Aromed 4.0

Hi FC. New guy to Vapes here. Been smoking out of glass for decades.

Just ordered one of these, can't wait to give it a go. Been reading up on Vapes for a while now, almost pulled the trigger on a Plenty today, and still might in the future for when i have friends over. But I came across the AroMed right before I was about to buy the Plenty. For my medical reasons I believe it the best option at a decent price point. The new Herbalizer looks awesome too, a bit too steep for me right now. Maybe in the future if all goes well.

I have had mine for about 5 years and really like it for the glass and water aspect and great temp control. Save all your vape remains and use for medibles. I hope you get lots of great use. I wrap the stem in a wash cloth etc so as not to break when storing it.
Play around with temp and don't be afraid to turn it up. The other thing I found is experiment with how much herb u put in bowl. Using less sometimes makes better vape IMO>

Thanks for the tips Kittyboy. Much appreciated. Never crossed my mind to use the remains. Think they'll work for making butter? I also bought a Magical Butter machine recently and I highly recommend it.

Can't wait to get this baby in my hands. I live alone with 3 K9's so once it's set up it'll be stationary for the most part. I do like the scientific look of it, some don't, but the nerd in me loves the way it looks. Looks easy to hook up to a waterpipe too. Bought a spare heating chamber just for that.

Also very excited to see how efficient it is, smoking through a waterpipe goes through the MMJ like nobody's business.

Has anybody here tried oils with it?

Thank you for pointing that device out. I think I could really use something like that! I never knew something like that had been made..

Yes the remains make great butter. I do 2 oz to 1/2 cup butter makes them strong.

Oil dropped on herb worked best for me. I got the oil screen but didn't see as worthwhile.
Think it is hard to get heat right for oil with so much distance from heat source. IMO>
But I did buy a swing vape that fits in the beaker and use that for oil. Similar to this
just got to get right size for bottom good fit.

I had heard about the butter machine but got a good system down.

Cool, glad to get the word out, it's a really nice machine, it can make tinctures and oils and other stuff too.

Thanks for the tips on the oil, was wondering how good the glass pucks worked.

They are great for liquids or hash that turns to liquid. The thing is you want to use very little and spread it apart so you can increase the surface area. A matchead size is good. The pellet is made to hold 1ml of liquid if I remember correctly.

If you want a fast effect just go to the highest temperature at the start of your session. To clean it, just drop it in some alcohol with a little hot/steaming water. Stir it around good. Make sure you use more alcohol than water. Some vodka is a good choice. Once clean, dump it into some hot water to get rid of the excess alcohol, unless you want to vape it. Be careful because vaping alcohol is much stronger then drinking it. If you do it remember alcohol boils at 173f.

Remember to inhale at a rate that keeps the dot blinking on the display so the temperature of the air will be exactly what the screen states. Also remember that the more herb you put into the bowl, the longer your inhales should be if you want a strong effect from all that herb to be felt at once. Most people don't realize this when using vaporizers. Enjoy.

Thanks luchiano! You got this baby down pat don't ya! :) Once I get it in my hands I'm sure I'll have some questions. Hope it's soon, the wait is killing me!!

I'll get a couple of those pucks on the way. Haven't tried liquids yet, but am looking forward to it after I get flower vaping with this wonderful device nailed down.

I'll take a pass on vaping alcohol, quit drinking 5 years ago and I was a very, very heavy drinker/alcoholic. Quit on my own and I don't miss it one bit now and don't see any reason to try vaping alcohol if it's more devastating. I will be sure to get the pucks extra clean after the alcohol bath. The left over residue from cleaning did not cross my mind. Thank you very much for this information.

Been reading up on vaping other herbs for health, that's another arena that will need a lot of research.

Has anybody used this as a room fumigator with the aroma top attachment?

Almost there...
Today is the day my new baby should show up, feel like a kid on Christmas morning. :D

That is awesome news!!!
I love mine and it works really well!
Bit of a learning curve with use but if you take your time it will rock your world!!
The one thing i really loved about mine, actually two things, is that it can use a very small amount of herb and still be very effective and the last one is watching the vapor form above the herb. It makes some crazy patterns in the top part of the glass!

