If it is the thick one not as fast and it is called creep. I said melt and was corrected but that is what it looks like melted or chipped but from how I read up on it the plastic molocules get closer so shorter mabye? I dunno. If you use it till dead daily my guess is a month or so. If you use it on high it will be faster then on low. I have had the bottom piece break right off as I was removing it and it wasn't stuck. If you read some of the last few pages of the pn pro thread you will see with the high heat there seems to still be some issues with the thicker pong. I only use low so I am in a better position. All vapes have there pros and cons and this is the con of this vape.

1st vaporizer, first post, just finished reading this thread in its entirety. I am a very happy customer.
TRVB: Thanks man. Really. I've always wanted a vape but this was more or less an impulse buy from a local shop that I trust. Purchases like this are why I trust that shop. I had no former knowledge of available portables, and I really could have gotten myself into a mess. Instead, I GOT A PINNACLE! I will be watching your future releases (especially The Baker) with great interest. My only gripe is that had I known the PRO was essentially the same unit plus a few CLUTCH features for not much more money, well... whoops. I do think you sell your company and your customers short with frequent updates on the expensive units. Please for The Baker just give me the best function possible out of the gate and take my money! I'd hate to be sitting on a 2 month old Baker that I spent most of a paycheck on for you guys to release the pro version that fills balloons. And thank you so much for your presence. Given the way this thread tossed and turned it speaks volumes to you and your company.
Also thanks to Dreamerr, stickstones, MedicalMark, and t-dub. You guys have turned a device into a great experience both in learning and in vaping. This site rocks!

Welcome @Adox, you'll love our community, and these fellow members know how to take care of each other. And enjoy your pinnacle! Get yourself a PonG and a small tube, bub, or water tube, it really makes a better vaping experience IMO. ( use warm water)

Well Dreamerr I wanted to thank you because the experiences you shared and you input helped me understand how to use the PN and vaping in general a medical treatment. I've got Rheumatoid Disease so I deal with varying amounts of pain in random joints on a daily basis. Having the PN and the resources on this site has made a huge impact in my pain management. Thanks again for sharing!

I will probably be moving on from the PN soon though. My friends all love it and I've put together a pretty decent kit for it. If I get what I want out of it I'll be able to buy a portable and a plug in that will both be better suited for my needs.

My impressions of TRVB and his products will certainly play a heavy factor in both of those purchases because I don't think you can ask more much more out of a company than what they provide. I'm leaning toward a palm(1, or 2) because I need a speedy device when I'm out. I'm leaning toward a Baker for my plug in just because of how impressed I am with company so far. But I'm a nerd and have hours of reading to look forward to before purchase time, so there's always room for change.

Last thoughts regarding the PN:
Engineering: You poor bastards. You guys' feet were put to the flame several times. But the tests all confirmed that they didn't actually melt, it just looked like it! LOL. Seriously though you guys set a trend in this thread of displaying intimate knowledge every aspect of this device. What's even more impressive is that when you were confronted by new issues you addressed them directly with your resources and seemingly full attention. Time after time 'issues' with the design ultimately became advantages once they were fully explained. Kudos! Curious, how bad does it burn your bacon that most of us prefer the PonG adapter to the mouthpiece and tip which obviously took more to put together? And the complaints about the fit? Wow. even with the unit is completely resin free I've never had the mouthpiece fall off due to side-to-side pressure on it. The force has to come from underneath and that's much less likely in a pocket. Brilliant. Keep doing what you're doing so I can keep buying your products!

Well I certainly appreciate the positive review! We actually developed the pong very late in the design cycle. It was only after the feedback from the VB2.0 that we realized the need/benefits of water filtration when combined with our units. We actually discussed eliminating the mouthpiece all together, but the decision was made that we had already designed the MP and some people may prefer it to the PONG.

Ok Fc peeps I was hoping I would have nothing to report for a while but I believe my battery is wearing out.
I am experiencing about 50% of the battery life I had originally thought was a bit short but had learned to live with.
This has made it pretty unreliable as a portable except for short outings.

There have been 2 occasions where the Pn got cold out in the car and when I tried to power it on it would just flash very quickly (orange?red? I'm color blind).
It will continue to flash and you can't get it to turn off but it doesn't heat up either, after a few moments it ill go off and if you put it in front of the heater or in the pocket to bring up the temp of the PN it will power on and work as usual.

