Which plug-in vaporizer to purchase?

As the title says, I'm looking for a vaporizer for my home. I'm new to vaporizing (made the switch about a week ago to help save my lungs!) and already own a portable vape (the mflb). I want something that will deliver higher-quality hits for when I'm not on-the-go, though, and I'm having a tough time deciding. There are a lot of options and I'm not really sure what would be best for me. Maybe someone could help point me in the right direction?

I have only two major limitations / preferences, which are as follows:

I want to try and stay right around $200 (less is preferred!)
The home-vape will be used almost exclusively through glass.

Thanks everyone!

Well, no vape is perfect. They all have some downsides, but if I had to pick a downside to the LSV, the ONLY downside that I can think of is the thick and stiff AC cord that is a bit unwieldy. Other than that, I cannot think of anything else that I dislike about it, and in regards to that cord, the word "dislike" is a pretty strong word. More of a minor nuisance actually..........very minor.

Well, when you have to start nitpicking at the little things like that to even give me a downside, it says quite a bit for quality of the vape! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely take it in to further consideration (alongside anything else mentioned here) :)

E-Nano? They are also 20% off right now making it well under budget.

Thanks for the recommendation! Just as I asked lwien, do you have anything you dislike about it? I will say that I personally like the look of the e-nano over that of the LSV, but I'm a sucker for anything "natural" looking.

Edit: That 20% discount is great too!

I just got mine today and havent unboxed it yet. Lmao. However I read a majority of the nano thread and it appears to be highly underrated and overlooked. Ive yet to hear a bad thing about it other than minor gripes about the power cord being stiff.

This is going to be harder than I thought!

Would you mind if your desktop was smaller than your MFLB? :p You might wanna check the Lotus thread as well. It works wonders with glass and will never leave you in the cold. Why be attached to a plug when you can have equal results while being portable? ;)

I've looked at the Lotus, but honestly I just could never own one. I think it's because it reminds me of these electric spinning tops that we always used to receive as "rewards" for selling XYZ number of flowers / cheap jewelry / other crap in elementary school (when it's on its pipe). May sound a little bit silly but I really can't get over the look of it. I'd love to try one, as it appears to be a pretty effective and different design, but I don't think it's right for me. Thanks for the recommendation, though!

And just for fun, here's a picture of something similar to those electric tops (I can't find an actual picture of the ones we received):

Awesome, can't wait to hear your opinion on it.

Wow, Im baked. Please forgive me if this isn't as lucid as can be.

Anyway, the first thing I noticed was HOW SMALL this thing is. Now my other flower vape is a Solo. I was expecting this to be roughly the same size or so but its actually SMALLER (by a decent bit). In fact I dug around the packaging material thinking he didn't put the unit in the box, lol!

Obviously, I eventually found it and immediately plugged her in. Went to set the dial to max for heatup and noticed the dial goes to 11. Now, it will actually only turn to the "10" mark, but Epic Vape put 11 on the dial in what I assume is an homage to this epic movie clip:

This wins all sorts of points in my book, but I digress...

Set the dial to "10" and let it warm up until the wood felt warm to the touch. This took roughly 5 minutes (keep in mind I was also outside). Dialed it back down to 6.5 (what most people suggest you start at), let it cool for a minute and loaded up a stem of some DNA Genetics Tangie flower (for taste purposes, this is the best tasting/smelling bud I've had for a LOOOONG time):

Now I ended up going through 4 stems as to be able to try different techniques. My first stem was a fail because I tried to load it like a Solo stem. Way too much, and too fine a grind. Meh. Anyway, long story short my best results were from tearing a VERY SMALL nug up with my fingernails, dropping it in and hitting it 1 to 2 times @ setting 8. Even with a dry path this was more than tolerable for me (on par with 5 or 6 on a Solo) and resulted in great flavor. It also resulted in a cloud large enough that I could see it in the fading twilight out on my unlit balcony. Impressive.

The extraction process is very fast. With smaller loads you should be able to kill it in 2-3 hits easy, while getting it dark brown. Super efficient and quick sessions if you do it like this. Of course you can take your time and milk it like a Solo at lower power levels I assume.

