Compressed disks in neck vaping making my pinched nerves flair up?

Great Scott!
I am still dealing with my ongoing pain and always end up finding this thread. How are you doing?

I just started taking my natural calm again last night. Going to try to stick with it this time.

Just trying to keep the diet in check, stretching regularly and taking all my ant inflams daily. But still getting random nerve pains throughout my body and short but intense migrains a few times a week. I hope you start feeling better brother this shits no fun :/

You can consume it in raw form THCA (THCA=THC that has not been decarboxylated) and it will still have a medicinal effect without the high.

I had some spine pains caused by bad sitting, standing and sleeping posture and most of them just flew away after an hour of acupuncture with electric needles from a great orthopaedic... They also caused me short migraines and momentary dizzy ness and I had a hard time sitting for more than a couple of minutes in a chair or sofa! Much better now but I ll need another session at some point. Also do yoga and try to eat LFRV... Best wishes!

What is LFRV?

My only experience with accupuncture cost me $80 and offered ZERO relief. I plan on trying again soon with someone more affordable. You really noticed major benefit after ONE session?

Thanks for the info ! *virtual high five*
I will give that a try when that will be possible. I've been vaping some ABV @200 to get some CBDs, and I've also got me a bottle of CBD extract which I'm trialling and experimenting with.
It's difficult at times here in Aust because everything, I mean everything is illegal.
Thankfully my pet kangaroo lets me stash stuff in her pouch.
Have a nice Xmas brothers and sisters in vapingness

If you can, vote the crooks out of office who want to keep cannabis illegal, otherwise take good care of your kangaroo!!! Is she trained to bite the cops and run if they try a search?

Seriously there is a strain that is now popular called Charlot's Web. It has very low THCA content and very high CBD's, just the opposite of a normal plant. A stoner wouldn't like it but it has been performing miracles helping kids and other patients who suffer from cancer, seizures, and other neurological pathologies. Some day there will be no debate, cannabis will become the treatment of choice for so many of the debilitating conditions that are now being treated with bottles and bottles of ineffective synthetic drugs.

Cannabis should be available in grocery stores and sold as a vegatable with a warning, "eat raw or cook at your own risk", ha!!!

BTW, one of the best ways to improve spinal balance is to do balance exercises on one foot at a time.

Merry Christmas!!!

I have had the same reaction to traditional acupuncture, around a dozen sessions over the last decade or so with no appreciable results so basically just on faith. But recently I have tried something called trigger point acupuncture, which is very different. I would encourage all of you to google the term but in a nutshell:

It is practiced by some acupuncturists, chiropractors, and physical therapists. They use different needles and they look for the nerve meridians instead of avoiding them. The needles are smaller and the insertion is shallower; basically the needle is inserted and wiggled around until the muscles start twitching on their own. The practitioner then moves on to the next meridian while the muscles release the nervous system energy.

@natural farmer, I am also wondering what lfrv stands for.
:hmm:

I can go low fat, but I can't go raw vegan lol.
Tell me about it. My dad got diagnosed with ms 1.5 years ago and we went off red meat and started low fat diets together. If i had to give up fish and chicken i don't know what i would do ahhh!

LFRV, I tried to catch one to eat its lean meat once but the sucker ran too fast for me and my roo to catch :worms:
I've seen some info on Charlottes Webb, I think it was on American Weed (??)
And there may be a story about the little girl Charlotte on YouTube.
I did try to get some CW seeds, but couldn't find any to order online. And getting any flowers locally that arnt indica and high THCfeminised is impossible.
Darn feminised seeds, love the theory but makes it hard to replicate anyone's nuggs.
Thanks for the tip on spinal balance, I will get started on that :)
My pet roo is awesome, here's some footage of her I took last week when she was training

Trevor do you vape at night? I've noticed that cannabis has ELIMINATED my REM Sleep period for many years now, every single day. Just now am I realizing that is very likely intensifying my pain. If you look at fibromyalgia and MS and many other painful and hard to treat diseases, disrupted REM is a common factor in a lot of people.

