Hi fc, this is my first post here. So I've been looking around for a portable vaporizer for a while, and narrowed it down to the arizer solo and the pinnacle pro as the two that would best fit what I need it for(although I'm open to suggestions!)
So here's my criteria:
- needs to fit in a pocket, but doesn't have to look stealthy, just size wise.
- can't smell too strong, I probably don't get as potent weed as others as I stay in Scotland, but I do get some some stinky stuff, and so I need a low smell level.
- need to be able to use on the go without having to charge every session, I won't smoke it constantly, more probably a session every few hours so it needs to last at least 3 sessions.
- needs to be easy to clean, I like how the pinnacle has the bullets, I'm guessing that's all you need to clean, no need to fiddle with brushes ect you can just leave them in a bag with alcohol or something?
- would like to be able to use while charging
- would like to be able to use with herb that might be a bit damp, it doesn't need to work with concentrates or hash as all the hash round here is made from plastic bags and old tires lol we call it soapy.

So thanks for taking a look at my thread, and I hope i can make a decision!

Hey there,

My first post as well. I just purchased a Pinnacle Pro for my wife and have to say that it is awesome. I believe it checks all your boxes with the possible exception of battery life but I think with the use pattern you described (on for puff and then off for few hours) you should be fine. It's not cheap but is a nice piece of equipment. Have you seen this comparison video on youtube?

They compare the Ascent, Solo, Pax, Inhalator XP and the Pinnacle Pro. These guys seem to know their vapes and they UNANIMOUSLY picked the Pinnacle Pro as the best portable vaporizer.

Good luck!

Yeah I like vapefiend he does good reviews but they never really mention the smell I don't think? Unless I'm too 'medicated' to register it lol. The pinnacle was what I was going to buy originally before I saw the solo, what's cleaning it like? Do you have to clean the chamber?

I own 2 solos as my only vapes i ever had. Its has 4,7cm radius. That plus either a wooden stem or a vial to protect your glass stem. it fits in you jeans pocket. Not 100% confortably, but ok.

Delivers many sessions on 1 charge (im down to about 4 12min sessions with each solos after 6 months of heavy baterry only usage)
Easy cleaning for the chamber if done regularly; iso plus cotton swab. Reclaim your stem your prefered way. An fc member just drinks his sunday coffee through the glass stem.
For the damp herb thing, you will extract the water through the vaping process, never a real problem with vapes i think.

Cleaning so far is a dream because your herb goes in the little metal "bullets" which then just slot into the device. When you're done you just pop it out and put a new one in. Cleaning the bullets themselves is a piece of cake as it comes with a special brush. I can't really comment on smell. I feel like vaporized ganja is vaporized ganja so not sure what everyone is on about with that issue.

What do you think of how hard it is to draw? I heard it's like drinking a frozen milkshake, I'm OK with ordering another stem if it makes it better?
Also does it just smell of burnt popcorn like I've heard about other vape or is there a slight weed smell?

Its ok for me. I dont pull from my lungs, i pump it like a cig many times per puff. I get nice clouds, quicker extraction and i can handle level 5 temp. I use the pvhes from www.planetvapes.ca; sponsors of this forums. It eases the airflow without thinning the clouds.

Some say to use it stock, the way the manufacturer intended it. After reading the forums, i knew i had to try pvhes or else i would always wonder whats different and if its better. I say get a:
-str8 (bent are bulkier to reclaim) non-turbo pvhes, shorty even better
-a solo
-screens for the stem
-oring
-travel tube for your glass stem.
-gong if you plan on water filtering
-all from pv :)

The pvhes comes with the oring addon; you dont need to buy orings if you get a pvhes. Extra screens are usefull.

I was going to get one of those pvhes anyway, I've pretty much made my mind up, I liked the look of the pinnacle but I heard the quality from the solo was better so I'll try order one today/tomorrow, saw it for 160 so that's awesome! Thanks for all your help!

I heard the stems wiggle about, does the o ring help a lot? Or is it not as bad as people say?

It helps after some use. Oring with pvhes is my prefered airflow. I like to hold solo upside down to accumulate reclaim too. The oring holds the stem, though i usually put a finger on the stem to hold it.

Try the solo. There's an 800+ thread on it because it speaks for itself. Has many attachment and is durable as a brick house.

I dont have a solo, but its a proven an solid performer, that said The firefly, the pinnacle pro are pretty good options.

- needs to fit in a pocket, but doesn't have to look stealthy, just size wise.
Pinnacle pro is stealthy, its pretty small in person vs pics.
- can't smell too strong, I probably don't get as potent weed as others as I stay in Scotland, but I do get some some stinky stuff, and so I need a low smell level.
The pinnacle pro uses bullets so cleaning is a breeze and smell is minimized, unless heating a loaded bullet it can smell.
- need to be able to use on the go without having to charge every session, I won't smoke it constantly, more probably a session every few hours so it needs to last at least 3 sessions.
The battery life can be better on the pinnacle pro, it can easily give you 3 -8 minute sessions and still have 1-2 sessions left till needs recharging (low temps maybe more) It can be used while charging.
- needs to be easy to clean, I like how the pinnacle has the bullets, I'm guessing that's all you need to clean, no need to fiddle with brushes ect you can just leave them in a bag with alcohol or something?
So easy, its ridiculous, is o swap the bullet ever so often and iso qtip swap the mouthpiece and screen.
- would like to be able to use while charging
yes, for the pinnacle pro
- would like to be able to use with herb that might be a bit damp, it doesn't need to work with concentrates or hash as all the hash round here is made from plastic bags and old tires lol we call it soapy.
Pinnacle pro has a 5 heat setting (470) for concentrates, I find the titanium FMJ tey provide for oils doesnt work that well, but oil ina piece of cotton works way better (still no nail hit).
Hash broken up should work fine and with herb as well.

Here's some pinnacle Pro action

Oh yeah WELCOME!!!!