This leads us to the question I am not sure ever got answered as to what will be done with units with units that have failed batteries.

Will there be an exchange, trade, or upgrade deal?
Will people start trying batteries that match the identifiers on the battery since we have seen it would not be difficult to replace the battery.

Engineering mentioned the battery chemistry was modified, will that taken that with a grain of salt ?
If so what will the result be ? Lets find out!
TRVB PM sent I am curious what your policy will be in these cases!

Gentle Friends,

I too have taken the plunge here, unable to pass on a $72 Pinnacle.... Needless to say, I too am impressed with the little guy once I got past the expectations and other garbage I brought to the relationship (where have we heard this before?). Like many other vapes I've come to think are outstanding in their own way, once I accepted PN as it was and tried to work with it on it's terms I became a fan as well. Other vapes like this I think are the various TV products, MFLB and Vapman. Solo is sort of in this group, with it's easy 'learning curve'. Interesting concept, that, all the learning is on the owner end. The change of opinion that so often comes from 'I can't get this POS to make vapor' to 'this is great' is entirely on the human side, the vape itself doesn't seem to change much.......

Anyway, a couple of quick observations/ideas. No particular order. I think the bullets are a keen idea. Guys that get better results (for them) without it have changed the vape from convection (mostly) to conduction (mostly) in the process. I also think an 'all screen' bullet would not be wise, the whole idea as I see it is the SS body and everything in it is heated by the airflow. That's why we get such uniform ABV.

From what I know now, Polycarbonate is an excellent choice of plastic. It's commonly used in tobacco pipe stem for the same reasons (Vapor Genie uses it). Pound for pound it's probably the toughest stuff available. Under the GE trademark, "Lexan", it's the world's standard for bullet proof 'glass'. It's what you screw a thin sheet of over the basement window to make it baseball proof until the neighbor kid's aim improves. It's not the hardest (scratches easily) and does have a fair tendency to discolor and show other 'pore related' problems.

Battery life will be an issue, more with some. To get small size and useful performance they've had to really push the battery. We're discharging at a very high reate, even with 'tapering off' after making temperarure it's not even good for an hour. Like Cera, Persei and others that push this hard, 300 cycles is probably about what you can expect. More if you're careful, but I dont' think we are. That means the battery is good for a little over 1000 sessions on average. More is nice, but don't expect it. The battery plugs into the board (like Solo, VB2 and others) so the battery pack should be easy enough for owners to swap out, once the parts are available. I think the maker will do this, or some of the owners (Pipes, got your ears on????) will rise to the call. IMO it's not a job for the average 'shade tree mechanic', but there's lots of sharp folks around, all it really takes is the will, time and money.

I did a quick temperature measurement using a small thermocouple like I've done with Ascent and Solo. Like with those two, it immediately showed some surprising information that I think will prove useful. There's a HUGE temperature gradient in the chamber with no air flow. Hottest at the top no less? I'm talking like 50 degrees C, from say 150 to 200 C as you move up the walls. Airflow obviously spreads that around and makes it more uniform, but idling it's a factor (especially for those going 'bulletless' without the air gap). None the less, changing ranges caused a very repeatable 10 or 11 degree C shift (up or down) in a half a minute or so. Very responsive.

So here's the fun idea for the day. There are four leads from the heater assembly to the PCB inside. Two for the heater, two for the temperature sensor. I think I can frig the sensor channel to put a fixed offset in so (being 'inside the loop') that the normal 370/390 setting can be moved up or down. The range between (20F) is fixed, but we could make it say 350 and 370 for the light vapor guys or 390/410 or even 400/420 for the cloud chasers (staying within the Pro range of course). Fooling the software if you will.

All in all I think it's a great little unit as is. Probably a top choice for a 'first vape' given simple operation and all. Even for 'old hands' it's a great performer within it's element I think. Small, compact, better made than many. The biggest drawback is the price, but the $72 sale fixed that.

I'll be poking more of course, but I see lots of potential and am glad I got it.

Thanks for your kind attention.

