Anyone ever try herb in the oil bowl?

Tried that out with good results as you described. I don't use oils so I took it a step further and modified my unused oil cap. The results seem identical.
I removed the teflon sleeve, popped out the chamber and silicone ring. Banged an air hole in one end with a nail and hammer (lousy engineer!).
Then popped it back in the opposite way and low and behold! The basket is a perfect snap tight fit on the other end!
Cons .... The metal can gets hot. Need to put some kind of insulator over it.
Sorry about the crap pics... but you get the idea.
EDIT ... Saves wear and tear on the stir cap too.
EDIT 2... I have a screen at the bottom of the heat chamber the same as filteredhead too.

No. You can't use the glass oil mouthpiece. Just use the normal mouthpiece end. It works well. The same results as using filteredhead's method.
That nail hole seems to allow just enough air. I guess if you made that hole too big you could stuff some stainless steel wool inside the can.

Hi there,
I am really happy with the 2.0 product. Howwwwwever, me and my curiosity seems to have caused an issue with the device. When I first purchased the device, it was calibrated well. Then after holding down the button from the blue battery indicator until after the lights go out, I found 3 different functions of some kind. Now I cannot get a stable temperature and it is not getting hot enough to vape.
(DONT TRY THIS, IT CAUSED MALFUNCTION IN MY DEVICE) At the blue battery indicator, holding down for 3 sec after will switch a toggle of some kind (blinking 3 times light blue). Holding down for 5+ seconds after will display a light blue rising indicator as if it were heating. Holding down for 10+ seconds displays a yellow/orange rising indicator. I've found that in each of these two modes you can short-press the button 14-15 times each. A long press will get you a power down animation. Each of the short presses are sticky until the battery is unplugged. Fooling around with it from the default state doesnt make much a difference, Im thinking maybe the blue and orange modes are simply numeric inputs rather than timed sequences or anything, but I would really like it working again!!!! If anyone has any insight, i'd love to know how to fix it (without returning!).

After much consideration and hang-wringing, i took the plunge and bought a VB2.0 about six weeks ago. I've used it quite a bit since (in conjunction with other devices). For perspective, i've been vaping since 2009, and overall been pretty high since the Carter Administration. I have two tabletops...SSV and V Tower Extreme. Love 'em both but the VT is my go-to tabletop. I also have two portables...an MFLB (like it, but have inconsistent results with it despite years of use) and the Solo (love it, don't need to tell you guys why). I was looking for something a wee bit more portable and a bit more stealth. This thread and some of the vids intrigued me, as did the sub-200 price.Overall i like this unit. I don't *love* it, yet, but i do like it. It has quite a mix of plusses/minuses from my viewpoint.
PROS:

Overall i'd give it a C+ or maybe a B-. It's seriously inferior to the Solo re: vapor quality (really, the most important aspect for me) but certainly decent enough to use on a regular basis. I'd rather take it outside than the MFLB because it is more reliable performance-wise, for me anyway. It's less stealthy than the MFLB thanks to its ability to throw odor in a large-ish area, but it's also more fun, more reliable, and much much MUCH faster. If someone were deciding between VB 2.0 and the Solo, I would recommend the Solo for almost every application. If you're looking for super-stealth, VB 2.0 ain't it, and the Solo is more reliable and higher quality. I guess if you need the versatility for extracts the VB would be the obvious choice...for those of us not using extracts, the VB is a fun but ultimately non-optimal portable. I'm not sorry I bought it, I'll continue to use it, but my quest for a better portable continues.
(Thanks to all the erudite posters in this thread and on this forum from whom i learned a ton before taking the VB plunge.)
PROS:
- small, portable
- long charge (relatively)
- versatile
- pretty stealthy
- capable of delivering big hits, in the right circumstances
- good value
CONS:
- less-than-superior vapor taste
- not enough temp gradation...2 is too cool for some material, and 3 is way hot
- throws more odor than any vape of any kind i've used, making it not as stealthy as optimal
- serious freaking in-your-face conduction that will lay waste to material in minutes if not tended
- inconsistent hit levels even at the back end of the learning curve
- The big one: PLASTIC. maybe there's no plastic, technically, in the air path. But the heated end has a lot of plastic, and gets REALLY hot, and when the manufacturer tells you not to use the stir cap above heat setting 3, you know this thing has some serious plastic-meets-heat issues at times. The fact that the entire heated chamber area is largely plastic is a real design flaw, IMO, and the only thing about this vape that i flat out HATE.

