I guess it depends on your desired appeal. Do the glass purists buy more vapes than those who want bags? Which form of delivery do you prefer yourself and want to service? I like the idea of being able to do bags, but I have two bag blowers here now and I never use that feature. I think I have used a bag once in the past four years.

that may be the best initial usage video yet...great job! Makes me want to know more...

I keep looking at this, then thinking how much I spent on a cloud and volcano....then back at this. I hope this is as high quality as it looks. I may have to add this to my collection. Will be very interesting to see which vape(S) its gunna replace.

Yeah, i find bags to be the worst delivery method and i think it is so popular only because of the Volcano which is the first high quality vaporizer made.

It is noisy, difficult to clean, and very inneficient. The only advantage is that it removes user error and it's very simple to use with newbies and people with low dexterity.

But if i had low dexterity i wouldn't use an all-glass unit and i don't think you should buy vaporizer for your friends to use. If they want one, either buy them or learn to use it.

The whip is a nice compromise when you need to pass around and if you have low dexterity IMO. No need to complicate with bags.

Salutations Leiana,

Congratulations. We are granting your wish for the halogen bulb. I love the productivity we are having here so far.

Oh thanks, excellent! I like it too!!

Unfortunately 3 heaters is our maximum capacity for production at this time.

It's already quite nice to have this many options, but since halogen heating is pretty clean as it is why not just keep the titanium nail and dump the band heater instead? After all, if there had been a problem with the molybdenum pins or else then i guess we should have read about it in the Aromed thread a very long time ago...

So here's what i suggest as a substitute, for both of your present band/halogen heater scenarios:

Sorry about that crude rendering...
9.gif

Briefly put lets take electric hardware out of your airpath(s) by containing it with a glass tube sealed at the colder/remote end using silicone: this air won't mix for all practical purposes, which would seem like a good enough solution (at least for me anyway).

:2c:

Can anyone think of anything else? We are looking to focus on the base mods and possibly entertain some whacky ideas for kicks.

Indeed, go for it!! Not to mention i feel drained after my little MSPaint session...

Blow bags or no bags?

No such trade-offs please!! I believe bags will add value to your concept as i've been initiated to vaporism through bags myself, essentially speaking, so i wish you'll do your best to save it.

Really liking the idea of getting feedback from the community.

Have you looked into etched foil heaters? They look like they have great potential to be used in vapes. If I'm not mistaken, a member here just used one to repair his broken VXC with great results.

"the flat surface of foil heaters provide more uniform heating, thanks to significantly more surface area devoted to heat transfer."

"Another important feature of foil heaters is that they can be extremely thin. For example, materials such as polyimide (DuPont’s Kapton) can be used to make heaters as thin as 0.005 in., with the foil heating element as thin as 0.0005 in. Being thin lets foil heaters fit in tight spaces, and their flexibility lets them wrap around tight corners and complex shapes.

Foil heaters also let designers add devices to the heaters such as thermistors, fuses, and other electrical components. They can be soldered directly to the heater using traditional soldering methods. The result can be a heater with built-in control logic."

It appears the new breed of heavy hitting Vaporizers (VXC + Sublimator) are using thermal mass to give their vaporizer a strong punch. With etched foil, the potential to exceed what a ceramic heater could do is there IMO.

Thats for the Air pump. We support bag blowing as a stock accessory, with the vortex base as an upgrade.
Bags don't seem to be widely used on FC, I've never owned a bag and feel no need to. But I love the idea of having the bag option to be an accessory. For someone like me bags just raise the price and create utility that I don't need.

The halogen heater one would be a hell of a bright vaporizer! And a possibly very hot one to the touch?
That's what I'm thinking, all those designs will probably be hot judging from past experiences with other vapes. Will a housing be necessary to hold the vape at full temperature? I feel like it might be...

The glass we use is borosilicate pyrex. If you would prefer 5mm thickness as a minimum we may be able to implement that because we have different thicknesses to choose from. I will relay that message. :)
Thicker glass will obviously be less prone to breaking but should also help the vape retain more heat on large draws, the thicker the better.

Really liking the idea of getting feedback from the community..
It says a lot about the manufacturer. Coming to a community like this with an open mind will benefit everyone involved, assuming they can build a reliable unit.

