You cannot beat that with a stick! Good until 12/2/2013 according to the e-mail!

That is a great price, I ordered my third WISPR
Thx bro,

I got my 3rd official WISPR 2 that arrived from Ireland to my door step one day after Thanksgiving on Friday. I also received my 3rd replacement for my first WISPR in the form of a brand new WISPR 2 (in bubble wrap, not new in box).

Now I have three, functioning units, WISPR 1, WISPR 2, WISPR 2.

Now, onto my WISPR 2 impressions.
First, the butane fill level went back to a crystal clear view. Very nice and much more useful. Operates ever so slightly quieter than my late model WISPR 1.

Loaded up a new chamber and went to town. The intervals for heating and cycling seem normal, the warmer temperature is immediately felt and the results are a much more improved vape. The ABV changed color. (ABV > ABV) There is a very easy-to-detect change to the flavor that tells you "this is now done" in a less subtle manner which I rather enjoy. I have been using only Colibri butane in all my WISPR 2 units and I switched a month ago on my old WISPR 1. The operation has been better and the slight odor and taste is virtually gone.

There are a few small design changes that can be seen from the outside. The small vent below the "lit chamber indicator" seems to help a lot with ignition, operation, and general cooling of the unit. I hope it works longer and gives myself and plenty of other happy Iolite WISPR users for a while.

Any questions, let me know, boys and girls. I am very impressed and happy with the upgraded units.

I have been a fan of the Iolite family of vapes from the very first I-Inhale, the name they first used for an Iolite. I love them. I, too, have 2 Iolites, and Wispr 1 & 2.

I was pulled over this Fall while using a Wispr: the officer stood at the passenger-side open window, sniffed, and asked if I'd been smoking marijuana, and I truthfully answered, "No". He took another sniff of my car interior and said, "I guess not. Its a different smell." He took my license and registration, I guess, to see if I was wanted, and then he told me to go, and speed by him nevermore.

I was glad I was wearing Depends.

The third replacement of my green WISPR now 2 has failed. :(

It leaks internally into the ignition chamber and will not hold a fill more than 20 minutes, tops.

I am out of my warranty period and less than 60 days into this WISPR 2 and I am rather saddened by this. I had a small increase in the amount of butane the thing was using and really warmer than normal temps at the beginning which faded off quickly leading to a fast vape, way too fast. Only a few days to a week tops, kaput.

Overall, third replacement for this model and fifth replacement needed.

I bought a third black, WISPR 2 and use that on a daily basis. The blue WISPR 1 is no longer anywhere in the same league as far as performance from the WISPR 2 is gained.

Portability, no down time, and when it works, it works perfectly. My ABV is consistent and the WISPR 2 made vaping an even more enjoyable experience. It is easy to clean and maintain. Butane is cheap and recharges faster than any battery powered unit. It also does not leave wires hanging around if I were to switch to a wired, electric unit.

Also, I e-mailed Iolite about the very short jaunt I had with the new, replacement WISPR 2 and they informed me because the Green replacement WISPR 2 broke within 90 days, they will replace it, again, for free!

That is customer service!!!! That is priceless.

You guys want to know why I stick with this company is because each end-result (which should be most important) has made me happier than a pig rolling around in his own S#&T!

i loved the portability of the iolite/wispr, but, because of altitude, certain spots where i'd want to use it rendered useless. if i live back east i'm sure not an issue. and by back east i mean USA. so i'm sad to report i've left butane vapes for good i'm afraid. i do wish i was cord - battery free however.

I received an email from Ireland Oglesby and Butler stating my green replacement WISPR 2 was sent out on the 5th of February. Still awaiting its arrival.

Oh and the new black WISPR 2 is working, but working very strangely. Already received another RMA confirmation for that unit and it will go back out whenever I get the green replacement back.

Blue WISPR 1 still works, I dislike using it because the lower temperature setting.

Customer service is working, but shipping costs are beginning to stack up and become quite a nuisance. I wish it was a bit more reliable. I see why so many folks have moved on, I just do not want to at this point.

I really want to add one of these units to my collection as the "ultimate backup to all of my charger vapes".

I can buy an Iolite or a WISPR 1 from my LHS. Should I pick up a WISPR 1 or order a WISPR 2 online?

