off the heat at about 30 seconds.

Just for fun.

Sure is fun to use in the dark... :smug:
I see you own an Ascent, what's the verdict between these devices. I almost bought the Ascent before finding FC then finding this Family and Friends discount for the Firefly's premium package sold me. I have the second gen Davinci which works but no comparing the flavor of the Firefly.

Yeah, these seem like the most high profile of the new flower-friendly ports. Maybe the PnP and Pax would be in there as well.

Generally, I'm the type of user who likes to take just one hit about every 15-20 min or so, if possible. So that makes the Firefly just perfect for me since, as you know, I can just get that one hit and not heat any herb I won't be using ya know? For personal use, for flowers, the Firefly is just divine. When I'm hitting it normally, I'm getting the perfect hit - enough vapor to confirm that I definitely got a good amount in my lungs, but not so much exhaled vapor to be wasteful. If you have enough privacy to use a smokebuddy, the amount of smell is really stealthy.

The Ascent warms up really fast, so that's not an issue there. But knowing that I'm using its battery to get it going when I just want one hit makes me think the battery won't last long (love knowing that I can replace the FF battery!), so I end up taking two hits and then turning it off and taking a third just so product isn't going to waste as the Ascent cools down (takes a while) and that the battery power was worth it. At that point, I am usually more medicated than I need to be with plenty of smell all around me. It's a stinky one, in my opinion. If I use it in my car, man do people know it. Just the device laying around after it's heated your herb once is stinky. The Firefly does not have that problem.

When I keep the Firefly in my bag and then open up its compartment after an hour or so, there is barely a smell. There is smell, but not enough for anyone around me to notice. When I did the same with the Ascent, the smell just came FLOODING out even worse than an MFLB that has tons of resin built up in it.

However, the Ascent does work great when you just want to pack it up, not use any technique, and just keep toking really simple-like. It's great around the house. I've had great success passing the Ascent around with friends who don't vape and they've done quite well. I also prefer to use the Ascent when driving, as using the FF while driving is NOT stealthy, that's for sure.

I also get more even burning with the Ascent. I have never seen ABV as uniform as after it's been through there at 430. It's gorgeous, the ABV. I LOVE using the Ascent with water. Its taste is even better than the FF, I think.

Plus, you can use it while charging. That's nice. And its battery life is great. If I were to go hiking for the day, I could just pack the Ascent full and it would be all I'd need. With the FF, I'd need an extra batt or two and extra herbs.

After using the Ascent, I usually feel STONED no matter the temp. After using the FF, I feel HIGH, but I can get the STONED feeling if I want to.

So, I think the Ascent really shines as a session vape with water, as it's meant to, but its smell really prevents it from being stealthy out in public.

The problem with the FF as a portable is that it's so expensive and beautiful I don't like it leaving the house! It actually makes the beautiful Ascent look a little clunky and outdated. Damn, it is pricey though, once you add on extra batts and the external charger...

The FF does take some technique, maybe a little more than the Ascent?

Will post more as I think of it. If anyone has a specific question, just ask.

THANKS! That's just the one detail I have been waiting for to purchase. Did not want to miss out on any possible upcoming upgraded battery.

Just talked to the now famous Sarah C about paying with PAYPAL, getting the premium package discount deal and the free Fedex shipping to Puerto Rico. Sweet!

Wow, this people are truly committed to customer satisfaction as has been posted here so often!
Will try to keep the FF more for home and Pinacle Pro for outdoors. My appreciation to all who share vital info and opinions.

Now I have to save up some duckets and buy on of those too. Sell my Davinci and the Pax then I'll be cooking without fire. Thank you so much for your reply as it saves me time and money. Don't ya just love the internet? Thanks to you FuckCombustion!

I have an original DV as well and like having it as a backup or if I'm just running some quick errands and don't need anything fancy with me. It may not be the prettiest or tastiest or most convenient but it has never failed me! A handy unit to have around and mine has proven very durable.

I think having the Ascent really rounds out vaporizer needs. The combo of Firefly/Ascent sure is a nice one. It can definitely be used in ways the Firefly can't and I think it's worth the price tag. Plenty disagree though! I'm on my third unit, as well. Wouldn't be surprised if I end up sending this one in too. We'll see.

Anyway. God, I am loving this FF. I just wish its mouthpiece were retractable!

so i'm sitting at my desk with my PD log vape. and she's always warm and ready to go. nylon tubing to puff thru. big milky exhale. can go thru water and ice if i like. no muss no fuss. remind me why i should give the FF another try? i'm trying to remember why i dropped $299. hmm...

here's what bugs me about the FF after only maybe six sessions. the ground herb mucking up the air flow. huh? wha? what am i doing wrong? i've loaded very small loads, covered with a screen. i'm having to clear my mouth from salad sucking thru. 1. why is the process so messy and b. help? what can i do so i don't loathe my FF experience?

Are you saying that when you draw, plant matter is going into your mouth? Seems like defect, no? Has anyone else had this problem?

On another note, my delivery date moved up a day, Monday it is! The wait is almost over...

I have not gotten any debris in my mouth when I inhale through the device. I do a fairly fine grind on my material.. there should be a picture of it a couple pages back. I don't use a screen on top of the material. I do a medium strength inhalation through the device. I tend to load my device pretty full. I don't do any preheating.

How are you playing the screen?
How fast are you drawing?

i'm just setting the screen on top of my load. i've had some success limiting the debris. still strikes me as akward and cumbersome if i'm on the go with it. you don't have to brush a ton of debris out of your top magnet piece by the lil window? that's your air flow. why do i have a device that's designed so every time you use it the air flow gets clogged up? i don't get it.

If you're getting stuff in your mouth you are definitely pulling too hard. You should be pulling slowly, try envisioning that you are pulling the air thru and over the herb. If you pull too hard the heated air will not have enough time to heat the herb. Try using the muscles in your mouth to pull the air thru, that's about how fast / strong you should be pulling. Once you see how that works, you should be able to inhale normally using the same amount of "power"

Use a medium grind. Draw evenly. Don't draw faster than the natural flow of the air vents allow. Don't fill up the bowl with ground material and then put it in your pocket without re-compacting it. KEEP THE DEVICE LEVEL when you use it.

Yes, you will get some debris around the window, in the latter stages of a bowl, as it gets drier and more naturally finely ground. This is where you draw even more carefully. I have on occasion gotten material in my mouth, always my fault for drawing too hard or suddenly.

There's a learning curve. There isn't inherent design flaw...it's not designed to clog the airflow. It has one of the most elegant and clean draws of any vape you can use, but you have to use it correctly. (You shouldn't even really need the top screen once you get your technique and draw down pat...most FF users don't use one from the feedback so far.)

Hey folks, I'm thinking about grabbing one of these at a lhs. I'm wondering if high temp vaping is being achieved? Also, if it gets hot enough to vape bubble?
This thing just sounds to good to be true.
Edit: I've read this entire thread, and only seen these touched on a couple times. Full spectrum vaping is important me.

Hey steama, did you get your feelings hurt? I bought a firefly and I think it sucks. I don't get why you're so upset. And you used banal improperly.