Unfortunately the Herbalizer has taken my Aromed 4.0's spot and it does not get used anymore... Need to find it a good home soon!

Thanks lazylathe! Machinist background??

The Herbalizer sure looks awesome. Thinking about picking up one of those after I sell my house or get my tax return.

LOL! No not a machinist, i just like to mess around with my metal and wood lathes and milling machines etc... Keeps me out of trouble according to my wife!

The Herbalizer is awesome!
The Aromed 4.0 is awesome too, just in a different way.
The Aromed 4.0 hits like a sledgehammer after a bit of practise.
What i found was that once you get it going, the hit is so smooth and cool and you are inhaling and watching the vapor form swirls and eddies and then it catches you off guard when you exhale!
Some of the clouds you will get will be massive!!
So enjoy!

My life story in a nutshell.

Also found out grass city really sucks, looks like I'm out 300 bucks because those shysters say I didn't tick the right shipping box. bs, I know I selected the option for tracking and insurance just for this reason.

I hate Mondays......

Off to hit the glass hard

Lucky guy lazylathe, if I had lathes and mills on hand I'd just put a cot in the shop. :)

It finally got here yesterday, got back from my IV and saw the ups truck heading off over the hill. Followed him and when he pulled over for another delivery I popped out and told him I just missed him and inquired if I could get my package if I showed him I.D. No prob. :)

Set it up today and just got done with my first go round. Feel very relaxed right now. :smug:

Great unit. Very glad I bought it.

Now to start researching other herbs to vaporize to help my lungs out and for general health altogether.

Remember to play with the temperatures. When you have the time, start from the lowest temperature, and raise the temperature in 5 degree increments until you get to around 446f(with bud/flowers to prevent combustion). Use just a pinch, yes you read correctly, just a pinch. If it's good herb, you will be shocked that you can get an effect from it. When you use a little bit more herb in the future, once the taste goes, remember to stir the bowl, and don't compress it too much.

Another trick to play on yourself or other people, is to vape that pinch at around 446. Watch how the color barely changes, yet you feel some effects, even without seeing a cloud.

As far as herbs, if you vape some peppermint, it will help your lungs be able to take deep, slow breaths without feeling the need to take a quick breath. You can take it before you puff some cannabis or mix it in the herb. Mixing it with the herb when the taste goes from the cannabis is a good time to add the peppermint to the herb. Have fun.

i find if you use other herbs you might have to use an alcohol rinse to get other flavors out of tube etc. I found some good tubing for using and replaced as needed. I have tried the Chamoline (sp) herb that is used for making you sleep. It is a tea>You can mix that with herb as well. Enjoy

Is it really as big a learning curve as some make out -- ie. the difficulty to get the light wand to seat in the glass part that hold the herbs? I am quite interested in this device.

all you have to do for the light wand is bend it in more of an arc. I have had aromed for over 5 years and it still works well. The best thing is you just increase the heat till you get the best hit possible. And you can always make budder from the vape remains... Numero uno IMO

I have not had any issues with mine either.
There is a slight trick to getting the light to stay seated 100% but the bend method works really well!
If i am not in the mood to bend the neck i just apply light pressure while inhaling and it works perfectly.

I was reading the booklet the other night and they actually recommend drinking the water after vaping certain herbs in order to get their full benefit.

Helo all,

currently looking into getting a new vape since my cloud broke down. I have a possibility to buy a second hand aromed for cheap. Only downside is, it is from 2007 and he cannot find the purchase ticket anymore.

Is this a bad thing, ie its age, or should I not worry about that. will the folks over at R&S still help me out if something does stop working?

Normally this vaporizer would be out of my reach pricewise, but this opportunity just popped up and I was wondering if I should go ahead and buy it or pass it....

So how about durability? From what i read here it is okay...

And seeing i come from using a cloud, will this satisfy me as easily when using in my bubblers? I know this one is a bit personal and all, but I guess you get what I am trying to say/ask here...