Is the 2 really that much better than the 1?

Also, is the Iolite the precursor to the WISPR? Are they totally different? I looked into these things briefly and it appears the models are (in order of when they were made) Iolite -> WISPR -> WISPR2

Am I best off buying the latest and greatest or will a cheaper WISPR1/Iolite suffice?

There is lover for all but yes wispr2 is the final improvement in ease of use and higher extracting (210°C).

I find unloading more simple with the wispr2 than OG iolite.

Decided I need this.

Vaping anywhere without the need of a charger?

This is totally for me. I run through 6 MFLB batteries within 12-16 hours on a crazy day. Normally I burn through 4.

Will post what I think about the WISPR2 when it comes in next week.

I also got a free can of butane from the site I ordered it from.

Iolite has their own butane? Should I trust it...lolololol

@SirDarkened Did you try to Q-tip the trench of your mflb as a drop of efficiency is a sign of gooed rods and poor electrical contact?

I keep it very clean actually. It works great. Eventually I know I'll need a replacement. (Using it drunk has um caused some combustion on more than one occassion)

I cannot edit my post so I'm just going to post my first impressions in this one.

Finally got my WISPR2 in the mail today ;).

Stoked to try it out found it takes around .25 per pack. Not bad. we had 4 packs between a friend and I.

The butane lasts so long! It still isn't out done after those 4 sessions.

I love the look of it. The added ability to see how full it is with butane is nice.

Mouthpiece gave it a bit of a plasticy taste for the first few sessions. Sort of went away? Will not be able to use it for another month or so but I am more than sure after many uses the taste will go away.

The bowl gets HOT after use but the rubber doesn't allowing you to pack many in a row (it was 19 degrees outside the bowl cooled pretty fast).

Its really nice for 2 people. I'm not sure about groups but it totally knocked us out.

It turned on after the first click each time. Kind of awesome. Heats up REALLY fast. Didn't even realize it was done!

Big con is the butane smell at first but I don't find that so horrible.

Its not THAT loud but yeah. It makes noise. Not stealthy because of it.

Stealth in looks but once you're using it don't expect to use it in quiet public places.

Cleaning and packing are really easy. To pack you can use the solo stem inhale method but if it is an ultra fine grind expect a little piece or two in your mouth.

Clean the bowl with Qtip and ISO. Same for metal bowl in mouthpiece. Takes maybe a minute or two.

I haven't found the unit to run hot but then again we used it in freezing temperatures and boy did it preform!

Was pleased with the ABV color after use. Not an ultra dark brown. Just a light brown.

Overall, love this thing.

No issues thus far but I'm only one day in. Will see about taste going away after many uses.

The ultimate backup vape in my opinion. Might not be my primary go to but it will always be used as my other vapes always are dead :/ forgetting to charge the batteries is gone with this!

Will highly recommend the WISPR2 to anyone who doesn't mind butane and is in need of a vape you can load up anywhere anytime and use without having to be stuck to an outlet.

If there was a power outage the WISPR2 would last as long as you had butane so theoretically if you bought 100 cans of butane that would probably last you for life with this thing.

Main reason I cant put the wispr down. No worry of combustion.

Roomie just got the wispr 2 so I have been comparing it to the original. It's heat up time is quicker. He doesn't quite rock out as hard on the herb so can't compare sessions or butane length, but over all everything has been positive. This vape just has no learning curve or attention requirement.:)

I tried using a Vaporfection ViVape 2 and hated it. I did not even let it turn off after the automatic cooling down period before I started vaping my WISPR 2!

A new, black replacement WISPR 2 is on its way soon!

@Viprdude while my WISPR has a solid place in my line up of portable vapes and is always at the ready, You seem to be rather dedicated to your WISPRs.

How many vapes are actually represented in that signature ?

Going through 6 to 9 units in 3 years doesn't in anyway make the wispr look attractive.

I do like my WISPRs.

I have one WISPR that was used 4-6 times a day for 2 1/2 years, ignites on the first click or two and runs quiet and smooth. It's Only used a handful of times a month now. I will replace it when it dies.