I've come to the conclusion that the wire bowl and stirring tool are counter productive for a conduction vape.
1. The wire bowl reduces contact the the hot herb chamber.
2. Conductive vapes need the herb packed fairly compact. The stir tool loosens the herb up ... merely by screwing the cap on. Actually using it makes matters worse.
My final solution?
Get rid of the wire bowl and place a screen at the bottom of the chamber and cut the stirring tool off completely with a pair if pliers.
Now my Vaporblunt works almost as well as my recently purchased Ascent.
I really feel that the stirring tool is a sales orientated gimmick. Get rid of it.

What conduction vapourizers need is to maximize the amount of herb that is in contact with the heating surface. Compaction helps do this, but anything that isn't in contact will not vapourize well. Stirring brings the poorly vapourized herb into contact with the heating surface, so it isn't contraindicated.

That's right... BUT, after it's stirred... it needs to be compacted again. Impossible with the stir tool attached.
My Vaporblunt's performance sky-rocketed as soon as I cut that stirring tool off. I still stir mid session ... but with a bamboo stick.
It doesn't need to be compacted again, it's just better if it is.

But you still have to take the cap off to re-compact midway, yes? Removing the stir tool doesn't really aid in re-compacting, unless I'm missing something.

Yup, but you can also do as I do, load it full enough so it compresses down when the cap is screwed down (not before). Bury the rod end in the load. By holding the center part from rotation as you screw the cap down, it comes up nice and snug (you can open it up the same way a few times and inspect it until you get the knack). It's going to loosen up anyway as it collapses, so I see no loss turning it after a few hits.
I don't often do it, only when I'm in the mood, otherwise I usually sip at it so the 'huge clouds' part doesn't matter to me (as long as I eventually exhaust the THC I put in). But when the urge takes me, it can be done.
As you said, 'to each his own'.

I don't have this problem, usually. Material stays mostly compacted unless I actively turn the knob . I find the stir tool useful, if a bit flimsy.

So I just bought the vaporblunt 2.0 with the chandelere hydro tube. Now I am new to vaping and need your help. The vape is weird one session I will exhale a lot while other sessions when I hit the vape I exhale nothing. And when I use the hydro tube I fill up just above the chandelere with water. And when I hit that I swear I get nothing. No milky like a normal bong. It looks like I am getting nothing. Now over time I will say I feel like it working and I feelrelaxed but there are the some sessions where I feel it isn't working . Can you help nd guide me what to do

How is your grind and pack?
I find to perform right it needs a somewhat fine grind (but not super fine) and a nice compacting. Tighten it down with your pinky finger. Not too tight, but tight. Make sure you stir in between hits and recompact
Love my hydrotube, but for me, the Pinnacle Pro totally blows the VB 2.0 out of the water. Personally, I see this as a good unit for those who are fans of a lighter vapor. As some folks have mentioned in the past, you get alot more air with each draw...so you get nice taste, but the vapor is pretty thin.

sooo, i've experienced something really strange with my vaporblunt 2.0 (i have never recieved). Maybe someone of you guys know the reason?! It passed german custom control three times. first regular check, second one because of a missing invoice and third because they've taken it in "for further inspections".
Yesterday, I've recieved a letter that they have send it back to the us, because their team of experts have identified it as "dangerous and/or not permitted" (vaporizers are not illegal here!) and therefore they can't hand me out the device. WTF? I have never experienced that before... and couldn't do anything about it
i know they don't sell it here officially, but not that it has a technical reason

Are there any laws against importing batteries? I have heard of some folks in other countries trying to purchase lithium batteries online and having them confiscated. Other than that, they may have figured out what it was for and made a call not to allow it.

actually i don't know. never heared of such a law... what i definitely know is that vaporizers are generally allowed here (storz&bickel produce theirs even here). i think the purpose is also not a secret, same with bongs and long papers. So i really don't know what's their problem.