5mm glass is very sturdy, higher quality feeling than thinner glass, I agree. I really don't like and won't use any bag systems, if it had one I wouldn't care, but if you can get better performance w/o it, I'd choose the tradeoff of that one piece of less flexibility in usage modes.

Lastly, have to say I really like the proposed price point, I think i saw about $250?

I am going to reply to everyone but in the meanwhile can someone answer this question for me? After looking at the glass design of the band heater.... I realized if you wanted to use it without the vape body you could use it as a dabber when placed on a waterpipe by inserting concentrates/waxes in the rear.

I am interested in hearing what anyone has to say about the dabbing potential of this glass path removable heater.

BTW we have joint clips to lock the heaters in place.

I agree this forum experience is amazing.

We want a vape used in Clubs in california, oregon, washington, and colorado. We need the bag blowing option just to stay competitive with people who want that feature initially. If we dont offer it, someone else will. That being said the different heaters will tout different features. I could see an FC user having all the heaters just to collect, while a retail customer may choose only ceramic for price performance ratio. The halogen opprotunity is something I feel the vaping community needs to have at a more cost effective price point. It is a 99 cent bulb that we are talking about here. I hope my answer was sufficient.

I keep looking at this, then thinking how much I spent on a cloud and volcano....then back at this. I hope this is as high quality as it looks. I may have to add this to my collection. Will be very interesting to see which vape(S) its gunna replace.
Versa Infinity aims to be the tuner model of vaporizers. IF you look at vapes like cars. The technology is proving to be viable so far. All of our heaters are rheostat compatible and as it looks may have a digital readout of some sort on the control unit. Ill get back to you on what that is exactly.

I agree with you, however like you said people who are new to vaporizing like to be passed something easy to try. For that reason only the vape will retain with at least 1 heater, the ability to blow bags.

The halogen heater one would be a hell of a bright vaporizer! And a possibly very hot one to the touch?
The heater cartridge will be lined with silver plating, just like inside the aromed. Alot of the heat in a light bulb is radiated where the light is focused. I tend to look at it like a flashlight so far. It has heat in the front and is cooler to the rear. All I know is that the vape is 7.5 inches long. Only the top 3 inches feel hot. Its also meant to be hands free with the use of glass joints. I hope that helps.

WOW... brain hurts.

Woah I'm proud of you. I will pass on this message and see if we can make sense of what you are presenting here. Like I said we want to entertain ideas to see if they can be used with our current interchange model. On the new glass body, the inner joint is 4.5 inches long with an 18mm joint st the top. This is where we secure the joint of the heater cartridge with a clip.

With a tool you will be able to interchange the heater yourself within 60 seconds, while its cold.

Each heater as of now will have a quick disconnect that will need to be fed through the hole to the outside of the glass body.

Your MSPaint skills are appreciated!

Yea thats why the blower is an accessory. We feel like if people are willing to pay 500+ for a bag blower, they may find interest in paying alot less for an add-on blower. At this point we are looking at including low cost pumps like herbalaire does, until our proprietary system is perfected.

Looks interesting. I also vote for 5mm thickness.
Got it.

Yes 250 is the price point for 1 heating element & its adapters, screens, bowls & whip. Bag blowing is either extra accessory or a package of its own which includes the standard ceramic package but everything for blowing bags as well.

Great usage video! This looks really interesting.

+1 for no bag blowing
+1 for keeping titanium and dumping band heater

Thanks for sharing and asking for opinions of FC.
I have your votes.

Thank you everyone! You just gave us alot to think about. Our manufacturing is all made either in house or within California so our implementation time for your innovations is very quick. We work directly with glass blowers and we are visiting them this morning with out new plans. Our glass blower also does silver coating for the halogen model.

What this means for your beta units is that if you request an Infinity, we can give you an invoice to pay & you can receive your unit within 1-2 weeks. As of now, we need about 1 to 2 weeks to finish our R&D on the halogen heater IF you want that heater.

