Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

After a quick searching about using cotton with flowers, I am wondering how many of you really run into issues with clogging up the mouthpiece just from pieces of herb? I've been using my PnP for about a week or two now and haven't had any issues. I use the PonG adapter and the screen will get some small pieces on it but certainly not enough to clog it up.
Are there other reasons for using cotton? To pack it tighter when you use less herb, for example. Or is this even really necessary?
I have been tinkering with different heat settings, quantities of loads, etc. I do notice that sometimes it cooks off pretty fast at low temps and even raising it to 4/5 will not produce anymore vapor at this point. I know the heating element continues heating when not being drawn so I suppose this could just be an issue of me taking too long to draw. I don't want to consume the whole thing as fast as possible. I like to kick back and relax, taking my time. Often I have to turn the PnP back on once or even twice before I finish.

Overall I've enjoyed my PnP but it definitely cannot replace my original Vapor Brothers whip-style vap'. The quality of taste, the smooth and comfortable hits, the incredibly long-lasting bowls (with very little herb) are all significantly better with the Vapor Brothers. I knew that there would be some compromises with the portable tool (and I don't have a water tube because it just seems unnecessary) but I had hoped for greater efficiency.

KUengr, My main reason for using cotton is to keep the screens clean. It's handy too so the herb doesn't fall out when I'm out and about. With the new bullet holder that VB has out, that doesn't have to be a problem.

I don't use the tip on my mouthpiece because it gets clogged with oil. I noticed that others have not been using their tip either on the Pnp because of clogging.

For those of you sending your units back to VaporBlunt, turnaround time was pretty quick for me. I was sent an RMA# and when VB received my unit it was only a couple of days and I was sent back a repaired Pnp that looked like brand new. The total turnaround time was about 2 weeks, in my case the sleeve had broke and VB repaired it.
Due to how it broke I had to pay $50. I broke the unit while taking the mouthpiece off.

I was also sent all the goodies that come with a new Pnp.

You do have a 90 day warranty.
It may take longer due to the holidays.

Yep I find that the continuous heating is at odds with my need to kick back and relax, and I often turn it off and on once or twice during a session.

The continuous heating was most obvious during last night's session with the oil-soaked cotton and the WT. I found the WT milking up when sitting there between hits.

My interest in the cotton is more as a filter to smooth the vapor to avoid coughing. I've only tried a few times, but it's been unsuccessful as I end up with bits of cotton stuck to the screen.
Need more time with the PNP. :science:

As far as the continuous heating is concerned, you can alway remove the hot bullet from the Pnp, then put it back in.

Chimpybits, I don't mean taking the bullet out between each hit, that wouldn't be very much fun or relaxing.

If you hit the Pnp and decide after a couple of minutes that you're done. Shut the unit off and turn it upside down, empty the bullet in a dish, you don't need to even touch it. The bullet cools down in a matter of a minute.

When ready reload. No heat resistant gloves needed. It can be very efficient that way.

Or just add a little herb in the bullet for smaller sessions with some cotton as a filler.

Oh OK, I suppose there is some saving of precious goodies by removing the bullet during a rest in a sesh.

I am probably very lucky that this fit so perfectly without any mod (cutting or filing) what so ever... but I will try my best to explain what I did:

I took the inner tube out of a glass blunt (long style, about 4 inches).

Dimensions of the inner tube of the glass blunt:
The inner tube's OD is approximately 8mm
The flange OD of the flange (flared end) of the inner tube is approximately 11mm

Dimensions of the Pong:
ID of the top of the Pong is approximately 8mm
ID of the bottom screen end is approximately 11mm

*I'm sure based on the dimensions, you guys know what I did next.

I popped the screen out of the Pong
Slid the straight end of the glass blunt inner tube into the bottom end of the Pong opening.
I placed the Pong screen around the flange of the glass blunt inner tube.
Wrestled the flange and screen back into the Pong opening.
This inner tube that I had fits so snug without any play that you'd think it was meant to be this way.

Note that the Pong has 4 protrusions that run along the inner wall of the Pong that aligns the screen to be flush with the Pong.

I slide the sleeve and Glass blunt outer tube back onto the inner tube.

I posted previously that I use a thick tapered rubber band that keeps my Pong an MP snug against my PNP.

If I don't do this then my new glass blunt Pong set up will topple over or fall off.

User beware.

PROS:
The hits are cooler with the inner tube only
The hits are much cooler with the outer tube and inner tube together
Glass will allow for reclaim with an ISO wash.
Pong stays clean
Friends don't bitch about the heat from the PNP compared to the MP alone. (If everyone has)

CONS:
Top heavy
Requires a method of securing the Pong to the PNP.
Friends don't bitch about the heat from the PNP compared to the MP alone. (If no one else has expect for you in this case)

I hope someone else will give this a try.

I'm strictly a dry hitter and I needed to come up with a way to cool down the vapor.

Hope this will help some of you out there.

what's a good car charger for this unit?

The regular charger, with an inverter:

I'm seriously pissed. After just one day of having the Pinnacle Pro it has decided to stop working completely. No charing light or any indication that the product still works. Is the only known way of fixing this returning it? If it is, can somebody help me through that process? I'm brand new to vaping.

Does anybody know of a portable battery pack that has the correct amp/watt specs to charge the pn pro? I own a portable USB charger but it doesn't put out enough amps to charge the pro.

@ Col. Kurtz,

I've been combing through the pages, and I'm getting mixed information.

I'm pretty sure that this is the only option that is readily available:

http://www.amazon.ca/Astro3E-10000m...id=1387212105&sr=8-1&keywords=Anker®+Astro+3E

The Anker Astro 3E seems to be the only 5V portable battery pack that pump out 3A in one port.

You'll also need the USB to 3.5mm barrel jack.

Someone has posted within these pages.

Can anyone verify if I got the right model?

I'm going to be ordering one if someone can confirm if I got the correct model.

Justed added a Pinnacle Pro to my vaporizer collection. I've really been enjoying it, especially with the water tool. The only thing I really don't like is that the fit of the mouthpiece to the unit isn't very secure.

The Astro 3E is the correct model to charge the PnPro. There is a link on page 44 for the correct cable.

I just got my pnp and love it. However, I really just don't get why Vaporblunt don't just bite the bullet and make it the best pportable vape out there hands down by securing the damn bowl cover, which is still really loose. They also need to sort out the plastic in the casing. I'm not saying lose it all together but maybe glass line it somehow as I think it does affect taste. Plastic is good because it doesn't conduct heat very well so I get why they use it but it just feels so flimsy. Another cool idea would be to maybe somehow cram two little bullet holes and a lid into the bottom so you can go out with three loaded bowls. You absolutely need a case for your things with this on the go as the cap will definitely fall off in your pocket at some point. It's a great little vape and with these improvements, at least sorting the cap, will make it the best portable. It's like a mini cloud, if you didn't have to worry about the cap and could stash 2 extra bowls it would be so awesome! Even if it was longer it would still be mad.

@ VAPEHUNTER,

Thank you for confirming.

Are you aware if the Astro 3E is capable of powering the unit during use also or only for charging while the PNP is off?
