Has Anyone tried to replace a VapexHale ELB?

Looking forward to receiving my EVO soon but packing ELBs seems a bit cumbersome. I basically have all the parts below and wanted to know if something like (LEFT) or (RIGHT) below could work given the herbs wouldnt be sitting directly inside the VapexHale air path as done with the ELB.

Some noob posted something about a setup sans ELB a while ago..... I'll go look for it.

Ah, here it is:

Ok, thanks so that's defiantly the method I pondered on the left. And then I thought it would be a pain in the neck to load with herbs. And then worry about keep the screen in place...

The one of the right uses the Verdamper Bowl. A Reducer serves as a lid attached with a 18mm/18mm male adapter to connect to the Hydratube. The only downside I see is when I remove the hydratube, id need to remove it from the bowl chamber to avoid the: bowl, reducer, and adapter from falling. I shall report back... For Science.

It has already been said that ELBs perform best in the VapeXhale (and not only that) because they go into the joint - the place designed to be the bowl holder of this vape.
Also the ELB itself being a mesh capsule contributes a lot to the exctraction quality. The hot air first hits the mesh, heating up the ELB. This adds "conduction while hitting" increasing performance and also prevents combustion (unless too much heat is involved of course).
What makes ELB seem cumbersome to you? :uhh: So far in my experience its a perfect bowl. Super easy to load (or preload more ELBs), cooldown, empty, clean, use and switch. No extra glass to handle...
Seriously I think they are absolute opposite of cumbersome, it can't get any better imo. Have you tried using an ELB yet?
I am actually going the opposite way. The EQ had a cyclone bowl to load (something you want to change to), but I moved to using ELBs in it and everything got improved greatly.

I have tried vtac method. Worked good for me. Just to much hassle in the long run.

I suggest buying enough elbs to load them once per day. I pack 5-10 of them in 2 minutes every morning. Doing so as I type this. I use a little scoop.

Not to me, and I've been loading 'em since the very first Cloud beta units. I think they're easy to use and clean, and can last a long time if you're careful in handling and cleaning them. If you can come up with something that's safe from an accidental herb dump though, go for it.

I have some small, narrow containers that help with loading a chamber this size, but I usually end up putting herb in the palm of my hand and just scooping it up with the elb. This prevents any possibility of spillage. A small funnel, just the right size, seems like a good method for those with loading issues.

To follow-up: The verdamper was the most plausible solution but BOTH results in a precarious setup. The resulting hits are not nearly as cloudy as using the ELB. I would caution against doing the verdamper setup because of the risk of breaking a glass connection or hydrotube. The charcoal method was too frustrating to pack.

In both methods I had no considered the need for a filter atop the dry herbs. You require a second filter to prevent the herbs from being sucked up into your hydtratube.

More thoughts from this experiment in the Evo thread: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/vapexhale-cloud-evo.11357/page-46#post-512540

TL;DR NO NO NO its not going to work, stop now. You're wasting money, buy more ELBs! No.