But saying you HATED a vivape 2(not my favorite vape But ...) and still you keep replacing iolite wisprs every few months. This just doesn't sound right, the Vivape 2 has a much much better reputation for durability and is truly a more advanced medical type device I don't believe you can really compare the two.

If you want other people to be as excited about the wispr as you are. Posting about yet another warranty replacement every 5-6 months will not help. Although the honesty about poor QC is great.

I have two WISPRs, a "1" and a "2" (no Larry Welk impersonations). The 1st one needed to be replaced along the way but still works great. Now the 2nd one developed a leaky tank. Love this 2 yr warranty. The new "2" is wingin' my way. As long as they continue to replace them, they are great.

My two cents' worth:

I bought an Espresso Brown WISPR from www.puffitup.com in December of 2011. The unit worked beautifully for about a month, before the ignition problem reared its ugly head, and I was forced to return it.

They kept me waiting for over a month without any contact other than the generic e-mail that they had tested my unit and had issued a replacement. When I finally had time to spend an hour on hold waiting for their customer service, I was told that I was made to wait a month because they were out of stock of brown units. When I told them that the colour wasn't an issue to me, and asked why they couldn't have bothered to phone or e-mail me with this information I was greeted with nary but silence.

A few weeks later, I received my Orange replacement unit, and again, couldn't be have been happier.

A month later, Orangey died on me, with the same ignition problems, and I was forced to go through the return process yet again.

The second Orange unit I got from them lasted a record-breaking 3 months until it too started doing the clickity-click-clack.

This return was one of the most volatile customer service experiences I have ever had in my life.

Apparently they were so bogged down with returns that they were outsourcing their customer service at this time. The woman I was forced to deal with kept me waiting for a month (again) after I was "Approved For Replacement" with no explanation as to why there was this delay. When I finally got a unit shipped to me, they sent it to the address on the receipt, not the address I had provided them with, and shipped the malfunctioning unit from. When I telephoned the customer service department I had been outsourced to, the woman was rude, belligerent, and outright lied to me. She told me that the shipping company they had used only provided senders with tracking numbers, not receivers, and that it was impossible to reroute the shipment to my new address. When I told her that this was my third unit, and that I was very unimpressed, she actually told me that about the outsourcing situation, and went so far as to say she "doesn't work for Iolite, so really doesn't care". I was told to wait until the shipment bounced, and was returned to them, and only then would they ship me out a new unit. When I told her this was absurd, since it was there error, and not mine, she told me to "deal with it". I was therefore forced to drive to my old address just to receive the item card. A quick call to the carrier confirmed both of the things she had told me were outright lies: there is no such thing as a "one way tracking number" (How would that even make sense?), and it took him five seconds to have the package rerouted to my new address.

Orangey #2 lived up to its namesake and lasted exactly two months until it developed the infamous butane valve leak. I kept using it until it got so bad that you could hear it from across the room. At this point I was honestly afraid it might catch on fire. Iolite claim that it can't happen, but does that account for units leaking like a fully depressed can of Colibri?

Conveniently enough, the Iolite that I had purchased in the midst of all of this (which was about a year old now, miraculously enough) started leaking butane as well. I threw both of them in a box, and went entirely through their internet customer service after the last nightmare I had.

I got the Iolite fairly quickly, however, the WISPR was almost two months after their approval. The WISPR was post-marked from the United Kingdom to Canada overseas a single brown bubble wrap-lined envelope.

Needless to say, both the WISPR and Iolite were beautiful in their jet-black glory, but both units were faulty out of the box this time around. The Iolite has a worse butane leak than the one I sent back for it, and the WISPR, rather disconcertingly leaks vapour from the front of the unit.

By this point I was completely and utterly at my wits' end as to what to do, and put them both in a box and tried to forget the shame I have for all of my wasted time and money. Not long afterwards, I was diagnosed with multiple disabilities, and was completely incapable of making any sort of effort to pursue another replacement. Even if I had, I don't know what the point would have been, since I am clearly not in the minority with my batch of lemons.

The most painful part of this diatribe may be the following honest truth: out of all of the vapourizers I've owned, the WISPR is probably my favourite. The ease of use involved in butane versus batteries, the light weight; the whip; the warmth of it in my hand; the heat of the vapour on back of my throat; the way the heating chamber is designed to heat the load while packing it in place so nicely; the way it looked, and felt: all of these were things that would make it, in a different world, the perfect vapourizer for me.