Now the hard part will be to see if I can narrow down how many hours before bed I need to stop in order to have REM sleep. It should be very easy for me to tell. In the last 10 years give or take a year, I've gone without cannabis maybe 5 days? Spaced out, never more than 2 in a row. On every single one of those days I'll have acid tripishly vivid dreams. My night from 10 or midnight until 6:30am will feel like its been days. I'll wake up expecting to go to work and it'll be 1am and I'd only been asleep for an hour. Stuff like that. On any given night I don't have dreams (not just don't recall them either, I can feel when I had a dream and just can't remember what it was vs waking without dreams). I basically feel like I blackout for a couple hrs and boom its morning. I wake up exhausted EVERY day. Tolerance break days I wake up feeling like I slept for weeks, and a sensation of time practically stopping as I wake several times through the night. On cannabis before bed I wake up 1 time maybe. 2 once in a while. On tbreak nights its like 2 minimum wake ups, but I end up falling right back to sleep. Last night I tried 3mg melatonin, and vaped about an hr before bed. I felt like I had a lighter but much more "productive sleep" but no dreams. Tonight I'm going to try 2 hours before bed. Basically vaporize, watch a movie and check the clock and make sure 2 hours goes by.

What does it have to do with you or this thread? Basically a LOT of untold things can be causing our pain. Sleep IS important, so perhaps sleep and cannabis usage right before bed are an important factor like eating correctly (something I am yet to be able to pull off, but making gradual improvement) and other similar things we don't even think of.

If you are interested I'll let you know how it goes and if I find my pain decreases at all after a few nights without cannabis before bed. REM is important, and I've got about 10 years of missed REM. Maybe its not related, but drs can't find a cause, and the pain IS very real. Good luck with the ongoing struggle.

Did you feel any different giving up red meat despite not having MS yourself? How so? That is something I could definitely try for a decent period and see if it helped. It's hard, but not nearly as hard as no vaping before bed, when it helps me get to sleep so very much.

These guys in Colorado had a whole greenhouse full of CW and would produce oil and sell it on a sliding fee scale to sick patients and parents who were giving the oil to their sick children. The parents were getting away with it because it did not get the kids high but it was having a profound effects on their disease. Be patient (but that is extremely hard to do if you are sick now) because doctors cannot in all good consciousness keep ignoring the effect cannabis oil is having on sick patients. Positive case studies are stemming the tide. CW is available here in dispensaries, they also sell clones.

Cannabis oil is extremely curative by nature, just put some on a skin lesion like herpes simplex (a cold sore) and see what happens. If it helps that much on the outside its a pretty good clue it helps even more on the inside.

As far as balance exercise is concerned I started by standing on one foot and moving around then challenging the "other side" to do the same thing. At first my left side was weak and could hardly do anything but it improved over time, and now I feel like dancing, ha!

Try eating cannabis raw, you might like it. And don't kid yourself the proper amount of sleep is extremely important imho.

Vaping at night is almost the only time i do vape. Usually with a few beers and or glasses of wine, i used to be from morning until night vaper until these nerve pains started setting in. I as well have noticed rem sleep loss over the last 8-10 years. But with only consuming at night almost strictly for the past few months keeping in mind i pretty much never take tbreaks just cut down, my tolerance never really seems to increase possibly because of so many strains that i consume? Almost never the same strain each day alwasy switching. Interestingly the past few months of only consuming at night I have been getting rem sleep again, very intense dreams and good sleep, even after a friday night drinking whiskey might be coincidence but it happens at least 5 nights a week. Giving up the red meat hasnt really seemed to do much other than me missing it lol.. But with doing so many different things its hard to pin exactly what is doing the most for me keeping it out of my diet cant hurt and if i can be happy with the things i am eating ill keep doing it.. So far so good but only time will tell, I am def interested in trying that different accupuncture treatment.
Sadly when i do get suddon nerve pains that are debilitating a shot of hard alchohol usually eliminates it... Not keen on the idea and really wish i can find an alt to doing it knowing how much my liver/brain are loving me for it.

It's such a foreign concept here that one could go to a shop and buy a joint, a clone and a bag of cookies.
I don't think the Australian government is anywhere near accepting that cannabis has medicinal properties. It was decriminalised for those with terminal cancer, however that was ceased.
Roadside cannabis testing, similar to alcohol testing is now being rolled out. However I've not seen or personally heard of anyone getting tested. But it's a $700 on the spot fine and 3 month driving disqualification I think. But keep in mind it's either positive or negative, so if one has had a puff two days earlier they still could get done.
So if you think about it, I can legally take my morphine pills washed down with a few glasses of wine then get in my car and drive.

