Too many ebibles - first panic attack

Yea thats the thing about edibles. Its very hard to judge dosing for a multitude of reasons. Dont eat anymore, drink water and just try to relax. Remember it wont kill you or otherwise hurt you in the end.
I've walk around in circles, masturbated, drank water, shower hot, use pre wash dental wash, flossed, brushed my teeth, and rinsed out my mouth with water. I"m so fucking high and lying on my bed. Time is moving slower than ever. I keep envisioning myself running around in Ocarina of Time, which is awesome, except for the fact that I'm at the Water Temple stage. Too high to go on. Seriously oh my FUCK.

Sleep is always a good option. Might want to set an alarm clock if you have to be anywhere tomorrow.

Always keep in mind, you can't really consume enough to do any permanent damage. Time is always the best cure for too much.

It's always best to consume small amounts, and wait 40 mins to an hour before eating more. It will creep up on you. Especially if you're not accustomed to edibles. (And dosages can vary batch to batch)

Don't worry and woohoo. Congrats. This is a right of passage. It teaches us that even in what we think is the worst of it all that no matter what it still will not kill you. Enjoy it while it lasts. And a little advice. Get as much cleaning and organizing with all this panicky shaky energetic ness you get.

eating too much can be very bad.

i was stationed in Thailand in 75. we had made hash in the states before, it was decent and came out brown and crumbly. when we made iso hash out of thai sticks, It came out black and sticky.

we had the house girl make some cookies and the hash reminded us of chocolate so we made "chocolate" chips out of them and threw them into the cookie batter along with some bud.

we ate a cookie while playing poker. in the next hour I ate 2 more and the other guys had at least one more.

then it hit. like a mack truck. 5 long time stoners brought to our knees by reefer. lol

twice in my life I've lain in bed saying lord, if you bring me down, i'll...

I'd done lsd a bunch of times but this was different. it was unpleasant and scary.

I didn't eat pot again until the 90s and now I always measure out individual doses for cookies or firecrackers from 1/2 to 1 gram depending on the pot.

we threw out the remaining cookies. the guard dog ate them and was basically in a coma for a couple days. he was never quite the same again. I still feel bad about that.

Brought to your collective, stationed in thailand knees by reefer-chip cookies! What a horrible story, just think how much worse it could have been if the enemy had attacked at that time--good thing there was no cookie intelligence going on. That really does suck about the dog.

Does this happen because of a low tolerance mixed with the heavy onset of thc and other cannabinoids? I am honestly curious because I have been hearing/reading more about situations like this and it just sort of boggles me. I do have a high tolerance, and have taken literally 20+ dabs over the span of a couple hours and eaten a 500mg edible and was fine, honestly was hoping the edible would kick in harder but I don't even think I noticed it.

How much are people usually consuming that they are nearly "tripping"? Or, is it just the lack of tolerance thing? Sort of like slamming shots of high proof liquor the first time you drink? Too much herb, too little tolerance, in too short of time?

Everyone's metabolism is different, and how well your liver processes things affects it, too.

I get a lovely low-level buzz, great pain relief, and then pretty much it fades away in about 4 hours. My hubby gets wasted for about 12 hours. Same dosage.

It is almost impossible to accurately judge dosing when eating edibles. Its easier if you can buy stuff from dispensaries however it can still be hit or miss even with the same brand edible.

Then you have the fact that eating effects people differently than smoking or vaping. The high is different. The amounts needed to get medicated are different. Everything is different.

I know people who will get laid out from edibles but can smoke Snoop under the table on any given day. On the other hand I find that I personally have a high tolerance for edibles (as well as smoking or vaping or dabbing or...).

Then you have the fact that it takes time to feel and thus judge dose. This is why its so easy to eat too little or too much. It is best if you eat some... wait 45 minutes then eat more if you arent medicated enough. Repeat as necessary.

The same edible eaten on a:

Full stomach = zero or very muted buzz.

Empty stomach = hard hitting high. Maybe.

My philosophy is better safe than sorry. I'd rather under dose because once eaten, it cannot be uneaten. Except, of course, to vomit, and fuck that for so many reasons. :)

Empty stomach = hard hitting high. Maybe.

I think this is true in most cases when it comes to edibles, but there are so many factors. i.e.-potency of said edible, how much food is in the stomach, etc. :)

Eating something beforehand might help with the digestive process, thus help with the onset of the high?

Thanks for all the replies! Although I do consume vaporized cannabis daily (about an 8th a week), and have enjoyed firecrackers on several occasions, this was the first time that I literally felt scared for my life. It was nice to see nice replies.

Lesson learned: Don't use a ridiculous amount of weed when making edibles.

Low tolerance for how much you're eating. When you vape you do, say, .15 or .2g or something. When you eat an edible you eat more. Inhaling gets you stoned faster but eating it is one of the most efficient ways of getting high. If you can do that much oil you have a very high tolerance and would need a really strong edible.

I feel like the thing with edibles is that tolerance plays a lesser role, so people who are used to smoking a lot think they also can handle a lot of edibles.

personally I need to eat more edibles as others I've eaten edibles together with, but that was already the case the first time I ate edibles, wich was back when I only smoked once a week. that time I ate edibles with 4 others, 2 of them only had 1-3 bites, one had 4-5 bites, and the last person and I divided what was leftover. everyone was really high, even the people that only had 1-3 bites.
for 2 of the people participating it was their first time high.

the only enemies in Thailand were the officers who kept trying to keep us in line.

such humorless bastards, they barely stood a chance. :)