At first glance i was skeptical of the versa, what really made me scratch my head was the use of other vaporizers company's components in your initial infographic.
Now that i've hear a little more about the versa, i think it is really fucking cool!!
I really like the interchangeable heater design. I also like the idea to inclose the air-path in glass, it seems like the best choice to isolate the air-path and from any electronics or wires.
On another note, could there be some sort of filter to remove any particulate before they get sucked into the heater?
There is a decent amount of lint and such floating around in the air, if a small piece of lets say nylon gets sucked up it will melt/stick to the hot heater and contaminate the air-path, I would like a way to prevent this from happening.
This is a problem i have with my fakexhale cloud.

I also like that the versa is keeping it affordable! thats a huge plus in my book.
Typically if a vape if over $300 no matter how cool it is, i won't buy it.

I was wondering if the versa has any plans to have a "test drive event" or something similar for fuck combustion members?
That way you could get lots of feed back from hard core vaporists to your team, and it would let a portion of FC try the versa before it is released. And lets face it this thing is really cool and i want to try it:p

Sorry, I'm not sure I get that analogy. What's an example of a "tuner brand" of cars?

I should have said the Versa Infinity aims to be the tuner model of vaporizers.. I'll edit it. Darkrom got it when he said he drives an EVO. Every brand of cars has its tuner model, likewise I feel every culture of products has a changeable model of something.

Versa : Change
Infinity : The state or quality of being infinite

To Everyone: We are grateful for your time investment in thought. The more minds focused on molding a great vape, the better chance of a grassroots model making an impact on the industry.

One other thing you guys could consider: different volume bowls.

Log vapes have this ability with the different stems available which have bigger and smaller bowls. I personally use my HI this way.

I saw you used a regular male-female adapter with a screen. All you need is another adapter with a thinner diameter. Just food for thought.

I notice this is a recurring problem, some people love everything about a specific vape except the bowl that is either too big or too small, to the point they choose another unit because it has the bowl in the size they prefer.

Maybe something as simple as a half inch glass cilinder that can slide inside the adapter is enough to reduce the volume to a hyper efficient volume.

Our current item near your air filter concept is our Vibra Flavor tech which is really an air filter flavored with essential oils. In essence its a cotton material accented with essential oils placed in:
1. Into the base's airpath or
2. The rear joint of the glass unit (An adapter is utilized.)

I am almost 100% positive its an add-on accessory but I dont know. FC will likely have a large influence on that. Ill provide you all with a demo of that technology in January.

Hi again Leiana,

...Vibra Flavor... In essence its a cotton ball...

Oh i thought it was the same as a Mist Maker nebulizer but this one would be meant for essential oils, though i'm hoping water would fit in too...

That's a really good idea. I'll pass that on. We dont mind carrying more accessories as long as its in our inventory we can have it made to order, even if we have ran out, it will only take 1 week or less to fulfill. We work directly with glass suppliers.

There are legal issues with the inclusion of water in the inhalation path. Of course you can upon your own will, attach a nebulizer to your infinity via a hose adapter into the rear of the vaporizer. Our rear joint is 24/40, you can find a 24/40 lab glass joint with a barbed fitting on it for cheap. You'd be just as happy. This would work best with the all glass heater design.
FYI: Alot of the adapters for our unit can be sourced from lab glass distributors. Just an FYI

Any sources you can recommend that don't require wholesale quantities?
1.heating element clips can be bought here without large order quantity. http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/aldrich/z691070?lang=en&region=US That may not be the exact size be we willl let you know what that is for each heating element because they may need slightly different clips even if the joint is the same. These clips may be able to be used but they are unconfirmed as of now. http://aqualabtechnologies.com/glass-accessories/keck-clip-joint-size-19-22-mm-white.html
2.Joint wax from here http://aqualabtechnologies.com/glass-accessories/joint-wax/joint-wax-single-tube.html
3. and here is pretty much everything you will ever need for adapters http://aqualabtechnologies.com/glass-accessories.html

Very nice demo vid .

No bags for me , the EQ is aprox. $ 250 also .
I didn't like the upkeep of buying new bags , nor the routine
of bag vaping .

A BIG def. NO for aromatherapy/essential oils .
That's not what I want to spend $ 250 on .
Please concentrate on Cannabis vaping .

+ 1 for interchangeable heaters and keep the TI heater .
Keep the vapor path as pure as possible . I like all glass .
14mm and 18mm options for water vaping .
