TechEd 2014 in Houston?

Anyone else going/thinking about going to TechEd in Houston, TX this year? Anyone on here live in Houston?

I'm considering going but would be unable to transport either my medication or vaporizer to Houston so was wondering if anyone knows how "cannabis friendly" Houston is and if one can easily obtain cannabis there?

I need to give my boss an answer tomorrow in regards to whether I want to go or not ... and so far seems like I might need to hold off for another year where it's going to be in a more cannabis friendly location unless someone on here can give me some reassurance/advice (my initial research doesn't tell me anything about where I might be able to obtain medication while in Houston ... it just talks about stiff penalties and seems like a pretty non-cannabis friendly place right now ...)

Texas is not cannabis friendly and if you don't know anyone you would just have to ask people on street corners or at bars or something to find herb. I mean really if your going to go to Bible Belt states you are hard pressed these days just finding a real brick Head shop nevermind trying to find info on the web on where to buy bud. Bake some medibles to take if you have to go.

Last time I was in Texas (many years ago) I was almost strung up by my testicles. Beautiful place, but you have to watch your step...there are still some very serious good ole boys down that way. If you can do without for awhile, I would. Otherwise, college campuses might be your best bet, if you want to take that chance.

No Doubt There is a lot of herb in Houston, like any big city. But it is illegal.
To be real Colorado is the only Pot friendly state for now, strictly speaking.

I would love to live in Colorado, but the winters there are way to cold for my back problems. Beautiful state though.

I live in Houston, and can confirm what others said. A ton of bud is available but you can't just go around corners trying to find it. Laws are extremely strict and even the smallest amount of bud will get you in trouble. Also, prices are probably higher than Canada, at least higher than B.C( I go every other year)
