Good way to vape after wisdom teeth extraction.

Next week I am getting my lower right wisdom tooth extracted. Now one of the instructions was not to smoke within the first 48 hours because you can possibly get a dry socket from smoking. Should vaporizers help. What would be a good way to vape without getting a dry socket and what kind of vaporizer?

I have vaped after a rear molar extraction. Try and channel the vapor on the other side of your mouth and avoid any kind of suction. Keep it smooth and easy.

What type of vaporizer would be ideal for this? Volcano? Zypher? Or the VapeXCloud?

I'm no medical expert but I believe that it might be sucking that can cause the socket to dry out. Therefore I'm guessing a bag vape might be the best option if you or a friend have one. This way you can squeeze the bag to get vapour into you lungs rather than having to suck on anything. Another choice might be a vape that has an active fan in it that can blow vapour out.

Edit: I'd guess squeezing a Volcano bag while holding the valve open would be ideal.

Don't suck too hard and don't use the side of your mouth you just had surgery on. Take it as easy as you can while still getting effective medication. Like @Richy said don't suck that "plug" out of there . . .

What if you just inhale out of the bag instead of sucking? Wouldn't the vapor still make the sockets "dry?"

Not exactly. Just keep the vapor on the other side as best you can and your good, you just don't want to irritate or infect the surgical site, or suck out the plug.

I just had a wisdom tooth extraction a few weeks ago and vaping didn't effect it in the least. However, just to be on the safe side...you can take a 2"X2" gauze and fold it over in half once and then drape it over the extraction site, with one side next to the inner cheek and the other side between gum and tongue. Now it's covered while you vape. Also, good advice - make a strong warm water salt solution and swish it around lightly and hold for a minute or two...then spit out. Helps the healing process quite a bit. Enjoy and good luck!

When my wisdom teeth were giving me trouble in the 80s I was stubborn and decided to ride it out. What I did was put a little rock of cocaine on the trouble spot, hey it was the 80s! Just bootleg novocaine...

My technique worked well, but I ended up having them extracted 20 years later anyways.

I think the Herbalizer's fan-assisted whip would be the fastest and easiest option, excluding cost as an issue.

suction = your enemy when you are trying to avoid dry socket.

so a bag vape or assisted vape with an air pump would shine for this application. anything that doesn't need you to "suck" hard to breathe.

Would breathing through my mouth be a problem?

No, I wouldn't think so. it's all about the amount of pressure you make when you inhale right? go easy and don't make your cheeks pucker. if they do you have too much suction i'd think. if you suck the blood clot that is the plug out that's when you can get dry socket.

Another simple trick would be to let air come in from the sides are you hit your vape. You will get a less concentrated hit, but you will also avoid making too much suction too.

gargling and spitting a salt water solution is a great idea too btw. but don't make it too salty. you can actually hurt your mouth if you make it too much so. is not more salt will dissolve you are already far too salty. BTW I love to do this at the first sign of a sore throat too. does wonders. I do a half teaspoon of salt to a mug of warm water.

Best of luck with the extraction btw! I very much dislike going to the dentist! :(

I'm getting two wisdom teeth out tomorrow, and I just made a third lung to use with my Da Vinci. Trial run just now, no feel of suction and I am vaped up pretty nice. I hope it keeps me medicated through the healing process.

It should serve you well. Plus it's fun to use at parties.

another way to get your herbs in ya is edibles. i do this when i get a cold or "shudder" the flu.

I don't like edibles that much personally. but it's better than going without.

good luck to ya tomorrow

This adds no value, other than humor, but the first thing that I pictured when I read this was a guy with the usual after-dental work bandages with the whip of his vaporizer hanging out of a nostril...

Sorry, back to all seriousness.... make some kind of tincture perhaps? Or butter?

I personally DO NOT believe that vaping will in any way cause you to have "dry socket' after an extraction. I had a molar removed recently and vaped ever since NO PROBLEM at all.:2c::peace::cool:

You know, thinking about this, I think I'd be more worried if I was using a whip vape that had significant resistance during a draw...