There's a local advocate in NSW who grows to aid medical patients then produces a zero THC tincture and donates it to the patients. But he has recently been in jail for it, and is now being watched like a hawk by the local law. His website is mullaways medical cannabis. His strain he grows is called clever man but is grown with about 1:2 cbd:THC so I'm not sure how he processes the THC out of it.

But back on topic about pain management, I find turmeric works well, I make my own capsules.

Crazy laws around the world sorry to hear the australian government is so naive, here in Utah its not much different. I take pure tumeric and black pepper extract to help it absorb and it does seem to help a little bit

You know, I went from vegetarian to vegan, to raw vegan, to low-fat raw vegan, and that last bit there just about destroyed me entirely.

I am now Paleo/Primal - no wheat, corn, soy, no PUFAs, absolutely nothing that is "low-fat" or "fat-free", no chemical sweeteners, and lots of healthy real food, and the pain has dropped a lot, the swelling went down, and my digestion is amazing. I spent 50 years eating stuff that was killing me, and I suffered for it my whole life. Here I am, just over 18 months later, and I'm losing fat, brain is functioning much better, and my digestion is swift, smooth, reliable. I've only heard of this before now.

I have also found, for myself, that if I use a sativa or high sativa hybrid, I get headaches, snarky, and edgy. Also makes my BP worse. I lean heavily now on indicas and high indica hybrids. Lower temps seem to increase THC extraction, which doesn't help me as much as higher temps for the CBD/CBN factors (this is a spectrum - no temp will "isolate" a factor, it just determines, generally, how the ratio of factors lean).

So, basically, the TL : DR on this is: if you keep doing the same stuff, you get the same results. Try something different

I'm gradually getting there on eating real foods etc. A lot of the time its not even that I don't like them, its that I end up in places/situations where the options are all shit. Its hard to start eating right, but I'm definitely getting better cutting back gradually. More often than not I eat pizza bagel bites for breakfast still ... but I'm doing better with the rest of the day when I'm not rushing out the door with microwaved shit.

I am home for the night and I vaped at 10:30PM for the last time tonight in attempt to give this REM sleep a fair shot. If its really when the body heals itself then I need that very much. I'm hoping to sleep around 12-12:30 so 1.5-2 hrs. If that isn't enough then tomorrow I'll set a 3 hr cut off limit and see if that helos. I only vaped 2x today which is exceedingly rare for me. I did dabble in my new 151 tincture but it is VERY week, but I think it has good pain killing potential. I'm going to try making it 3x as strong next time. I'll be donating some to a friend with seizures to see if it helps supplement his existing meds. He already uses cannabis, so no worries there.

Also continuing with melatonin at 3mg 1/2 hr before bed for now. An ideal thing for me to discover would be a way to vape before bed and get all the medical benefits, without disrupting my REM sleep, perhaps via supplements? I don't know if that would work or is safe. I get 6-7 hours of sleep a night, but it is not quality sleep. Even on the nights I get 8-9. The more I read about sleep the more I think it is related to a lot of the perception of pain.

What happens when you stop vaping for a day? Is it possible to go a day and see? I know its hard, believe me haha. I "only" vaped 2x today and thats almost a record low for me. But if not maybe just not at night? I'm curious if your pain levels seem to be more tolerable with less REM inhibition.

  • When I vape it is with my old trusty Iolite. I flip the gas switch off after it comes on the second time and I quit sipping after it comes on the 3rd time after which I immediately dump out the load. In my mind it has been activated so I munch it down and since I didn't cook it to smithereens it still tastes ok. The Iolite can hold up to a third of a gram so it starts kicking in after the vapors start waring off and if I supplement with a 30-50 milligram edible I'm good most of the day. I use cannabis to stay active and the light vaping helps my asthma. My favorite outdoor activity is cycling and fortunately there is a smooth concrete bicycle path nearby that follows a creek for miles so I am in 7th heaven, no stopping for cars and I rarely smell car exhaust even though the trail in in the city. A 175 mg edible is good for 3 days if I vape about a half gram per day my current medical costs are about 6 bucks a day. I know the Iolite is dinosaur since there are high tech electronic vapes that you can load with your choice of strain specific oil but it still works and I'm used to it.
So I'm consuming about 100 mg of activated THC per day while I could be consuming 10 times that or more if it were raw and I wouldn't have to deal with the side effect of cognitive dysfunction...but I like it, ha!