For anyone curious about my "resumé", I personally own a VaporGenie, Magic Flight Launch Box with Power Adapter, Arizer Solo, and Herbalaire 2.2. They all have their ups and downs (except in my opinion the MFLB has no ups :D), but nothing has ever worked for me like the WISPR / Iolite. If only Oglesby & Butler could get their shit together ;)...

Another thing I think that bears mentioning is that while many have mentioned the great customer service at www.puffitup.com, my personal experience was anything but. I e-mailed them on two separate occasions in order to try to work something out, even going so far as to propose sending them a factory-sealed unit in exchange for store credit. I never even received a response. This is not to slander the shop, as I have been a satisfied customer of theirs many times in the past. I just find it odd that a retailer whom are continually lauded as being willing to work things out and ensure their customers' happiness would just completely turn a blind eye to my situation.

Since it may be of interest to some, and also for the sake of posterity, I will now bore you all with some arithmetic:

236.27 (WISPR) + (4 x 20) (Shipping 4 packages back to them) + 120 (Iolite) = 436.27$ CAD that I wish to the Lords of light and darkness I could get back :p.

I think the moral of the story is twofold here Firstly, I had my doubts from the beginning, even going so far as to tell my girlfriend at the time my second WISPR failed, "Just watch, they will keep sending me faulty units and milking me for shipping charges until my warranty is expired." It was funny then; much less so now. Secondly, and this was the hardest for me to accept, a product can be perfect in every way, shape, or form, be everything you've ever coveted in a vapourizer, but if the company does not make them worth a damn, or does not stand behind them when they fail, they are only as good as the value of their lowest common denominator, not the sum of their parts.

If you are one of those people who just said to themselves: "TL : DR", let me sum this up.

I: Go with your gut. If you know something stinks, you know it stinks. Don't throw good money after bad. Don't let your conscience, your friends, or a company tell you that you should like a product.
II: I would rather a company sell me a lightbulb that produces solid vapour with a lifetime warranty, and make said lightbulb within the strictest quality controlled environment than to sell me the God damned Sun, but it will burn itself out in a few weeks, made in a factory run by monkeys, and supported by people whom, in their own words, "don't work there; don't care".

Sincerely,
The Lernaean Hydra.

P.S. For anyone who cares Brown I, Orange I were Revision 1 WISPRS, whereas Orange II, and Black I were Revision 2. Personally, I don't give a shit, since they all died in roughly the same amount of time on me :D.

PoisonousHydra:

Man, you have had horrible luck. I don't blame you one bit on feeling bitter. Especially since it seems like you gave it a good try.

I, on the other hand, have had tremendous luck with all my portable butane vapes beginning with the I-inhale, which is the original name of the Iolite. I have two Iolites (one of which I had to replace: both still working, just not my goto-s), and two working Wisprs, both of which I've had to replace, both times I had a pretty good experience (all through emails) with the company.

In any event, I'm sorry that you haven't had good experience with the Wispr. But we all aren't getting screwed.

I am on my third orange pumpkin wispr. Bought the first one retail $350. I feel your pain @PoisonousHydra. The return process wasn't fast, but at least I got a working wispr in the end.

Welcome to the forum. Much tales you must have.

When you get a chance I would reach out to Iolite, with much patience. if you have two units with serials numbers they should be able to work some deal out with you. I get that you may want nothing to do with them anymore, but they still have value. I would even buy one and pay to have it shipped back to iolite then to me.

Despite hearing lots of worrying things about the WISPR, I am still heavily considering purchasing a WISPR2.

On one hand, from reading some of these posts, I'm a bit scared a WISPR could burn my house down.

On the other hand, I have had a really great experience with my original Iolite, which I bought when they first upgraded from the I-Inhale and changed the stem. Never had a problem with it (other than the learning curve and it seeming to get clogged pretty quickly) and never felt it was going to set on fire. Was apprehensive about the idea of butane but it works well and lasts.

I like the idea of 210 degrees and the instant shut off helps with stealth. Using butane really is quite freeing, no batteries no worries.

I just really hope I get a WISPR2 as solid and reliable as my Iolite is.