So I finally received my chandelier water tool and there's a black scuff and scratches around the weld at the splash guard and a couple minor (albeit deep) scratches near the bottom logo.

Am I in the wrong demanding a new one? Or should I just let those things go since they don't affect functionality? It is what should be a $230 piece... Any suggestions?

Engineering already has stated either here or in the PN pro thread that the batterys are NOT user replaceable as the unit has to be recalibrated or something once you remove the original battery.

My pinnacle has a quirk in that I have to drain the battery in order to fully recharge it. If I only do a session or two and recharge it I can only expect to get two sessions. I have to use it until it shuts off after flashing, showing a low battery to receive a full charge. But I bought it used and don't know how it was treated when first used by the original owner.

Hey @TherealVaporblunt How about selling the bullet holder alone. I already have all the bullets I need and don't have $40 to spend on the case plus six bullets I won't be using. I only need the case.

Can you please provide more insight into tweaking with temp? I got two for 72 each and id like to make one a higher temp, warranty doesnt matter.

This vape has me cussing and freaking out, not what one would expect after vaping. It took me quite awhile to learn how to (properly) use this thing..

First off, you guys that say pack tight, it didnt work out for me. I've been packing my bullets or dv oil can full but NOT TIGHT, i skip low and go straight to high. I've only used my PonG, as when i tried my mouthpiece, it felt like i had melted plastic coating on my tongue, YUMMY!

I've also learned, these things are indestructible.. I dropped my PN down 3 stories, i kid you not, between then stairways, it literally bounced like 4 feet high, i picked it up, found my PonG, and i hit tha button, started warmin right up :)

For $72, i like it.

For $180, i dont think id be terribly impressed. Maybe for a PNP..

In due time, provided it works of course. You're welcome, also of course, to forge out on your own but I try to limit the guesses I put out (and identify them as such). Guys should be able to trust us here for solid advice, doncha think? Like the other mods I've suggested for other vapes, I want to test the idea before posting details. I hope you understand?

Yeah, tough little rascals. They clearly did their homework with material selection......despite what some might think? IMO a pretty solid little product, thus far seems to do what it's intended to do.

When you get answers why the batteries are already going please update us. TIA

It has been heavily used and I got it right after the release usually 2 full charges a day but at least one.
there was some questions as to the life and how they would be replaced early on that Idk if were ever addressed.
iirc trvb made a statement that they were a lot like the battery in your cell phone, and how often do you replace them? Seemed like a pretty good response to me at the time!
Now that I am having about 50% battery life idk about that.

Engineering already has stated either here or in the PN pro thread that the batterys are NOT user replaceable as the unit has to be recalibrated or something once you remove the original battery.

My pinnacle has a quirk in that I have to drain the battery in order to fully recharge it.
I remember him saying that they would lose their programming now that you mention it.
I know they weren't designed to be user replaceable iirc it was stated that was because of legal reasons or something.

However there was a pic of one pulled out where the battery Id information was visible.
iirc engineering said they used a modified version of that Batt to provide stability across the battery life or something so unless that is to deter tampering you wouldn't be able to get the correct one likely.

Mine was one of the ones that pulled out of the case and iirc the battery is connected by two wires soldered onto the board and then soldered onto that battery.
It would be easy to replace if you have ever soldered. too bad it would need to be recalibrated.
Would it be a bad idea to solder in the new and then remove the old batt so It never completely disconnects from power? Or would that cause a surge to burn the board?

I most likely wont find out because I wont be tampering with mine unless no support is given by Vapor blunt and then it runs out to the point I only get like 1 session LOL I just enjoy using it even if it is only a couple times a day and only at home now :(

Honestly I am not holding my breath I have not heard back from the Pm I sent TRVB wich does not surprise me since I did not get 1 response from any of the PM's I sent when my PONG melted.
I was pretty unhappy about how the last minor C.S. issue I had was handled (publicly no less since no pm's were answered)

I am hoping to find that was a fluke this time.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean..

btw before I posted about the lost battery life I lived with it for a week .. Ran it all the way down one day and then left on charger for a full day.
So I could be sure it had been discharged as much as the firmware will let you and fully recharged.
I was hoping for something like RUDE BOY's results of getting a charge by running it all the way down before charging ...

No luck
