Vaping Vegetable Glycerin?

This is true; the cannabinoids in your glycerin tincture must already be decarbed/activated and bioavailable, as the glycerin is your 'vapor vehicle' for delivery, and the vast majority of e-cigs can not easily cause cannabinoid conversion all on their own. So your tincture must already be effective sublingually or via the buccal method, prior to attempting e-cig use. :)

We have been vaping glycerin hash tincture in e-cigs (and other vaporizers) with great success, since the early 2000's when the very first test models were being released in 'australasia'. :)

When using a bag, the little remaining tincture that collects and condenses inside after a session, is just as tasty and effective after the vape as it was before. smile

Have fun, and happy medicating :)

badkitty i noticed you recommend soy lecithin for edibles; is it also possible to use it in a glycerin tincture? and if so, can the tincture still be vaporized in an e-cig if lecithin is added?

This and the apparent fact that 338 is VG's vapor temp, and that apparently it breaks down into acrolein to some extent at 280 makes this whole VG vaporizing thing shadowy for me, health-wise.

What I need to figure out is the temperature of the heating element in the "CJ's eGo-T Wick Mod".

i've been vaping VG daily in a buddha and various e-cigs for over a year at this point with no ill effects. you want to keep the temperatures reasonable; there's a point where it goes from comfortable vapor to throat-irritating if you get it too hot. that's really the only thing to watch out for. works great.

thanks zerolux... i normally buy skunk/chronic... then i grind it and add a little glycerine... is there a better way?

simply adding glycerin to dried bud? that won't do anything for you, you need to make a tincture. if you have a kief box or grinder with a screen, try kiefing a gram and mixing the kief with an ounce of glycerin in a double boiler. use a silicone spatula to stir it while it's warming for 20 minutes or so. that's kind of a rough method but it'll work. you could then add a drop of that to your buddha wand, for example. or just eat it straight, add it to a drink, rub it on your skin... tinctures are pretty versatile.

it does seem to do something... at least as much as vaping just the bud on its own does.

Necroing thread.

Holy crap it worked, I am using an itaste V3 with Protank mini 2.

16g AVB, 2oz VG, cooked at 190 for 7 hours in a ceramic bowl, mixed multiple times, added 10% Distilled water when done(Did it this way: 9 droppers liquid, 1 water).

It taste like almost nothing though, I find that odd, because if I drop a drop on my tongue it taste sorta like syrup. I thought it would taste horrible, think I might need to flavor it....

Does your AVB-VG mix separate once cool?

Nope, its seems to be the same as when I made it(week ago) no changes that I can see at least, I am actually shocked it worked....took about 15 puffs to feel it, at 30 I was solid. That might seem like a lot but it felt like nothing, smooth as butter...

Oh there is bubbles on top, not sure what that's about.

you should concentrate that more, to the point where you can feel it with each hit. for 16g of abv, i'd probably use about 15-20mL of glycerin. don't dilute it with water unless your tank absolutely requires that. i'm using a smok aro coil right now, it works great with pure tincture.

Well I actually tried to do 1oz but it did not seem submerged enough so I added 15ml, then another 15ml when it still seemed like it wasn't covering all of it. Maybe it was more then 16g...I did not weigh it, more of a guess.

I only added water to about 10ml to test it out. I tried it full on, didn't seem to work in a Protank Mini 2, how is Smok products? I just bought a Smoktech Winder 1300Mah, heard mixed things.

extract the cannabinoids with another solvent first, then add the glycerin after evaporating that solvent. much easier to get high concentrations that way.

i think that battery is the same one i'm using, with the smok ARO pyrex tank. i go with 4.2V for pure glycerin tincture and it produces nice huge clouds. that coil has a very minimal wick so no water is needed.

Does extracting make it taste worse? I was actually thinking of instead of using water adding some flavoring, was checking out Flavourart and Capella's, mainly because it taste like nothing to me, would not mind some flavoring even if it makes it a tiny bit less potent. Was checking out Raspberry Cotton Candy...lol.

This one? http://www.hoosierecig.com/Smok-Tech-Pyrex-Aro-Tank_p_725.html

This is the battery I got: http://www.hoosierecig.com/Smok-Tech-Winder-VV-batteries1300mAh_p_713.html

Gotta say it would look nice together haha....

if you do it right and filter it well, it shouldn't taste bad. my abv tincture tastes kind of like vaguely floral cough syrup, and that's only when i eat it straight. there's no taste or smell to the vapor. if you're getting a bitter taste in abv tincture, that most likely comes from toasted chlorophyll.

yeah that's the combo i've got. it's a little large for pockets but that's my only complaint.

If its similar to the size of the itaste v3 and Protank mini 2 it should be no issue, I wear loose pants :-).

I tasted it alone, reminded me of syrup, was shocked it tasted like nothing coming out the pen. It made me want pancakes...no bitterness, kept it around 190 Degrees, doubt it burned.

Should I use high proof alcohol? Guessing the content alcohol cooks out when I cook it with the abv? Worth a shot.

my current method, very briefly, is to wash the ground bud / abv with 190 proof everclear, filter it through filtering paper, then put it in the freezer in a separatory funnel. the cannabinoids freeze and sink to the bottom while the water soluble chlorophyll stays suspended in the everclear. suction off most of the alcohol with a pipette, then boil off the rest in a double boiler before adding glycerin. 10-15mL per 1g of fresh bud that you started with; if you're using abv you kind of have to eyeball it, start small, and dilute if necessary.

Its worth a shot, thanks for the instructions, gotta come back to this thread when I build up more ABV.

With this method I don't have to cook for 6-8 hours?
