Reclaim and salt

If one uses ISO and salt to clean, can the reclaim be used?
Technically the salt doesn't dissolve in the iso so you should be able to filter it out, however, salt is not always a "pure" or straightforward substance and may contain impurities that may react unpredictably. I have never tried it and probably wouldn't.

ISO isn't pure though. Could salt still dissolve in the ~10% that's water?

No don't use it.. You don't want to dab anything w/ any salt in it.. Believe me.. LOL :puke:
The salt that dissolves into the water and the ISO is pretty much in there for good..
Once I tried salting some ISO and letting it separate in the freezer to remove the water, in hopes of making more pure ISO.. It worked but there is always gonna be salt left in there, unless you distill it out, I think.. I think the ISO absorbs a little salt too.

Ok, sounds logical. Here is my next question. I am using my reclaim to make topicals. So far I have mixed with a moisturizing cream. I have only used reclaim taken without salt for this. When I have had to use salt (piece too dirty) I have been dumping the reclaim. Would it react the same if taken with salt?

For a topical, I personally wouldn't worry about whether or not it had salt in it.. I don't see why it wouldn't be OK to use some Salted ISO Reclaim for that.

Good tip about those glass beads @StickyShisha.. Do you use them? Are they pretty tiny? It sounds like a great alternative.

Salt in a moisturizer? haha. Probably not enough to dry you out, but it does sound funny to me.

How long does it take for warm 91% ISO to dissolve?
Any way I can make it dissolve quicker?
Certain temperature it dissolves at?

If just let to sit out depending on how much there was to evaporate should take around 12-24 hours. But you can speed that up a number of ways such as sitting it in a hot water bath, on a hot plate or with a hair dryer on a low setting from far enough away not to blow anything off the plate. Hope that helps.