Oh, and I should note that I bought this used. I have an earlier model and from what I hear the new models have a more pliable power cord. That being said, I don't really have much issue with it. Yes, it could be softer but in all honestly I don't see how this is a problem? Only downside I guess is that the stiffer cord prevents you from wrapping the cord around the unit tightly because the nano has such a small diameter. Its still more than pliable enough to loop and put in the supplied soft bag so meh. Point being, if you get a new one this really REALLY shouldnt be much concern.

Obviously I need to get technique down and I've only used it once. So far I'm impressed though!

The Nano is currently 20% Off. It's a no-brainer!

Well that was quicker than I expected! Seems like I'm currently gravitating towards the nano, based off of what I've read in my short time browsing through the official thread, and your review. And with that 20% off deal running, it seems too good to pass up! :D

What makes the Nano so much different than a Hi or a Hot Pod with a high voltage input? I am sure the LSV can hit harder but if you fill those big bowls you loose efficiency and waste a lot of herb and if you are using small loads why go for an LSV? A nano is a more logical purchase but what makes it such a superior vaporizer to the Lotus in your opinion? People even put their Clouds in the corner in favour of the Lotus... Anyway, the guy already said he has a thing with the looks of it so why continuing this discussion here?

I 3rd or 4th LSV or nano

LSV in you price range one of the best through glass at the price range. Looks like it uses a bit more herb if your not careful. Also chance to combust. But if you want to be jedi you know what to do.

enano in your price range super efficient better taste. Will need to buy GonG adapters for your glass (worth it imo, the nano looks like it milks as hard as the LSV) still be within your price range. Easier to control your temperature range.

Other thing to note you can leave your nano on 24/7 always ready to use. As compared to your LSV get a little hot not too bad but I dont think you want to leave it on 24/7. Oh and you will need an adapter for your LSV too.

I will say I'm not exactly partial to the overall design / appearance of the LSV. So at this point, I'm probably going to go with the nano. Looks like a solid little vape (and I do mean little, that thing's compact!) that really fits what I'm looking for.

Yup! I too have decided to pick up a nano over the LSV. Aesthetically nano wins every time imo, But for me it was the efficiency. I would tend to look in the LSV WPA and feel like it needs more every time. I would run out of bud pretty fast I reckon  You will be able to pick one up well within your price range if you use the FCSANTA coupon code. Also been talking to the maker and there will be a deal on personalized enanos if you are willing to wait until after xmas also some new woods that aren't on the website atm. I am organizing one and cant wait till its all finalized.

Personalized, you say? I may just have to tide myself over with my mflb for now then

If i was in the US, i would definitly choose the Nano if it was between LSV/Nano.

It is more versatile and allows for smaller or bigger sessions more easily than the LSV. Plus, it is not as fragile as the LSV and as big which makes it much more easy to carry around.

OTOH, i'm betting the LSV has a slight edge on taste because there is only ceramic and glass in the air path, and the Nano has the metal tube which always leaves some taste albeit marginal.

And i'm with NF on his opinion regarding the Lotus, apart from the temp dial, what is the big advantage of the Nano over the Lotus? I can't seem to find one in terms of extraction, but i'm curious to know your opinion Hoof and others who have tried both.

A nano would be on my horizon if there was a 220V version. ;)
(I'm not willing to go buy a converter with other good options that are 220V or flame based, it's not worth the hassle trade off. )

I have NEVER detected a "metal" taste from using the Nano. Well, maybe sorta, once, when I was hitting a concentrate on the highest setting, at the end of a long pull... but, no, not really. Not at all like hitting a Ti nail, or using a vape pen.

Great clouds from small vaporizers...

Well, you notice the difference especially if you hit an all glass vaporizer, when the flavour is neutral.

At that point, i can hint some metal taste in my HI and in the Lotus for example, but i can't in my Gn0mes.

It's not something really noticeable, but i notice when it's not there better than when it's there.

One other thing @prazia, you can buy just the Lotus cap+water pipe adapter for 93USD and use it in a bong or a sherlock adapter (the sherlock kit, which is lotus cap+wpa+sherlock+lighter is 111USD).

Don't know if that helps solving your problem with its shape or not but just thought you should know.
